i downclocked my desire hd to 245mhz and it seemed smoother than this. But i found out that, most of the lag is due to the type of touch screen it is. So if you have your finger on the screen, APPARENTLY thats what causes allot of the lag. But when you benchmark, it was faster than my dhd at 245. If you get my point?

@rowanlewisuk hmm, I think it has more to do with the shitty launcher that I was running on that phone, and plus your phone is a lot better than a htc wildfire. not too sure on the whole touch screen thing, but I guess it could be plausible if the screen is using a lot of cpu usage because your finger is on it, therefore having to think about what it should be doing according to the location of your finger:P

@stiggelthesk8er It was purely for testing purposes, i dont have my dhd at 245 all the time. Also, the wildfire was overclocked and both were running cm7. I think (not a clear explanation) the lag is due to a low refresh rate on the touch sreen. For example, with the wildfire, if you flick the menus down, the lag stops after you relese your finger, whereas if you slowly drag the menu ,with your finger on the screen ,down it lags quite allot.

@MaybeRoy HTC sense is a theme(sort of) that is unique to the ROM HTC load onto the device. camera works fine, over clocking is just an option to get more juice out of your device, but it will work perfectly without over clocking! (:

I just rooted my phone and installed Android 2.3.7 from Cyanogen, however, now my Android market app won't work. Any idea what I need to do? It keeps telling me I need to add an account to the device and it asks me if I would like to do it now. If I click YES it simply goes back to my home screen and nothing happens.

@WayfareFilms overclocking is easy, once you root your phone and boot it into what ever os you want to use, weather it be original rom, or cyanogen rom, or any other rom, you install an app called set cpu, either from the market (bought) or download the .apk

@Cruz182 everything, but you may need to put in your wap settings, i had to do this, but it's dead easy, or wait, no i didn't cyanogen mod does it for you, so it's basically like "plug and play" everything works when you load all of the stuff correctly

I would imagine the Wildfire S would be able to overclock to nearly 1Ghz since it's got about 100 more mhz on it's processor.

It's still a slow piece of shit the WildS cannot play Flash properly i tried a demo unit.

@OxDUBiSMv2 makesure before installing the rom you do a full wipe of all data in bootloader, that way it will delete any conflicting files left over from the old os

@fachaman oops i voted down... oops, umm yeah i don't know then... i was using cm7 beta, like really unstable, but you can look around for other roms like wild puzzle and stuff, they are pretty good too

make sure you use launcher pro (free from market) makes home screen more smooth

@locutus12 i would have could have should have, unfortunately i sold my device and moved to a more powerful android phone, i could, however make a tutorial with a friends phone if he gives the ok on me me flashing it, TO everyone else, just do abit of reading and you will get it, for someone who has no experience it should take no more than 3 hours of thorough research and the modding its self !

@SHADOWxxxWARRIOR it probably isnt the best thing to do, if you are going to play games, or use the phone at its full capacity then it will get hot, wich isnt the best thing, but if you have it locked at full and your minnimum at least, it should be fine, just for screwing around on, it also shortens the battery life but about half a day for me, but over clocking is worth it (: for me anyway
