  • This is and will be my funeral song. I will make sure this title is in my 'will' document. Its so beautiful... Good for reminiscing in memories

  • Just close your eyes and listen to this...

  • oh sweet fiddle, enchant me with your magical aura of musical perfection...!

  • Someone actually disliked this.. This makes me feel both sad and mad. How can someone dislike such a wonderfull piece of music?

  • play this on my funeral!

  • People say, i wish hear that in a mountain and things..i wish it too, but we all know thats not possible for us, with the globalization, live in a mountain, with animals, without computers, fast food, cars, were really nice, but its not possible, not more.. ;(((

  • @TheSipknot first of it all: u can. thousands of squaremiles in canada are nothing but wilderness. second: without the all-so-bad internet u would prob never ever heard of eluveitie. there are things going bad...rly bad. but i dont wanna miss the technological developments.

  • @Jadawin89 yeah bro, i know it, thechnology is good..but try to think in a world without cars, with more green and less gray. i dont wanna miss techonological developments too, but i only think in a better world. but now, there's no way to a better world.

  • @TheSipknot He watch the movie "Into the wild!" or the Serie "Long Way Round" It is hard but possible. There are such people out there.

  • Oh, man.. As soon as I heard the start the first thing I said was *beautiful* and it is..

I'm proud that I have a different music taste then others. I love this type of music, music is everyone's life blood in a way.

This band will go far, they perfect every song they've made. It really does get me emotion at times.

  • everything is relative, its easier living today but most of us dont feal fulfilled and chase fools gold till our death bed, its the ability to take joy in the simple pleasures that make life feal wholesome. go fishing with your son, hunting with your dog, see and seek the beuty of nature, i used to be depressed thinking i live in the wrong age but there no point dwelling on that, yes polictics are a joke and money and greed based societies but thats the way of man, was always and always will be.

  • This reminds me of the hills of Appalachia

  • i see what qwerty is saying. but as for izzymosin, if 'elders' werent so arrogant as yourself, maybe you would be shown respect.

  • A nice find, I found!

  • metal isn't meant for commercial success(leave that to rap/hip hop)metal is meant for the underground.

  • GREAT NOW I HAVE TO GO FIND Simoneetrange's POST!

  • The sentiment of @qwerty63416341 is totally understandable. Yes, we should not romanticize too heavily the difficult road of civilization, but I think the point of his/her comment is a shift in perspectives: working for actual personal happiness and survival instead of working to line the pockets of the already-rich, finding joy in simplicity instead of on various electron-emitting screens, and being in the present instead of always looking in the future. It's a good, and sadly rare, thought.

  • Hey, can someone translate Anagantios?;]

  • This is an old Irish tune called Star of the County Down.....

  • I listened to this song for the first time when I was in the Navy and as I was leaving my home port for a longgg deployment, the ship was increasing speed and the shores got smaller. The horror....

  • i love it

  • Just sit with your eyes closed to this song, it is so beautiful i felt like crying at the end

  • FUCKING AWESOME

  • This song reminds me of walking in a rain storm, and the story Fearnot. I love it.

  • beautiful music

  • Wonderful song. I wish, it would not end so abruptly.

  • This song isnt long enough

  • Which album is this from I want it.

  • @qwu2 Slania

  • i cry

  • you realize how good it was to live among people who also played the music .... you caress the ears and says exactly what you wanted to hear .... how much I wish I lived and I in those days ...

  • i really love this amazing song.......

    saludos desde españa!

  • rien que de fermer les yeux je revois les peuplades de l'ancien temps dans leur quotidien. Eluveitie nous fait voyager dans le passé pour mieux conaitre notre future

  • this song puts emotions into my heart O.O its soo good!!

  • hey guys, i don't wanna make metal more popular, i wanna enjoy it!

  • @schmud9la exactly, can you imagine how awfull it would be if everyone liked metal?

