I just watched it.

The film skips along leaving you to envisage the "in-between the scenes" bits, and especially the ending. I felt a little bit robbed of the ending.

This would have a been a great film if it was 4 hours long, and because it felt so short, I found it to be little half hearted and unfulfilled.

With that in mind, Its Definitely worth watching.

I watched this last night...Considering that it was only released in the UK it wasn't too bad. but Sean Bean seemed to out stage the others due to his past films whereas the main character could have put a little more effort into his lines. The story line was decent but the ending was quite sudden and left me feeling unsatisfied.

@oliverable1997 Because at the start of the war we didn't have a sub machine gun that's why, the Sten didn't enter service in numbers until late 1941, the Thompson was the weapon of choice for the Commandos even after this weapon became available.

@ezrawwedp Luftwaffe got like the 10 best aces of all time during WW2. The red baron..and Waffen SS aswell is remembered as one of the best fighting units of all time. But indeed...you don't put the german soldiers in a good light as a hero bcuz what they did was wrong. And a crime to humanity. @Deathroll1988 Don't talk shit, British and US documentaries do not and have never branded all Germans as evil, Hitler, the Nazi leadership and the SS yes, but never have I ever heard anything remotely like that on any doc I have ever watched. Yes there were heroes in the German forces, but that depends on what your definition of a hero is, a tank ace? A high scoring U-Boat commander? Or someone who risks their life rescuing a friend from a burning tank.

Just watched this, Easily forgettable in my opinion, Would the SAS ever go into the mountains of Norway without winter camoflage? Action scenes are reasonable however on two occasions in the film where special effects/CGI are just laughable, I could do better on my PC.

The film leaves too many questions un answered almost as if it was was cut short. What happened to the Major who was left behind. Not even any captions to explain at the end of the film. Very Lazy and only mildly entertaining.

@nqsam Well at the begging of the war Britain did not have a Sub-Machine gun so they bought a large number of Thompsons from The US and then I think in 1941 (not sure) Britain came up with the Lancaster and the Sten gun which was produced in large numbers and naturally the commandos adopted them but for the time begging commandos just stuck with the Thompsons .... in the trailler the also use Lee Enflieds which are British wepons ;)
