Just a little correction... When opening the bleed valve, your not relieving pressure, your allowing air INTO the canister to the release the vacuum that happens when the pump is turned off and the water trys to go back into the pool. Sort of like holding water in a straw with your finger, once you release your finger, it allows air into the straw and the water drains out.

Huntingtonparkway . . . I hope you have your motorpump turned off when you have your filter canister open,lol. But I think that may be because your pump and filter sets lower than the level of your pool. The law of gravity will make the water rush out your filter.

Ok I would not recommend cleaning your filter with just your thumb. Use a nozzle! Not the kind that has a trigger but the short kind that with a twist sut off valve, works best. There are also products that you just add to your pool water that makes the ilter easier to clean. As oppose to the degreasers.

You all never have water in the filter holder when you are putting it back in. And ours is always gushing with water. Should it be like that

u should make a video with a really nasty filter i wanna see u clean it with just water,should tell them to get some biodgradeable degreaser and spray the fitler down with it first then clean it with water
