  • By the way, I just found out that your mother is the mom from Happy Days! How cool! Tell her I said hi! You've got yourself a new subscriber, sir!

  • @IsAndJes Welcome! And thanks for the nice words about mom... she is doing very well, still performing and charming the pants off the world. Nuts about my mum.

  • That was great! Also, you look like a really friendly and cool guy.

  • @IsAndJes Thanks for the generous appraisal, (takes one to know one!) and I am glad you liked the video! Many more to come...

  • hahahaha YOU ARE SO HIIIRIOUS!

  • @professional318 Thanks very much! Happy you think so!

  • Looks like you're deservedly gaining real traction now Jim. Letterman can't be too far away now.

Keep up the great work and it will happen!

  • Haha pretty good

  • Burgess Meredith?!? You, sir, are a great gift!!!

  • I would pay big bucks to see this on Letterman. And by big bucks, I mean my monthly cable bill.

  • @nsiems09 Ha, ha! Thanks! I'm working on 'em...

  • not that good

  • Jim you are hilarious! I do impressions myself, but just for my friends... just out of curiosity, how much time do you spend to become these characters? And if you will let the secret go, what do you do to become them?

  • @dodgerbrian1 Thanks! I have written about it extensively on my wordpress blog, they won't let me type the address, but go to Wordpress and enter my name and you'll see my postings about doing impressions. Thanks! And please subscribe and see my other impressions videos!

  • close your eyes and listen to this video!

  • Honestly, your flipper - just not believable at all.

    Seriously, love it!

  • Honestly, your flipper - just not believible at all.

    Seriously, love it!

  • Great impressions, hope to see you on Letterman!

But let's be honest, the real Flipper would never say such awful things about Leno.

  • @Ligermorph That is true, thank you for pointing that out... so few people can translate dolphin accurately! I thought he was talking about haddock...

  • did you get on the letterman show?? I hope so becuase you're impressions are amazing. I do this thing where I close my eyes and try to guess and I can always tell who is talking (if I've heard them before)

  • @ilovemyschnauzer1 Not yet, but I'm working on it... would really, REALLY like to. Thanks for the kind words.

  • Work on your John C, Reilly some more. You're almost there.

  • Well, done!

  • It was all awesome! Especially Steve Martin- actually made me laugh out loud.

  • i'm thinking you should try and do some russel brand impressions

  • I love reason #3!

  • Are you Finnish? Cause your last name sounds like it :)

  • @Peggywie I've heard that said many times, but it is a kind of mutation of McSimmons, from Scotland/Ireland.

  • That was absolutely incredible, I am so "impressed". That's not sarcasm, just a bad joke....but anyway, that was really a fantastic job, great work!!

  • You, sir? You are awesome. I've seen a lot of people out there who toss up videos, and who aren't half-bad, who claim to be a man or woman of a hundred plus voices. But your impressions are by far better, more accurate, and you even seem to take on a little bit of the person you're being. Subscribing, and wishing I could see a show someday!

  • @CataclysmicStar Hope so too! I'm starting my next run in Hollywood at The Acting Center for six weeks on February 17th, and my DVD is available at my appliedsilliness website.

  • You are so talented - dead-on impersonations and so funny! It totally cracked me up when you did Flipper. Hope you get invited to appear on Letterman!

  • omg your Owen Wilson.. is so brilliant. I was reading the comments when you started and I was thinking to myself, "How did he get Owen Wilson on his video!?"

  • Flipper's what got me.

  • I knew there was a reason I loved YouTube. Mr. Meskimen, you are AWESOME. Keep doing what you're doing!

  • That was bad ass Mr. Meskimen!

  • That was so much fun! You are fucking funny! I have shown you too all my friends. You are by far the best impressionist I have ever seen. And you do look a bit like Steve Martin.

  • @SlangersDK Yes, a bit more every day, apparently! Thanks very much and welcome! Thanks for telling your friends! I hope to make many more videos to have you and your friends laughing.

  • A few suggestions: Tom Cruise Tom Hanks Humphrey Bogart Marlon Brando Alfred Hitchcock Neil Patrick Harris Ewan McGregor Daniel Radcliffe Richard Harris James Dean Robert Downey Jr Nicolas Cage Rex Harrison Daniel Day Lewis Johnny Depp Katharine Hepburn Tommy Wiseau
  • Wow. Steve Martin! Excellent. Love your Tommy Lee Jones, too. Dave, you gotta book this guy.

