If you were a professional golfer and wanted to win just one major, which major would you want to win the most? The Masters, U.S. Open, Open Championship, or PGA Championship.
anyone know the theme music ESPN used for the masters a couple weeks back? they had 2 themes when they showed the scores before commercial. both are beautiful
Rich faggot Ron Townsend demanded that Rickie Fowler turn his hat forwards at a press conference. What a dumb southern redneck peice of shit Townsend is. "im better than you Rickie cuz I inherited daddy's money...yeehaww". haha. I hope Rickie wins and wears his hat backwards on the 18th hole. Fuck yeah dude!
5 x 4 = 20 more major tries before Tigger reaches 40. Double that for a 10 year look at it. IF Tiger would leave the ho's alone he'll do it probably do it anyway.
allright efisher8..shut the fuck up!! Tiger woods has contributed alot for the game of golf. Not only that, he brought back the passion and the inspiration for the younger generation. I mean, you don't think he'll won majors again? COME ON!! the peek for a PGA tour player is around at his age. Don't under estimate his will to win the masters.
@LB01318 He'll finish in the Top 10. I'd be surprised if he doesn't. I just don't see how he can win. And yes I do think he'll win majors again eventually, but not necessarily 18. I feel like a douche now after causing an arguement on a video with the best music in all of sports.
I live in Augusta and I go every year!! Its starting to hype up around here and I hope this years tournament is as good as last years!! Come to Augusta everybody!!
Chills! I was SO fortunate to go last year. Talk about an amazing experience. Everything, and I mean everything, is first class. From the parking lot attendants to the 18th hole attendants. If you are a golf fan, this is something to experience first hand. Tickets are not that expensive, it's finding a hotel room that is tough.

@dleano I feel you...especially with the announcement last week of TIger's new video game including Augusta coming out this March I have Masters fever earlier than ever! Can't wait!
Good things or bad, dexter or sinister, racist or no . . . It matters not. We can not change the inevitable. The inevitable that once again, the annual spring of the next year has arrived. We can make of it what we wish. It is our choice to decide how we
to live this year. No one else makes that decision, but you . . .
GREAT inspirational theme song. AMD has now surpassed Prostate cancer in statistics(Novartis.com). A silent anomaly, AMD needs your HELP in "awareness!!!"
@PJSkins26 What's amazing to me, personally, is that that win came the day after my 11th birthday and I was born on April 10, 1975.....the same year Jack won his record 5th.
Even casual Masters viewers have heard the CBS theme music countless times, but may not have known that there are words that go with the soft tinkling piano melody to "Augusta?" Dave Loggins, of "Please Come to Boston" fame, wrote the song around 1980, with lyrics help from photographer Frank Christian.
Phil mickleson is the esencse of golf, He shows that there it is a true god that is righteous and will prevail. In my eye's what I saw at the master is this time the righteous won, Phil is going thru very hard time with his wife with having cancer and Tiger that has been glamourized all these years cheating. Finally the good prevail and the bad finish not first. This was a very important event that happened in golf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@kking0072005 Let those without sin cast the first stone... Everyone diserves a second chance, and I think Tiger will make the best of it and best Jack's 18 majors.
RUSHisRIGHT09 boy you crazy Tiger still gonna be #1 ...he almost won sunday and he aint played in a tourny in 144days...you need to check your word because you talkin like Tiger aint shit fuck outta here
phil deserves to be #1 I agree true family man and represents how golfers are supposed to act you cant be #1 if you cant even drive the ball straight and Tiger DOES NOT deserve to even pass jack nicklaus record of 18 and he will never be as good as jack was 14 major titles big deal still not as good as the golden bear tiger's accomplishments are somewhat mild in my opinion
what is the other song played?? its like a full orchestra upbeat and dramatic??? iv looked everywhere and all i find is this song, what is the other one???
When I hear this music, immediately in my mind's eye is a picture of the Hogan Bridge arcing over a tranquil (but deadly) Rae's Creek, and in the background the yellow flag flapping in those unpredictable breezes around the 12th green.
I've never been much of a golf fan, in fact I think it's pretty boring. But for some reason The Masters - and this music - have a special place in my heart. Love it!
A lovely piece of music. Thanks for posting it BourneCubed. As a head green keeper Augusta is something we aspire too. Do you happen to know if the music is available in sheet form as a play the piano. If not I will have a go at playing it without. Thanks for posting again. Grandpiano3.
hell i cant wait for the masters again, pure haven, and its usually just after when my club's summer competitions start again, when we have the whole of the summer evenings to look forward to... and I'm only 16!!

