  • This song was first done my the great Patzy Cline in the 50s. I believe Lori's is even better. Absolutely beautiful!!

  • @Raybosh2000

Patsy Cline never did this song. The original recording was Jeannie Seely. She won a Grammy for it in 1966.

  • @nutcase1969

It would sound like a great Patsy Cline song, but she never recorded it. I should know cause I have every song Patsy ever did :-) It was Jeannie Seely cause I have that as well ;-)

  • @esacnitsuj1

I know that Patsy never did it. I was replying to someone who said that Patsy sang it. The song was written by Hank Cochran who later married Jeannie Seely. Hank Cochran did write a Patsy song. He and Harlan Howard (who was married to Jan Howard) co-wrote "I Fall to Pieces." Jan Howard sang the demo for it. Jan's hit, "Evil on Your Mind" was a Grammy nominee when Jeannie Seely won for "Don't Touch Me."

  • @nutcase1969

I meant this reply for someone else, Sorry for the mistake ;-)

  • Great artist doing a great song.

  • What other reason would I have to be in the same room with you?

  • Lorrie Morgan is just the best that any trained voice can be! Alright?...She's also multi on the talented thing, by a great distance, shut up!!!

  • Tammy recorded this song. It's one of her best onesl

  • how come they never play lorrie morgan on the radio anymore??

  • Just proves Lorrie can sing anything as good as the original. Played Jeannie Sealy's version first, then Lorrie, both are good. Lorrie is one of my favorite singers. She keeps the soulful country that in her music and that's my kind of country.

  • Lorrie Morgan is a very classy lady who can SING!!!!!!!!!!!

  • First time I ever heard this song I was in Wichita Falls, Texas going through Air Force Tech School. I ended up playing this song in a band some 20 years later backing up a singer on steel guitar that tore this song up. Man........hearing this makes me really miss that chick and that time of my life. Thanks Lorrie

  • sorry but this songis jeannie seely's only no one else can sing it

  • @TheFrankieDee Youre so right....no one can or ever will sing it like Jeannie Seely..you have to put your heart and soul and every tear you can cry into this song and Jeannie did that...Make my heart ache all over again when I hear her sing it...

GOD BLESS and I pray that neither of us ever have to relive the pain of this song in our lives.......Sandy

  • Lorrie can do it all....she does such an honor to Jeannie Seely's 1966 original...still gives me chills everytime I hear it..thanks for posting..

  • I have tammy wynette singing this i wish i could upload it but it infringes copyright but i have dottie west singing it on my channel, lorrie does a great job on this.

  • Great job with this version by Lorrie!

  • Lorrie is in a class that few singers attain. She just gets better every time I play one of her songs!

  • Okay, I confess I think, in my humble opinion, that Lorrie Morgan is the sexeist Lady in MUSIC today. Her voice is so remarkable.. Her look. mmmm. Lorrie is in my opinion the greatest.

  • I`ve played behind Dottie West on this song years ago, But this version is wonderful, Go get um Lorrie

    Dan

  • great song Lorrie

  • classic, awsome, moving, believable, .... wow

  • Can't ya just feel this song? What woman has not been in "her shoes" (no pun intended)?

  • i would like someone to do this to eurodance music, i believe lorrie's vocals and songs would be very exciting to eurodance, does anyone else agree, that country music and eurodance would be beautiful together?

  • OK, you may be onto something. Most of us country bumpkins are not really familiar with "Eurodance." Give me some examples . . .

  • check my channel for eurodance, for me the best sounds are patrick miller europop, eurodance, and brazilian eurodance, they are jumpy, exciting sounds, i believe country music songs, vocals and eurodance sounds will be an exciting mix

  • I adore Lorie and this song is so beautifully done by her. I play it over and over on her CD! Thanks for sharing it

  • Just listned to Ms.Seely's version, and was floored ...and now again by Lorries tribute. Classic Nashville in the blood of both...it shows.

Where can I find the Possum and Wilma Burgess versions? And please, who wrote it?