  • All hail to METAL, the music of FREEDOM

  • My final request as for now to whoever it may concern for my ceremony of honor after I depart this world. Have this song played for a time of remembrance when all have gathered to pay their respects. Furthermore, bury me with a two edged sword at my side and my Bible in hand. If God permits it lay me to rest in a withdrawn clearing away by myself in a forest of oak trees. Wherever I lay mark this place with a Celtic cross carved of stone.
  • I seriously fucking want this on my funreal. The autumn leaves fall quietly and slowly, as the bride throws the ashes of the deceased into the wind, what softly carries it into the nearby lake... Everything is tranquil, yet sad.

    In Eluveitie, we trust.

  • @matejoto you expect to die in Autumn? Or you are going to make it so that you do die during Autumn? o.O

  • @XantinovaX I MAY die in autumn. But i will do my best to make it not happen.

....You may be talkig to a dead man now. lol.

  • Przepiękna muzyka.

  • 14 people goes to reggaeton/pop ways.

This is a metal band, but they have some songs like this, or like isara, etc.

  • This is amazing! A great soundtrack for traveling in the Highlands ;)

  • sounds like somthing from lord of the rings, but its very beautiful :)

  • I wish i could go to the place that this song puts in my head and never come back. I can almost feel the nip in the air.

  • This would be played at my funeral as well. Its so beautiful and brings me back to memories for some odd reason. I love it.

  • This reminds me brave heart!

  • this should replace the (Last Post), as the international memorial music for fallen soldiers. its slow, its tearful, its heartfelt, it fits! and we need it alot unfortunately. this present war is lasting more than 10 years!! WW2 was only 6 years!

  • 13 deaf people tried to listen to true music.

  • @Simoneetrange one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard *-* Feels like memories from forgotten times flowing into my mind... The clear blue skies, ancient trees, wet grass, small villages , thick smoke rising from the chimneys, nothing that hurts nature... Completely agreed with your comment!

  • the song is also known as Star of the County Down

  • @007arose It's as much star of the county down as it is "the unquiet grave", and most like something in between.

  • I... I don't believe it. I'm a grown man, and i just listened to this three times and I cried. Christ, i wasn't expecting this...

It's beautiful. I'm booking a holiday for the Yorkshire Dales as I type this :D

  • This is truly riveting music, as I was sitting here, listening to this ambient song, my dad came in and said my name, and I fucking jumped xD

    This has be completely captivated.

    Thumps up if you agree!

  • This is a bond between us and Nature. Could be the melody of an ancient forest...a place where you can be alone with grass, trees, wind and sea. Don't you feel a fresh breath on your face right now?

  • does anyone know where i can find the sheet music for this?

  • Comment removed

  • @melissuhhh4 I posted links to this and another tune 5 months ago but they were removed, guess we're not supposed to post links. Anyway, the Irish name of the tune is "Star of the County Down" so google that and you'll find numerous links to both the sheet music in various keys and lyrics.

  • this song is amazing in stereo.

  • almost cried hearing this song.... my throat feels wierd.. ahh its like a trip out of the puluted and corrupted world of today

  • Put on the headphones, close your eyes and just disappear into the music. Thank you Eluveitie! Listen to it whenever I'm stressed out.

  • Dolci ricordi... bei tempi passati... è da tanto che non la sentivo.... me ne ero dimenticato che esisteva..... Amazing... excuse me... I don't speak english very welll

  • How could you dislike smth like this? It's like you're gay or smth:))

  • @OfficialSilentScream Aye, you're right. Hail from RS! That music make me remember of green rolling hills and cold, clean rivers, at the sunlight. They get the essence of the celt and turn it into music. I suppose that Metallica and Megadeth fans should end their "war"... If nobody knows what's RS, that's my state, at Southern Brazil. That's the European Brazil, I could say, it's the region that is most similar in weather and culture to the Europe...

  • @OfficialSilentScream You're top! I'd like this ideas!

