what is this sarod tuned to? and are you sure this is Todi..? sounds nothing like any other todi ive heard

@GatoradeIsNotJuice: The sarod is tuned to D. The other thing that might come across as unusual is the fact that the two strings next to the chikaris are configured for a "Gandhar-Pancham" tuning a la Ustad Vilayat Khan, but in this instance, tuned as g (komal ga) and d (komal dha). Other than that, it is Todi alright.

Beautiful rendition of raga Thodi. It is somewhat slower than the South Indian (Carnatic) version of Thodi raaga.

it belongs to Todi thata. Scale is: SrgmPdN, SNdPmgrS. Arohi is dNSrgmdNS, SNdPmgmgrgrS

thanks. it is indeed a sarod. it is just that the peg-box has been re-engineered for more precise tuning. one can't necessarily contend that such a practical change makes a sarod any less sarod than a sarod! :)
