  • This song changed my life the first time i listened to it.

Actually Kid A changed my life the first time i listened to it.

  • radiohead is god

  • Yep, I'm in the same boat. Actually, when I first bought this album, I completely hated it. It was the weirdest thing I had ever listened to.

Now I can't stop listening to it - it really grows on you.

  • I think this describes EVERY radiohead song.

  • I remember listening to this song with my headphones on and it changed my life cause it's so damn original

  • Is like a drug, i feel high when i listen to that song with my headphones!!!

  • yup im totally in Limbo right now just another Amazing performance from the all mightiness that is RADIOHEAD..

''CHRONIC Bong hits got me in Limbo right now lol...''

    EXCELLENT

  • Which live performance is this clip from? I wanna buy it.

  • one of the most perfect live performances of any band I've ever seen...the way they just slip into a groove like THAT so comfortably

  • Gotta agree there. I used to listen to the recorded versions and think, "man, how can these guys ever perform it this good, live?"

Listening to this, I think it sounds just as good, if not better.

  • dear Lord this is unbelievable

  • tom yorke reminds me van gogh painted by picasso. fisically and intelectually, esquiso genious. jokes aside, this song sounds infinitly better live, i am always humbled by these gentlemen playing, a perfect democracy, each making his part for benifit of the all

  • hahaha Not really Van Gogh, without an ear he was not good for music, it ´s for what he worked painting haha, just teasing, anyway I really miss the old Radiohead :S The only band I love like radiohead actually, is one hiting strong in some Italians radiostations not being a million dollar production has a very interesting stuff. Search SWAVE IN THE FUTURE and u will understand what I mean ;)

  • ROFLMFAO

  • no this is they're best track..............

  • The piano really binds the different sound-layers together... amazing

  • хуйня а не музыка !

  • 3:48

    Love seeing them playing together!

  • btw what guitar is thom playing ???

  • Gibson ES 125-T

  • love the guitar part with the triplets.

    it just fits perfectly

  • i reckon its got to be one of their best tracks

  • Yeah its so enigmatic, my fave Radiohead album aswell

  • LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • my fav live version

  • whoa! no telecaster! you so crazy jonny!

  • it's a starcaster!

  • good to know! thanks!

  • gotta love the way that rhodes sounds

  • i very much like this song..............

  • I love how it sounds when he says: "You're living in a fannntasy".

  • whenever u see them play they get really into it Johnny goes berserk with the delay and phil just rocks his way outa there colins chillin and ed just grooving in the backround its freaken awesome!!

  • Straordinari!

  • i love radiohead dur

  • every radiohead member pretty much knows how to play every instrument .. so they should change their roles Thom on lead,Phil on 2nd guitar,Jonny on drums,Ed on bass, and of course the man Colin.. lead voclas and rhythm guitar.

  • never knew ed played keys

  • guitar paradise

  • you can download it for free. "giglinkdump radiohead" google these words and you`ll find free Radiohead bootlegs` site. and there`s more than you need!:)

  • does anyone know the date and venue for this gig?

    it would be really appreciated!

  • this is from the canal+ gig, recorded for french tv around the release of amnesiac i think.

  • thanks so much for the info lightlightblack & romelovesdan!

  • Not sure about the venue. Yes, Paris France gig for TV. April 28, 2001. This show and the special "Later... with Jools Holland" TV shows were a blessing. Great to see the live arrangements of this material.

  • sex for your ears

  • look up "the present tense" by thom yorke.

  • Comment removed

  • I don't know why but the lead guitar riffs sound so sleazy and sexy at the same time.

  • YEAH!

  • From the point where the ship enters the storm at 2:57, to the point where finally makes it through the storm at 3:57, Radiohead produce probably one of their most intense single minutes of music ever captured on film.

...and how tight is it that Thom's head makes that big motion at the first clap of thunder at 2:57 as if to say "batten down the hatches".

"Lundy/Fastnet/Irish Sea, i got a message i can't read"...."i'm lost at sea"...and the ship barely makes it back to harbor. brilliance

  • Whoa man, I don't know where all the ship talk came (okay, I know, the lost at sea bit) but this is an incredibly well written comment, on Youtube, and that alone is worth appreciation in itself.

    Plus I completely agree haha.

  • Good point, i think if aliens came down from space and killed everybody, they would spare Radiohead and make them play every night.

I feel sorry for anyone who dislike Radiohead..... you just don't get it

  • I hope you don't mind, but I'm using most of this comment as my sig line in my diaries & comments around the tubz. Too good and too true to not be read by many many people (the part about aliens & making RH play every night). I'll even credit ya

  • I hope Radiohead give us at least a couple more albums! but after in Rainbows and Videotape? I think that song was a goodbye song....

  • But have you all heard the

NEW SONG by Radiohead on youtube called Supercolider? Say maybe im just too stoned to know, stuck here in limbo.

