God damn, that's impressive even with dlc armor. I've been going through an insanity playthrough with soldier without DLC myself and the difference is huge compared to say using the Mattock and DLC armor, Reps for posting a vid without the mattock.

@armyteam2000 Nah the claymore isn't that good because you have to get up pretty damn close. You're better off with the scimitar or geth shotgun

Accuracy sucks even with upgrade, still good rifle got it on my soldier too. But now when Mattock rifle is out Its better to get M-98 widow sniper rifle.

I prefered Revenant and Viper than Mattock/Vindicator and Widow. I love Widow, true tool of destruction, but I happen to do pretty downright misses, (which aren't that hurting with the former set) and I suck at handling either Vindicator, or Mattock, while avenger and Geth Pulse Rifle simply lack firepower, so I ended up with the machine gun, I could actually put to good use (though, not without trouble) . Revenant was the first wepon to make me stop relying on Geth Plasma Shotgun all the time.

@mujuma if you like range, dont get the revy, use the mattock from the firepower pack. its insanely accurate and does much more dmg. Rapes in adrenaline rush, not to mention u can use the widow instead of the revy as ur advanced weapon.

the revenant is the best gun in the whole game. IMO, it should replace the heavy weapon. :)

On a side note, the mattock kind of sucks. Obviously compared to the m-76, but per shot, the m15 gets it on,,,

The mattock is so overpowered that even as a soldier it is great to forgo the revenant and pick the widow instead. Adrenaline rush makes its usual slow, semi-auto fire rate extraordinarily fast. Not only that, it does more than 2x as much dmg per shot than the revey so even when out of adrenaline rush it is better. Not to mention its insane accuracy.....

then you have the widow instead of the viper lol, so OP

Yes, but you have a 16 round clip and 64 reserve for the Matty.

The mattock is fine, but for soldier, the GPR, M-15, or Revvy are more FUN. To me, anyway. To each their own.

@Freeride600 you have only 64 rounds, but enemies die much faster, and you have the widow, gps, and phalanx to rape people, as a soldier.

As a sentinel mattock is still king in my books.

I played as Soldier in ME1... by level 40ish I was near invincible and the constant holding of the right trigger got lame real fast, even on Insanity. Personally, the Soldier class doesn't take nearly as much skill as the others.

its not bugged. it also has its weaknesses like a small amount of ammo. its just that soldiers who usually use mattock when ammo is out change to another type weapon type
