One of the questions about Shakatak will be why it hits so greatly in Japan. The answer I as a Japanese can think of is that the songs, not singings by Shakatak are just SUPERB and don't need to understand but just to FEEL.

It became a topic among young people who were looking for new fusion music and popularity in early 80's.
It's called " British Funk " in japan. I think that the melody to say nothing of their techniques suited the Japanese.