  • they're making a new album.. chill.

  • There will never be a band like this again.

  • I dont think that there will be any group as that good as radiohead any soon .. its like with pink floyd .. once every two decades you have such a group

  • Kid A is probably one of the best albums ever written. Radiohead wrote Kid A in 2000. They were and still are WAY ahead of their time.

I can't really choose one track which stands out in Kid A. The whole album is genius.

  • this is literaly in limbo

  • agreed.

  • thats weird

  • like how jonny's chord progression keeps creeping up on the song. that repetition is what grounds this song, keeps it from disappearing in atmosphere, as some of radiohead's weaker songs--Go Slowly is a good example--do.

  • This makes my mind drift back and away... forever... I've lost my way...

  • This could actually be my favourite Radiohead live performance actually. So dreamy.

  • Just perfect.

    When was this?

  • april 2001, from the live at canal plus

  • Amazing...love the guitar....so comforting...

  • this is beautifully done music. awesome chords and instrument choice

  • two of the most perfect riffs : )

  • damn thoms role in this song is amazing. doing the polyrythmic guitar lead, and singing at the same time with his eyes shut hes fucking amazing.

  • Where the hell is Ed?!

  • He accidentally warped himself into musical limbo during this performance. Ed has been notorious for doing this.

  • he's playing the Rhodes piano 0:25

  • One of my favorite songs

  • You're living in a fantasyyyyyy woooooooooooorld

  • I love this song off Kid A. It's really unusual

    and interesting.

  • god, i adore this song.

  • Watch all of these performances in order and the intensity just grows and grows. It swells with emotion. Look up"Radiohead Kid A" live for the whole performance list.

  • You live in a fantasy world!!

  • how does someone create such good music

  • I know the reason!! But please, nobody has to know what I'm about to say: Radiohead is the best band in the world and makes such good music because...

*the skies open and he's abducted up from earth*

  • Or

*Man utters the answer to everything and he falls to ground

  • It's called a 'creativity gene' and most modern mainstream artists are totally devoid of it.

  • no-body TELLS U

    U end up KNOWING

    _O_

  • these guys are BEYOND prophetic.

  • kid a is hung up in my room in a shrine

  • Same Question about Johnny what guitar is he playing

  • vintage fender starcaster ... best guitar EVER to be unleashed on the planet

  • Does anyone know what kind of guitar Thom is playing?

  • It's a gibson hollowbody, can't see exactly what model it is.

  • Comment removed

  • I think that's a Gibson ES-150.

  • i would always skip over the song or video whenever 'in limbo' came up;

but as soon as i fell head over heels with Kid A, i cant get enough of this song

deffinetly one of thier best albums!!!!

  • think i might prefer this to the studio version. to improve on a song like that is quite something.

this band just get better EVERYTIME i listen to them.

  • This version shits all over the studio take. A band would have be sickeningly good to be able to pull this off live, let alone this good, and they do it completely effortlessly. The shit Jonny does, just...wow.

  • one would think any attempt to reproduce songs off kid a to play them live would be not as good as the studio versions, but of course, radiohead never ceases to amaze, the live versions are even better

  • Your Living in a Fantasy.

  • the riff is insanely awesome

...ive been playing the guitar for less than three weeks and I was able to play this full speed after literally twenty minutes of practice. its really easy, but really good.

  • beautiful

  • nice job

  • Words can seriously not describe how other-worldly this song really is. It gives me the chills absolutely every single time I listen to it. Every little mundane detail of it adds up to this horrifically chilling song.

One of the most underlooked Radiohead songs.

  • I doubt it's overlooked - like many Radiohead songs it sounds twice as good live compared to the bland album version.

  • impresionante, extraordinario, gran concierto.......i love RADIOHEAD

  • when i put this song on with my good headphones i seriously get lost in my own world

  • that's probably why they originally wanted to call it lost at sea

  • same

  • This song is extremely visual and kind of dark, am I the only one that eveytime listening to this song is like imagining a beach in Mexico but with nobody around you and the sky has a kind of a yellow-orange morbid colour, like if it was the end of the earth

  • holy shit im not lying when i say thats almost exactly what i see when i close my eyes listening to this an dclosing my eyes, its just one of those, "end of everything" songs that takes you away with it

  • Best Radiohead ever and in fact... one of the best song ever? ; ]

  • Man! What is going on in Greenwood's head when he plays those trippy fills?? They're like perfect!

  • Believe it or not Math, Music Theory, and Code. He said that in an interview a while back.

  • If I knew...

  • They are recording it right now!!!! They went back to the studio recently.

  • wait what???? are they already recording another album?!?!

  • ?????????????x infinity

  • I kinda wish the album version of this song ended similarly to this live version.