  • @OfficialSilentScream How about we keep metal underground? We let people who want to explore music find it, not try and shove it down their throats. It's like trying to change someones religion, it doesn't work. In the mean time support your bands and buy Cd's and merchandise.

  • This song remind me to Braveheart!

  • *----------*

  • ahhhhh... ireland

  • @miamy1000 helvetia

  • This is bringing tears to my eyes.

  • beautiful band beautiful music. i should be seeing them tomorrow night =]

  • That's the evidence! Swiss people know how to make Metal!

Did you know that "Eluveitie" is from a old language from my ancestors? the language calls "Helvetic-Gallic" and it means: "I, the Helvetian".

I'm Swiss and always when I listen to this song i feel like I'm standing at the "Matterhorn" or at the "Dufour-Spitz", looking in the distance to the other mountains and to the villages. All around I smell the grass and the flowers and for this moment, I feel like the peace of the world is there.

  • This is my favorite of all Eluveitie's songs. Simple, yet so powerful and moving. Images of pagan celebration...a celebration of life, come to mind whenever I hear this song. Suddenly I'm taken away to another time and place, dancing around a fire under the stars with my kinfolk. And what is the pagan life....but a life of celebration?!

  • Sounds like a Highland lament - or rather a Swiss Alpine Lament. Luv it.

  • sooooo.. very soooothin...!! fantastic music...!!

  • i wish their guitarist got toshow case their skills a bit more.

  • Folk metal, Fantastic..!!!

  • is this from Braveheart?

    or am i wrong

  • @Slayer0vLight Mmm it does have a familiar tone, but I don't think it is.

  • @Slayer0vLight No,but it would be awesome if it was.

  • @Slayer0vLight it actually reminds me of some irish song i know, the melodies are really similar... but braveheart is a beautiful movie...

  • metalheads who like this song (like myself), are the ones who truly appreciate music in all it's forms

  • @bbeboutuaa I agree 100%

  • @bbeboutuaa Not only Metalheads..

There are more people that appreciate all different takes on music ;)

  • Play this on the deck of a rolling ship and you'll be taken back in time, shipmates aarrrrrr......

  • Little wayne shouldn't even have fame. These guys should have it all.

  • This song is breaking my epicradar

  • nothing like this motherfuckers.......

  • @Simoneetrange South Island of New Zealand :) It's beautiful :)

  • there are 2 songs with nearly same theme like this one... its victory song from ensiferum (ad victoriam) and where the heroes die from northland... all 3 songs are epic and flawless...

  • Es ist eines der epischsten und emotionalsten Lieder die ich je von einer Metal Band gehört hab.

Das wird zu meiner Beerdigung gespielt!

  • coming back to it again and again and it always hits the spot.beautiful.

  • Anna Murphy is incomprehensibly beautiful.

  • heyy burt2800,me too=)

  • 2:04 you can totally hear the emotions of those notes.

  • @NO11YOU No you can hear a fiddle playing.

  • @cilibinarii I mean the emphasis in those notes.

  • I love this song n__n I played this and Samon at my wedding

  • I always imagine a forest in Switzerland, two thousand years ago when I hear this, or any Eluveitie in fact. Just a great band, makes me really proud to be Swiss for once!

  • This song is awesome. Like a previous poster said it brings to my minds eye rolling green hills with white capped mountains in the distance and a cold clear river burbling swiftly over grey rocks.

  • This is one of the fairest songs I have ever heard! Truly inspirational!

  • I want this to be played at my funeral, Eluveitie are one of the very best Metal bands!

  • @burt2800 hey i was the first one to say i wanted it played at my funeral, but you can be the one to die first, jk live a long and happy life my friend, and enjoy this peaceful tune while your at it :)

  • @blitzdatmaul Thanks! XD

Yeah, I admit I copied it, but I never wanted it for thumbs ups. I like your take on that, friendly and politeness aren't usual for youtubers. Thanks again and have a nice day! =)

  • @burt2800 agreed but i can never spell or pronounce their name! :P

  • @PsycoSam2k9 It is pronounced El-way-tea.