  • just saw this finally...SUPERB! I have not seen anyone do a Steve Martin impression until now

  • Jim! You are amazing, I can't stop watching your videos! You are so cool. I especially like your Jack Nicholson, Tommy Lee Jones, and David Letterman. I am very "Jimpressed".

  • Does anyone think he looks like Steve Martin in the end of his impression of Steve Martin?

  • @RogueKovu Well, I do, if that counts for anything.

  • Tommy Lee Jones line was hysterical!

  • OMG Burgess Meredith. AMAZING

  • All of these were brilliant... except for Owen Wilson... that one never seems to quite hit the nail on the head in your videos like your other impressions. LOVE the Steve Martin.

  • Absolutely nailed Tommy Lee Jones, Peter O'Toole and Robin WIlliams!

  • You should prank call people with your celeb voices so the person on the other line thinks you are the actual person! I don't know...reckon that would be funny ahaha.

  • You got me with Flipper! HAHAHAHAH!

  • Hey, he sure has fun while doing it.

  • Excuse me, Mr. Meskimen? YOU. ROCK.

    That is all. :)

  • @dancingelf1988 Thank you ever so much!

  • Flipper!!! HAHA! XD

  • CELEBRITY BLACKOUT !!!

DAMMIT BLACKOUT ALL CELEBS WHO DONT GOT BALLS TO USE THEIR CELEBRITY STATUS TO SUPPORT RON PAUL OR LET THEM SAY WHY THEY DONT SUPPORT HIM AT THE LEAST SO WE KNOW ;)

DONT WATCH THEIR STUFF EVEN IF ITS FOR FREE

THEY MADE ENUFF BUCKS OFF US THOSE STINKIN CELEBS AND NOW THEYRE SILENT?

END THE FED OR FEED THE END :(

♥ RON PAUL ♥ WINS HEARTS NOT JUST VOTES

  • @ashwadhwani Uhm, that's not a reasonable strategy, I'm afraid. I support Ron Paul, but I don't feel it is practical to shut out other's viewpoints... let the conversation go on. It's an educational phase; we need to all be listening and talking and NOT being particularly punitive. That's how I feel.

Candidate Paul is so strikingly honest... I almost feel he doesn't deserve the HEARTBREAK of this campaign... even if he wins, which I hope to God he does. There, I said it.

  • His Tommy Lee is awesome!!

  • Jim....your Tommy Lee Jones is dead on! Your natural voice and timber lend to Jones' voice perfectly. You should make Tommy your 'franchise' voice....like Frank Caliendo does with his 'John Madden.'. Good luck!

  • I liked the Robin Williams and Burgess Meredith impressions.

  • This video could of went without the flipper impression..

  • Seen you on the Today Show Australia :)

  • Omg the Tommy Lee Jones and the Robin Williams was CRAZY.

  • pretty damn good< tommy lee jones and steve martin were uncanny

  • That Tommy Lee Jones was uncanny!!!!! WTG! Truly inspirational to a wannabe impressionist

  • Don't even need the visuals for most of these, although the facial expressions are half of the impression!

  • Just...FANTASTIC! I have seen a lot of youtube impressionists, you are the only one who solidly preforms. The subtle ones like Tommy Lee Jones had me in hysterics, great great job. I really hope someone invites you on their show!

  • W I N

  • You are very good. Well done!

  • Flipper really sold it for me Jim :D

  • You can't get better than this... well done Jim

  • holy shit, how is this even possible :O

  • your tommy lee jones was great! I think you would do an AWESOME Malcom McDowell impression, I hear a little of him in all of your impressions :)

  • i wanna hear more from than just american accents...

  • Your Tommy Lee Jones is amazing

  • AMAZEBALLS!!! Nice touch with the Steve Martin smile too.

  • You did Peter Lorre?! I've never heard anyone even trying this :)

    Nice!!

  • lol! you're awesome! :)

  • In your face justena bieber

  • this guy is BETTER than Rich Little and Danny Ganz. Combined!

  • @Spameggssausage Mom? Is that you?