    No *real* complaints though. ;)

  • great drummer

  • I love this song. *-*

  • puro sesso

  • this is so so icredible

  • maybe its nigel? and its at 2:43 ha

  • i think it could be ed

  • who's playing tambourine at 2:42??

  • EXTRAORDINARIO, GRAN CONCIERTO...

  • but Ed is playing with 2 fingers... come on!!!

  • ya but the time signatures in this song are difficult. and who cares if its two fingers. everyone in radiohead besides phil (havent it seen it yet) can play more than 1 instrument and thats whats important.

  • Phil actually does play more then percussion. In a group called 7 worlds collide he plays guitar and sings. Ed also makes cameos with this group. Its not radiohead by any means, but not bad.

  • I've never seen Ed on keyboard until now...shocker!

  • I think the majority of Radiohead's music is perfect for alcoholics. I can tell you because I lived it. This is one of my favorites.

  • I heart this song

  • This whole song is awash in some haze.

What a fucking exotic piece of music.

  • Listening to this song high was one of the most magical moments of my life

  • Kid A > all

  • amen brother

  • KID A >>>>>>>>>>>> OK Computer.

  • effin A right.

  • Comment removed

  • my daily bread... power of music. the best sound in multiple shapes ive ever heard, radiohead's the best

  • This song produces such a complex emotion, I don't even know how to put it.

I know the ingrediants list includes eerieness, sexiness, and dreaminess, but i have no idea what to call it other than brilliant and otherwordly.

  • totally agree with you.. Radiohead is a complex emotion itself

  • Wow Phil kicks ass in this video. He is the perfect drummer for Radiohead and yet people constantly knock him . Why?!!

  • what are you talking about phil doesnt get knocked? he's awesome and so are; ed, colin, and my 2 favorite, jonny and thom ;) all are musical geniuses

  • Lol so basically all of them then :D Same here, I think there is not one member of Radiohead that isn't vital to the band and it's sound. Which is pretty unusual. Phil gets a fair amount of abuse on the interwebs, altho to be fair I think thats mainly from the kinds of people who think that music is a competition e.g. Who can play fastest, loudest, most complicated etc. I don't think those people really understand music at all.

  • agree with you, music should be about the tune you get out, depth layers and how it touches people.

  • fucking right man!!!!! phil is the perfect drummer period. he gets the point across without haveing to do all that flashy bullshit, im in a band and i fucking HATE my drummer(as a musician, not a person), he's a self-absorbed prick, phil is just as much a genius as any of em!!!!!

  • get your drummer into jazz, or just get a jazz trained drummer who likes your genre. jazz drummers can be great without smashing the shit out of the kit and when they get 'louder' it's always controlled. accents and dynamics are a key part of drumming not playing really fast. good luck with the band

  • Yeah, I agree 100%.

  • nothing wrong with being a flashy drummer, the way a musician plays is an expression of their inner self, which is the purpose of being in a band

  • agree'd 1Vfields. Everyones gotta do what they do. Thats where the magic comes from

  • So what did the French do to deserve this..lucky bastards!!

  • This music is beauty

  • GOD I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE THE KID A ALBUM. my favorite.

  • I never really appreciated (or "got", almost) this song until I saw this video. This concert seems to be one of the best recorded I've seen of theirs.

  • I'm living in a fantasy when I listen to this album.

  • Or just triplets?

  • Hemiola

  • Thanks. (:

  • Polyrythm?

  • This album is ridiculously good.

  • This band is ridiculously good.

  • best album by the best band.

  • WTF? what's you're problem. Its great music and it doesn't sound like that it sounds like a great band making great music. You must not have done any psychedelics yet...could explain why you're so fucked up.

  • you're retarded

    i personally love doing shrooms

but thats just as much of a waste of time and money as anything else

  • radiohead is amazing in that without being jazz rock, they actually capture that feeling. that feeling that there are multiple conversations happening at the same time and even though you like whats being said over here you keep showing interest in whats going on over there. its like the words dildo, christ, cookie monster, and terrorist all overlapping from different conversations and realising the painful truth that your brain is overwhelmed yet the uniqueness is beautiful and shocking. haha.

  • I forgot how good this song was. It's a shame they didn't play it when I saw them...but the rest of the concert was fucking amazing.

Radiohead + live concert = transcendent stuff

  • The first half of this song is so fucking sultry...

...it's like what Chris Isaac was TRYING to do in "Wicked Game" but didn't pull off as well...because In Limbo isn't sultry in the traditional sense...it's more like it invokes all these sorta sexy but sorta dark vibes...and your brain isn't sure if it is sexy or scary...my buddy Jim says it's "like a really sexy ghost" lol.

  • *sits and stares at the screen with an amazed smile on the face* and now i am in another dimension

  • And think of the poor suckers wasting their money on ecstacy and LSD we have it cheap safe and easy don't we?