  • @burt2800 this is what i thought first time i heared this song!!!! beautiful!

  • @burt2800 ich weiß nicht, ob du such deutsch verstehst. aber ich hab genau diesen gedanken. dieses lied soll auch auf meiner beerdigung gespielt werden! einfach weil es so schön ist!!

if you want to have this text in english...poste on my page ;)

  • @1887FreiWild Ja. Das is sehr schön!

  • I've played this tune on the fiddle for 30 years as "The Star of the County Down." There are lyrics with the same name. This is a beautiful version.

  • Im a real R&B girl but i LOVE this it is so beautiful ...

  • @CurseBetweenUs Nice. I like it when people expand their views. :)

  • @CurseBetweenUs Go and check out other songs by Eluveitie, it's really worth it!

  • @jamesjoyce77 Yes, A coincidence.

  • @jamesjoyce77 Even if the song is similar, it doesn't mean it was stolen.

  • @yopend True. But let's see. They are interested in Celtic music. The song that's very similar to their own is Irish = Celtic. It's a bit of a coincidence, wouldn't you say?

  • always i hear that i cry. (:

    is so beautiful.

  • Ich höre das grade zum 64. Mal und es ist immernoch wunderschön. :)

  • Beautiful music. I listen to this and I cry

  • What language do they speak?!

  • @LoveMetal5 the language they speak is not spoken anymore, it's some old Celtic tongue, it was spoken before switzerland was what it is, a lot of bands do this, i think it's really cool to pick a dead language and use it in your music.

  • @btown346 i'm pretty sure the language they use is called Gaulish... are there other bands who use dead languages? what are some of their names? i just discovered this band today and i'm absolutely loving the genre...

metal never ceases to amaze me \m/>.<\m/

  • @yankeedude252 yes , it is gaulish, and other bands you ask? um, im pretty sure fintroll does sometimes, Korpiklaani does this funny chant like thing (forget what it's called), i mean, it's not like gaulish but it's still cool, if you really like folk metal, listen to Ensiferum, Korpiklaani, Heidevolk, Eluveitie, Fintroll, theres a lot more i can show you, Folk metal is probably my favourite genre of music, it's full of talent.

  • @btown346

    you are fucking right :D

"Folk metal is probably my favourite genre of music, it's full of talent."

  • crap

  • I want this song to be played at my funeral.

  • @blitzdatmaul same

  • This is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. It makes me think of pagan celebrations--and what is that, but a celebration of life itself? When I hear this song it takes me somewhere else, with the Lord and Lady...in my sacred circle where time stands still, I play for the Goddess and my heart sings...

  • @AnarchistDarwinist Have you ever done LARP? It equals the fun of epic battles, without the pain though. I did it with 400 people in total, i was carrying a battle axe ( of course ) and wore full chain armor, it was definetly worth the trouble. you should try it!

  • @jamesjoyce77 fuck off you troll

  • @btown346 Oh dear. Your manners are just about like your intelligence. Nil. May I ask you the reason for your language? Assuming you have enough words at your disposal beyond profanities to clarify that, that is.

  • @btown346 Ps. If I have to explain what I have just written, just let me know, eh?

  • @jamesjoyce77 /care

  • @jamesjoyce77 i could see the resemblance, but this version is way way better then that one. Just sayin.

  • @BringithTheWine I agree wholeheartedly with you, I'm not arguing. And I even like the band and their experiments (otherwise I wouldn't have landed here). I only found it unsettling that they passed this one off as their own. Had they given the original credit I wouldn't have had any objection.

  • @jamesjoyce77 idk bout that, the irish song you said doesnt sound anything like it

  • Comment removed

  • @blitzdatmaul No, I suppose if you're deaf it doesn't.

