I will have Thom Yorke's baby.
But I am man. But he is man. But still I will pay 30 shillings for his sperm specimen to implant into my house-maid and she will bear his child and I will call him my own. If said child is born a girl, I will dispose of it like so many Chinese folk do. She will be dropped off in a mailbox-type container to be picked up by Western couples whose men have a low sperm count or women who have inconceivable (fat) body structures, because men cannot have sex with fat women
whenever u see them play they get really into it Johnny goes berserk with the delay and phil just rocks his way outa there colins chillin and ed just grooving in the backround its freaken awesome!!
every radiohead member pretty much knows how to play every instrument .. so they should change their roles Thom on lead,Phil on 2nd guitar,Jonny on drums,Ed on bass, and of course the man Colin.. lead voclas and rhythm guitar.
you can download it for free. "giglinkdump radiohead" google these words and you`ll find free Radiohead bootlegs` site. and there`s more than you need!:)
Not sure about the venue. Yes, Paris France gig for TV. April 28, 2001. This show and the special "Later... with Jools Holland" TV shows were a blessing. Great to see the live arrangements of this material.
From the point where the ship enters the storm at 2:57, to the point where finally makes it through the storm at 3:57, Radiohead produce probably one of their most intense single minutes of music ever captured on film.
...and how tight is it that Thom's head makes that big motion at the first clap of thunder at 2:57 as if to say "batten down the hatches".
"Lundy/Fastnet/Irish Sea, i got a message i can't read"...."i'm lost at sea"...and the ship barely makes it back to harbor. brilliance
Whoa man, I don't know where all the ship talk came (okay, I know, the lost at sea bit) but this is an incredibly well written comment, on Youtube, and that alone is worth appreciation in itself.
I hope you don't mind, but I'm using most of this comment as my sig line in my diaries & comments around the tubz. Too good and too true to not be read by many many people (the part about aliens & making RH play every night). I'll even credit ya
I dont think that there will be any group as that good as radiohead any soon .. its like with pink floyd .. once every two decades you have such a group
like how jonny's chord progression keeps creeping up on the song. that repetition is what grounds this song, keeps it from disappearing in atmosphere, as some of radiohead's weaker songs--Go Slowly is a good example--do.
Watch all of these performances in order and the intensity just grows and grows. It swells with emotion. Look up"Radiohead Kid A" live for the whole performance list.
I know the reason!! But please, nobody has to know what I'm about to say: Radiohead is the best band in the world and makes such good music because...
This version shits all over the studio take. A band would have be sickeningly good to be able to pull this off live, let alone this good, and they do it completely effortlessly. The shit Jonny does, just...wow.
one would think any attempt to reproduce songs off kid a to play them live would be not as good as the studio versions, but of course, radiohead never ceases to amaze, the live versions are even better
...ive been playing the guitar for less than three weeks and I was able to play this full speed after literally twenty minutes of practice. its really easy, but really good.
Words can seriously not describe how other-worldly this song really is. It gives me the chills absolutely every single time I listen to it. Every little mundane detail of it adds up to this horrifically chilling song.
This song is extremely visual and kind of dark, am I the only one that eveytime listening to this song is like imagining a beach in Mexico but with nobody around you and the sky has a kind of a yellow-orange morbid colour, like if it was the end of the earth
holy shit im not lying when i say thats almost exactly what i see when i close my eyes listening to this an dclosing my eyes, its just one of those, "end of everything" songs that takes you away with it
ya but the time signatures in this song are difficult. and who cares if its two fingers. everyone in radiohead besides phil (havent it seen it yet) can play more than 1 instrument and thats whats important.
Phil actually does play more then percussion. In a group called 7 worlds collide he plays guitar and sings. Ed also makes cameos with this group. Its not radiohead by any means, but not bad.
Lol so basically all of them then :D Same here, I think there is not one member of Radiohead that isn't vital to the band and it's sound. Which is pretty unusual. Phil gets a fair amount of abuse on the interwebs, altho to be fair I think thats mainly from the kinds of people who think that music is a competition e.g. Who can play fastest, loudest, most complicated etc. I don't think those people really understand music at all.
fucking right man!!!!! phil is the perfect drummer period. he gets the point across without haveing to do all that flashy bullshit, im in a band and i fucking HATE my drummer(as a musician, not a person), he's a self-absorbed prick, phil is just as much a genius as any of em!!!!!
get your drummer into jazz, or just get a jazz trained drummer who likes your genre. jazz drummers can be great without smashing the shit out of the kit and when they get 'louder' it's always controlled. accents and dynamics are a key part of drumming not playing really fast. good luck with the band
I never really appreciated (or "got", almost) this song until I saw this video. This concert seems to be one of the best recorded I've seen of theirs.
WTF? what's you're problem. Its great music and it doesn't sound like that it sounds like a great band making great music. You must not have done any psychedelics yet...could explain why you're so fucked up.
radiohead is amazing in that without being jazz rock, they actually capture that feeling. that feeling that there are multiple conversations happening at the same time and even though you like whats being said over here you keep showing interest in whats going on over there. its like the words dildo, christ, cookie monster, and terrorist all overlapping from different conversations and realising the painful truth that your brain is overwhelmed yet the uniqueness is beautiful and shocking. haha.
The first half of this song is so fucking sultry...
...it's like what Chris Isaac was TRYING to do in "Wicked Game" but didn't pull off as well...because In Limbo isn't sultry in the traditional sense...it's more like it invokes all these sorta sexy but sorta dark vibes...and your brain isn't sure if it is sexy or scary...my buddy Jim says it's "like a really sexy ghost" lol.