  • @Spameggssausage Danny Ganz was a amazing singing impressionist but his vocal impressions were not great. Apart from that we are in agreement!

  • After hearing John C. Reilly, I'm convinced you could pull off Christopher Walken as well

  • I'd like to hear your G.K. Chesterton impression... From what I hear. You CAN'T do it right :D

  • @dibpwnt These vicious rumors HAVE GOT to STOP.

  • The Steve Martin smile. Ha!

  • holy shit man, that was scary good, i mean owen and alec gave me chills but everyone else were just as spot on. You da man!

  • Best peter Lorre I've heard in a while. Everyone exaggerates the hell out of it, thanks for not doing that :P. You should totally read the biography about him, that little dude had an amazing life.

  • @sparkkle2 I know! I love Peter Lorre, his Mr. Moto films are a waste of his talent, but are so fun to watch anyway... and that's only one small segment of his work. Thanks for writing!

  • @jimmeskimen My favorite movie of his is M, but I loved him in Maltese Falcon, The Man Who Knew Too Much, and Arsenic And Old Lace.

Also, if it's any consolation over the getting on Letterman, I found you via Craig Ferguson's Twitter.

  • @sparkkle2 Oh, yes! All brilliant. I had the idea that Johnny Depp could do a bio pic... wouldn't he JUMP at that?

  • The great thing about the Steve Martin impression is that he sounds and looks a little bit like Steve Martin anyway

  • @jonmwb He does, by golly, doesn't he? I mean, ME.

The older I get, the more people remark that I resemble him... I used to hear, "You know who you look like? Sting." Sigh.

  • outstanding! its perfect!

  • I first saw you way back when on the UK's Whose Line Is It Anyway - and then again on JibJab -I have to say that you're about the best impressionist I've ever heard!

    Needs to be on Letterman!

  • @akumatatsu61 thanks for remembering me from the British Whose Line! I appreciate it!

Really want to be on the Letterman show, I think I can really hit it over the fence there1

  • omg! the flipper part had me rolling!

  • seriously this guy gave me chills hes really good

  • that was awesome. i dig the robbin williams

  • Jim: I'm really not "impressed."

  • I hope you DO get invited! And if you don't, you SHOULD prank call all Dave's neighbours and invite them to his overnight barbecue! Make him sorry for what he missed!

  • Very, very, very good. Oh heck, excellent. Thumbs up!!

  • I am thinking Americas Got Talent...maybe you can go AND TOTALLY ROCK IT OUT OF THE PARK! =D Yes please!

  • That Peter Lorre is EPIC. :D The "ooh" and eye widening pushes it over the top of awesome.

  • Best Peter Lorre I've ever heard!

  • Absolutely, simply amazing. I have been enjoying impressionists all my life and I have NEVER seen a talent like yours. This and your Shakespeare video are nothing short of brilliant. Seriously. Can't wait for the next one. (BTW, your Morgan Freeman isn't just incredible, it's scary.) You don't impersonate the people as much as you BECOME them.

  • When you become incredibly famous, will you just become 'Jim' (like 'Cher' or 'Sting')? And, more importantly, will you still take my calls? /RayK

  • Oh you ABSOLUTELY deserve to be invited onto Letterman! You're brilliant. Such great comic timing, details, and writing. :) Made my day.

  • @sopharoo8 Thanks! I'm glad I made your day! More to come soon!

  • TRUE GIFTED ARTIST - I HAVE YOU IN MY FILES MATE!

  • HAHAHA tommy lee jones was amazing.

  • i vote yessss!

  • I really enjoy catching the little non-verbal impressions, as well, like Steve Martin's post-joke ironic smile. Also, you're directly responsible for my husband and I wandering about the house impersonating Droopy Dog, Arnold Schwartzenegger and Flipper. Our cats are not particularly amused by the whole Flipper thing.

  • @beadtific Thanks for noticing the details! I hope your animals can learn to be non-critical.

  • Fantastic, Jim! One of the best I've seen.

  • Hahahaha, you're good, man. Great job!

  • @sobreiro thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!

  • spot on!

  • Amazingly spot on! If I had a show, you'd be on it daily lol.

  • Brilliant!

  • The Robin Williams was so spot on I was freaked out. You're brilliant!

  • I hope you get on, sir.