  • Comment removed

  • @jamesjoyce77 how do you know that the Irish didn't steal it from the Gauls?

  • i love the violins the best parts are when all three of them hit the same not...truely beautifull

  • their best acoustic song, hands down.

  • best

  • @AnarchistDarwinist Okay if you mean :D

and don´t worri I don´t wanna kill you I just say we can´t emagin how brutal and gruel so and battle whas

  • This song gives me shivers all over my body. Its so beautiful

  • @AnarchistDarwinist and don't tell me i don't know what freedom is. you are trying to be wise, it isn't working. I know what freedom is.

  • @AnarchistDarwinist You say that you love something you have never experienced. War and terror sound good from here- they clean up the population and kill the weak. That is what an ignorant person thinks of it- someone like you. The truth behind it is not glorious, it is death in it's most wastefull form and you should be ashamed of yourself for acting like such a dumbass, because if one person you love and respect was killed in an exploding bus you'd sew your mouth shut.

  • @AnarchistDarwinist I feel sorry for you...my country was in the war, the war we didn't want, my friends lost their fathers, my father and my uncles are ill today because that war they didn't die fortunately..still, I believe that peacefull race will prevail while the war-lovings kill each other and leave the rest of us alone finally...since it's obvious we won't learn what is peace on Earth, not in our lifetime anyway...and many of those who don't want war will pay the ultimate price in the end

  • @AnarchistDarwinist and Celts also fought some counquering wars, they couldn't spread their way all across the Europe otherwise... Any kind of war is wrong, we are all brothers, we should be at least, I don't want to kill anyone for my honor or my glory or take someones' land... that's all I wanted to say...sorry for making it so..I don't know what word to use..stay in peace brother...

  • @AnarchistDarwinist I know the difference...my point was that there shouldn't be any kind of warfare...for honor or glory and or especially for wealth or conquering land, which is btw. the reason why celts were defeated, while they were concentrated on their honor and glory romans took their land and took their lands, so I don't think that then the war was all about honor and glory...tell that to Persians, Alexander the Great, Romans..

  • @AnarchistDarwinist I cane see you in my mind in a battle 1200 years ago haha you piss your self and cry for your mother...and before you get angry on me i sat just behind you and pray:-P

  • @AnarchistDarwinist So then you have to ask yourself what is more justified. Killing people for "honor and glory", as you say, or killing people because you will gain something for it. There is only one reason to fight in my mind, and that is for freedom.

  • I hate metal with a passion but I really appreciate it when metal musicians channel their talent into something like this. Very few acoustic songs that I've heard can match this.

  • lol is der song scheise xD

  • @topgamer115 Wow, eine Jungfrau.

  • Immer, wenn ich depri bin, hör' ich das. Danach geht's mir einfach toll. Wie ein sanftes Meeresrauschen, dass deine Seele spült.

  • No words... I love this one...

  • Ah the days when battle was for glory and freedom, when it was man to man, clan to clan instead of organization to organization.

  • @scottscwalker what was the difference..if clans weren't fighting, and stood united allways, Celts and all their tribes would probably still be as strong and numerous as they were in those days...I only wish it would be like that, but those days are over...and I am not Celt but Croat and our days will be gone as well and in the same way if we don't change way of life..no battle should be fought...but in the sport field...

  • Simply amazing, Inspiring..

There is something spiritual about this..

  • my favorite acoustic song of theirs ;D

  • lol Can the person who called it techno hear the music what is playing? Thats very far from Techno even with the age of the music! anys the music si so beautiful and peaceful! Eluveitie keep the good stuff up! :)

  • does anyone else find it ironic/strange/funny or anything that Eluveitie a celtic band with gaulish lyrics gets comments in spanish a latin based language that aren't hateful?

  • @MadManSnake0 you know that galician is a lantin lenguage too, and galicia is considered a gaelic nation???.....
