It's actually the original new generation GTO... It's called a Vauxhall Monaro vxr, which IS made in Australia. When they imported them to america's GM they called it the GTO. So technically it IS australian... either way still some bad ass muscle

the gto and monaro are the same car realy just different makes... a monaro is a holden(australian) and a gto is a pontiac(american)....but yer it is a bit weird that there both look the same..(same interior,exterior and engine)...i dono who copyed who on that one

ok now i know why u might have got a bit confused...the title of this video say's gto so the person how posted this video probs wasnt australian so they call is a gto...but the car there was a monaro coz if you listen the track is in easten creek, which is a race track on the easten side of australia....

@holden1234567891011 OHH ARE YOU FOR REAL!!! It was designed here in Aust dude! Holden exports them to America (well they did before GM had $ issues). Then you will see now that all the new commodores have the "pontiac G8" front end on them as a "special edition" because Holden had heaps of stock that Pontiac couldnt afford to buy anymore -

they're all monaros rebadged to be Pontiacs and Vauxhall's.

Now they rebadge commodores and call them Pontiac G8's or Vauxhall VXR8's.

Yes mate, it was an australian event. It is pretty much the same as the Pontiac GTO, except in australia its made by Holden and called the Monaro.