@CarolinasPGApro I wish i would have thought of that. i got married one week before the Maters and live in Augusta. This would be great music for the Groom and family to enter to. Oh i am kiccking my self
This gives me absolute goosebumps. I will ALWAYS associate this tune with sitting with my dad on sunday watching the great ones play. Such a memory for so many fathers and sons.
Tiger will play in the Masters but his reputation is ruined. Blood Spining will always leave room for doubt. Steroids have brought down so may sports champions and I feel HGH will claim another.
one of my most favorite songs of all time... i love agusta and all that the masters has given to the game... this actually brought a tear to my eay... its somthing that all young golfers dream of.. i have made that winning put a hundred time... what a course what a tournement
what a beautiful song............... I love the Masters because it is the one place in pro golf that is like a coming back home feeling. The Masters unlike other tournaments is played at the same course and I love that.
It's almost like The Masters is a rite of spring. I also associate the tournament with Easter, since some of the most memorable tournaments have been on Easter Sunday (Mickelson finally winning, O'Meara's winning putt, etc.)
Can anyone post any of the tunes CBS and NBC golf use like the NBC US Open and PGA Tour main themes, as well as all their stings and other tunes they use during the coverage? CBS golf as well, they always have great music.
that song is for the bishop mcnamara high school the 2004-2007 and for Sean Taylor who pass away two years ago. I cry for my oldest brother because i don't want him to leave me with the whole family and I Really going to miss him for going to university of new haven, i am really going to the Mustangs and Sean Taylor.
Its actually 56 minutes of golf in every hour...but other then that I couldn't agree more with everything you said...the only bad thing about the Masters is that the greatest golf tournament of them all is early in the season...the rest of the golf year is nothing compared to that tradition unlike any other...the Masters on CBS.
Well part of it is that it's actually a "song". Most other themes are that. "Themes". This is a song. It has words, but we only hear the instrumental for the Masters...Beautiful piece...
this song is by far the greatest theme song out there, no only is it perfect for the masters but it gives people up here in the north east good feelings that summer is on the way
Your sentiment rings so true, because it does have a gentle melody that reflects the early springtime. For golfers, it means the season will begin in earnest and only serves to feed that insatiable desire to get out there.
"Augusta" by Dave Loggins. There are actually words to the song, too. It was inspired by a trip of his to Augusta in 1980. Maybe it's just because I'm not used to it but I like the instrumental version better. Sorry, Dave...
I have loved the Masters since I was little. Fond, fond memories of watching it with my dad (who just recently passed too). Cheering for Nicklaus, Norman, Fuzzy... all the greats!
I wanted to use this music in my wedding when I was young!! Thanks for posting!! Go Padraig!
my dad and i were great masters fans, he and my mom wintered in Aiken S.C. and i'm a teacher and spring break was always a treat for my dad and i to go see the masters this will be my first year without that compnionship ,as my dad passed away on december 12 2008 it's gonna be hard driving down there and going out there this year he loved the game of golf so much!!!!
Golfercarguy.... Man you dont know how you took the words right out of my mouth. Me and my brother lost our dad on January 13th this year. We LOVED the Masters and it will be MOST difficult to hear that song again when it comes on. Love to chat if you would like.. Please look at my dads video I did on Youtube. Search RICHARD LEE TILLEY You will see our pic at the Masters on there. I did this video for his funeral.
Golferguy.....damn it, I never get emotional when it come to youtube videos and the comments that I read, but I read your post and my eyes started to well up (as they are now) and words can't describe how sorry I am for your loss. I know it's not the same but when you walk past Amen Corner, your dad will be right there with you every step of the way! Take care of your self and know that we would want you to enjoy every minute of the Masters! God Bless!!
I need to thank you for this. It is the one song that makes me feel happy to be alive. I need this song always. Best time alive is to watch this coverage wall to wall. Just tremendous.
Written by a Nashville Songwritters Hall of Famer by the name of David "Dave" Loggins. A cousin of Kenny Loggins. Better known for his song "Please Come To Boston"
I can hear Pat Summerall/Jim Nantz talking over this right now giving the score rundown or welcoming the new champ to the Butler Cabin. Thanks for posting.
OUTSTANDING! Well done, I've been searching for that (musical only version) for 5 years. Posted one a few months ago but only 18 seconds long, thats all I could record off the t.v. Excellent job.
I dont usually count the days until the next masters, usually the next major, and then after the PGA championship, I count down the days till the next masters.

only three sponsors.
no network promos during coverage (ESPN/CBS can't even run promos during the commercial breaks).
old school graphics.
"second cut" and "patrons" instead of "rough" and "fans".
pat summerall introducing jim nantz.
this song.
it doesn't get any better!

Beautiful!!!! Best sports theme song ever just so peaceful and relaxing.

What's the name of this song?

I get the chills whenever I hear this song...A lot of "themes" for sports on TV are kind of corny but this one if by far the best...

I have loved the Masters since I was little. Fond, fond memories of watching it with my dad (who just recently passed too). Cheering for Nicklaus, Norman, Fuzzy... all the greats!
I wanted to use this music in my wedding when I was young!! Thanks for posting!! Go Padraig!

If embalming fluid made music as it dripped into a corpse, this is what it would sound like.

Best Regards and God Bless!

God Bless!!

I don't know if golf theme music should ever bring a tear to your eye, but this almost does. Dave Loggins' piece is so incredibly captivating.