Just out of curiosity, I like dabbling with impressions myself (I got Christopher Walken, Sean Connery, and Marlon Brando under my belt so far), so I was wondering: how do you become so good at it?

  • @thepercussionistME I've been writing about just that very thing on my wordpress blog, under Meskimen

  • Steve Martin was great. As were the others. I hope you get invited!

  • Three people don't have a heart!

  • @brownfedora Let's share a moment of silence for them...

  • Lost it on the Tommy Lee Jones one, pure genious

  • I have never heard a Steve Martin impersonation. Much less one that was "spot on." Tommy Lee Jones & John Reilly, also fantastic! I love that you do many "rare" impersonations!

Also, I love your reacurring character in Parks and Rec, I hope they get you back in there this season.

  • @toddsholty I would love to... they are a great team of talented people and deserve all their success.

  • Amazing. Simply amazing. I would love to know how you go about learning someone!

  • Tommy Lee Jones was spot in. Who the hell does Burgess Meredith? Classic. But Burgess should be done in a Penguin like manner as thats how most people know him.

Robin Williams was perfect and not the "over the top" version most impressionists do. Great!

  • @RocktheStageNYC Thanks! Hard to know which Burgess Meredith registers the most, since he had probably a sixty year film career, and all those Rocky films, too. When I was just getting started in VO in New York, his voice was the go-to voice for narrations, just as Morgan Freeman's is today.

  • @jimmeskimen - Yeah I would pick Burgess as Penguin or Mickey from Rocky. Probably his two most identifiable roles.

  • Jim is the finest impressionist in the business!

  • The Flipper one killed me!

  • Hahah the steve martin impression may be my favorite because you actually look like him too!! O_o

  • I love watching you, you're amazing!

  • LOL! You DEFINITELY should be on the Letterman Show!

  • I'll ditto that. Brilliant! Jim does voices I've never seen anyone else do. Great job.

  • Look Jim, Flipper's agent called and is suing for libel. He did NOT say "Squeak-click-click" - you've taken him totally out of context.

  • wow, that is a GOOD Tommy Lee Jones Impression

  • Jim i want to see that. You on Letterman!!! LOL

  • Jim...you are amazing....be sure to come to Minneapolis

  • Absolutely brilliant! Owen Wilson, Tommy Lee Jones and Robin Williams and Burgess Meredith killed me. And Flipper on this one and Droopy Dog on the other one were hilarious.

  • @alohajerseygirl Hey, thanks very much! So glad you enjoyed them!

  • Sir, you are brilliant!!..the fact that you are able to not only speak like the people you impersonate, but almost look like all the poeple you impersonate makes you just spectacular!

  • You are just brilliant!!

  • @robtjonz Thanks!

  • lol!

  • #1 reason I keep coming back to watch this: not only are your impressions spot on, but your monologue snippets are hilarious. Well done!

  • @monalisadreams thanks very much! Delighted you like it!

  • You're hilarious. I'm sure you'll get on the show!!

  • This is just great. You do voices that nobody else does. You certainly eclipsed Frank Caliendo.

  • @zenpiper Wow, nice words, nice words... appreciated!

  • I would actually tune in to Letterman to see this

  • YEAH! Good idea.

  • Very impressive! Hope your wish comes true.

    Greetings from Sweden.

  • @Clintyngvie Thanks very much! Do you watch Dave in Sweden?

  • @jimmeskimen Sure, he's been on TV here (on and off) since the mid 90's, although I'm pretty sure we're always a couple of days after the original airing.

...and then there YouTube of course.

  • I think yes. Good luck!

  • Nice! I like number one!

  • Definitely YES!

  • i think yes!

    and flipper was hilarious!

  • Marvelous! Simply marvelous.

  • Seems like a good idea to me, too.

  • Yes!

  • Awesome!

  • I agree with Flipper :)

  • and YES you should go on the show! Its would be amazing!

  • you are awesome! im a fan!

  • No Schwarzenegger? If you can't go to Dave, ask Craig to be a guest on the Late Late Show ;)

  • Robin Williams and Steve Martin were amazing!!

  • AMAZING!!!!! They need to feature you on Letterman! I hope you make it. :)

  • That's Awesome!

  • WOW

  • Not bad...