  • Hank Garland

  • Ty 2d Fret!

I' m catching up on Garland and his list of credits asap.

  • Originally done by Jeannie Seely in 1966. This version is a bit more refined, but the original is still the best.

  • This woman is soooooooooo beautiful and has such a wonderful beautiful voice. I could listen to her sing all day and night. Hell I am gay and would go out with her and fall in love with her.. She is awesome and a great talent. Just listen to her sing, Secret Love, WOW

  • Well... Harrison Ford got Anne Heche "straightened" out. Maybe Lorrie could do the same for you. I understand she's single again. Just a thought. :)

  • lol this is the first time i hear this very beautiful!

  • I have been unable to get the George Jones version. Got any ideas where I could get it ,because,I love the song.thanks for the info.

  • Sorry. I've got George Jones" version on cassette tape and for the life of me I can't recall which one of his CDs is came off of. It was one of his from the mid nineties, and there was another real good song that he sang on it called "I CAN LIVE FOREVER" A gospel song but such a great one !

  • The very best version of this "chilling" song I've heard.super dad super daughter super country!!

  • Try to find George Jones' version. It's the best one I've EVER heard, EVEN better than the original recorded by the GREAT Jeannie Seeley.

  • What a great singer and song

  • She is so classy and beautiful, she was married to Kieth whitley and he died at 33 from alcohol poisoning. shame... but we still got our Lorrie !!

  • You re not a little boy, at 45 you re a man. You have more life experience than these let s put someone down. I respect that. Thank You. By your comment I can tel you are someone of character. You think your own thoughts. Damn I get into trouble for that. Anyway. People blame Lorrie for Keith's dealth. Sad, isn t it. Will people blame my wife for mine. Keith and I have the same demon. Pity. I battle mine daily. Lorrie was not the problem. Put the blame where it belongs.

  • Most beautiful. 5 stars.

  • such a classy beautiful song, and Lorrie does it justice for sure, has always been one of my favs by her... where did she go? she is too talented to fall out of the country scene alltogether? shame...

  • This is an old sond from Jeanne Sealyback in the 60's Cochran her husband then wrote this for her. Isn't it beautiful. And Lorrie does it up good

    berni

  • lorrie , i feel your play in the plays of the sea

  • Lovely song! Does anyone know on which cd it can be found?

  • It's on her War Paint CD.. very good CD by the way. Hope you like it.

  • An Old Country DJ in Ft. Myers Fl told me years ago that Wilma was a leading lezbo in Nashville.

  • That would make Wilma proud Iam sure!!!!*****

  • There's a touch of the Tammy's about her voice. I love all those old style country voices, so much more soulfull than the modern ones.

  • @nicaisleain I would say people like Lorrie can actually sing unlike pretty much all the modern singers who use computers to make their voice sound ~ok~ ?? lol autotune made it to where anyone can become a star singer without any talent... SAD!

  • Lorrie Morgan, you have done Jeannie proud on this great hit song. You're a very soulful singer as well, & a favorite of mine. Thanks for keeping that traditional sound going. We love hearing you in the Bluegrass State.

  • @usmale452 ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITES , THANK YOU

  • fab song great singer

  • Thanx, Junkbuggy, it's true, you do learn something new everyday! I've never heard of Wilma Burgess until now. I'm going to try and find her version of this BEAUTIFUL Song.

  • I love to listen to her sing; however, Jeannie Seely and Wilma Burges are the masters of this very beautiful love song.

  • Without a doubt, one of the GREATEST Country Songs - ( Torch Category ) ever composed. Performed originally by the LOVELY and TALENTED Jeannie Seely but here the almost as LOVELY and superbly TALENTED Lorrie Morgan does the Song justice. Ain't she something !!!

  • I remember when this was first released by Jeanne Seely back in the 60's. I told my friend a DJ that it was going to the top of the charts with a bullit, and it did. And it made Jeanne a star. Bernising--Lorrie is great on it .
