Teacher "X" teaches 5 classes. He teaches 3 Algebra classes, 1 Advanced Algebra class, and 1 remedial class. His first four classes are okay, but his last class is utter chaos!
Why?
Is it because the class has 43 students instead of 35?
Or maybe because the majority of the students don't speak English?
Could it be that it's late in the day and the kids are tired?
Or maybe, just maybe, the kids are DOWN-RIGHT LAZY?
Stop blaming the hard-working, dedicated teachers!
I would like to inform you of a job opening at McGavock High School in Nashville Tennessee.
An Algebra teacher, Mr.Donald Wood recently was let go . . . Perhaps, this is your opportunity to prove that you are just not an arm-chair quarterback. I want to see you do it! 3 months! That is all!
Hey, if you think you're qualified to evaluate teachers, then, you should be able to teach, right?
black culture is the true problem. black kids should not have to have it imposed on them to work hard, not steal and not be a menace to society. this should be built into their culture and come from their parents. black culture glorifies a lack of education, violence, promiscuity, etc. and that's the REAL problem that no one is talking about
Unfortunately, school advocates in the city say that Rhee is the most secretive superintendent in memory, as well as the one who demonstrates the least understanding of budgeting
I bet all of those Urban Americans are mad, they had to bring in a Korean to fix the mess they have made. Maybe, just maybe the schools will see some improvement......NAH, not any real improvement.
Let me ask this; how can Michelle Rhee change anything without the cooperation of teachers and parents?
How can she gain their cooperation when she doesn't live within the same corridor?
She doesn't live in the same neighborhood as the students, doesn't shop in the same stores, and they never see her in their neighborhood unless she's working there.
She was a fuckup as a teacher, and her teacher recruiting program didn't "turn anything around."
"Rhee taught in Baltimore, Maryland as a recruit of Teach For America for three years. According to her resume, over a two-year period she moved students scoring on average at the 13th percentile on national standardized tests to 90 percent of students scoring at the 90th percentile or higher."
@JayCeeEss1337 I don't trust anything on her resume. I suspect a lot of the great things said about her are not true.
Much of her efforts in DC involved "getting rid of people" rather than changing things for the better.
She's horrible to the teachers as well. While some might welcome a "get tough on the teachers" attitude, keep in mind that if you get rid of a teacher, you have to replace him/her.

Michelle Rhee claims that she took 90% of her students from the 13th percentile to the 90th percentile or above in less than 2 years!
Isn’t that statistically impossible? “Normal Distribution”? “Bell Curve”?
Why hasn’t anyone interviewed her former students? Or their parents? Or her former principal? Or her former co-workers? Her fellow teachers?
I’m sure they all will have plenty to say about those scores!
Where's the proof of her academic success?

Would you BLAME the POLICE OFFICER working in a HIGH CRIME AREA?
Would you BLAME the DOCTOR working in a hospital with a lot of SICK people?
Would you BLAME the LAWYER working with a lot of CRIMINALS?
Would you BLAME the BORDER PATROL AGENTS for all the ILLEGAL ALIENS that are crossing the border?
Would you BLAME the SOCIAL WORKER with a lot of WELFARE CASES?
NO? Why not?
Because there are other FACTORS beyond their control! STOP BLAMING THE TEACHERS!
DO YOUR HOMEWORK!

We tried the "COLLABORATIVE" for years and it has failed time and time again. Let Michelle do her thing. We need change and we need it quickly.

All that she's accomplished???? And that would be what?

Answer to your questions: She can't.
Hopefully, she'll realize her job takes a COLLABORATIVE effort--before it's too late.
