My former guitarist, Dave Koval, played for Rick ... and used to go out onstage in a dress as a joke, so Rick certainly had a sense of humour. Whether the press understood specifics of his death is important, and the family may want to clear that up at their discretion in an official way, as opposed to here on You Tube where Lux, now deceased himself, had only the information most people have had. FAA and coroner's reports are certainly meaningful in this regard, too.
My dad Rick Nelson , his fiance and band died because the heater on Jerry Lee Lewis' piece of shit DC3 broke for the millionth time. And the plane didn't crash, it landed, noone could get out. (except pilot and copilot.) And my dad didn't write Lonesome Town, Mae Axton did. There were no "2 cans of hairspray" involved. Perhaps this is irrelevant to you, cramps fan, but it's not to me. My dad didn't deserve to be anyone's joke.
Well, I can see your point. Lux was a genuine admirer of Rick Nelson, though. Their fourth album was dedicated to him. But Lux's remarks on this occasion were in pretty poor taste, something to which he was sometimes prone in the heat of the moment, as it were.
Irving Plaza's security roughed me up too, lol. At a Mike Ness show. Course that happened to me alot in the day... 'cept at CBGB, Continental and Roseland, where everything went...
