@fitcoach2007 haha - if you eliminate it you'll lose weight faster. Increase it and you lose weight slower or begin gaining body fat because there is nothing conjusive about consuming chicken and losing weight.
Do you boil the water or simmer or is it ice cold or change temps the whole time etc? Is their an exact temp or does it matter all that much. I could go on and on. It just says "Cook chicken for 1 hour".
You may as well have put "Make chicken soup...The end"
Yum that really looks great and i just started my healthy way of eating today so thanks for this encourging tasty recipe. im going to try it and let you know how it turned out. Thanks
Hi I noticed that you also added some spices to the soup at some point but it doesn't say what, nor you mention it? what is it? and is it possible to add the more tender vegetables such as the tomatoes at the end so they don't practically reduce to nothing or become sluggish or flavorless??
Looks awesome! =). Just a pointer for improvement - it'd be nice to have you talk through what you're doing when you're actually cooking. =). But good nonetheless.
@AngieChi03 Thanks for the compliment. I try focusing on the food and not me. If I talked the videos would be too long. That is why I do them this way.
I cook the veggies in the broth until they soften and then add the chicken. To me, the chicken gets dry, even with boiling, when I soft cook the veggies with the chicken in the broth. I also use extra wide egg noddles (can go with yokeless ones) instead of potatoes. Good recipe and my kids like yours too.
Definitely making this today!!! been dying for a good chicken soup recipe and this looks like the best one on youtube, will post my thoughts after, thx for this :)
@fitcoach2007 Was delicious :D Took me some time to skim the chicken fat/oil off the top after boiling but thats the only real hassle I had. There is so much soup, enough for me and my gf for 2-3 days and she really loves it. I added 2 bayleafs, italian seasoning for flavor and a 15oz can of corn to go with it.. good stuff very delicious and healthy, will make again 5/5!

How did you remove the skin from the ray chicken? I had a lot of trouble the last time, it was really tough to peel off. Any tips? Thanks for this awesome recipe, this will be my third time making it.
Not sure about that oxo veg stuff, it is pure chemistry. Al least Juan's version had proper celery. But why so many - six? I cook it in the following proportion - 4 carrots, one parsley root and a half celery root. Juan, how do you make that hot sauce?
Hey thanks for uploading the video. I learnt how to cook a very delicious meal. Anyway if we are only cooking for two people ,would it like take lesser time for us to cook it?
thats what you call a "Mirepoix" in the culinary world, aka carrots, celery, onion. A Mirepoix is standard in most soup and even stock bases. Not to be confused with a "Trinity" which is bell peper celery onion, more of a southern soup base which yep you guess it you dont use carrots. See we learned something today :)
Why would you eat meat if you're wanting to lose weight...haha
jjay75 4 days ago
@jjay75 There is nothing wrong with eating chicken. Losing weight is about moderation NOT restriction.

A great addition to chicken soup is bulgar wheat, or barley. Kinda like chicken rice soup, but with less carbs and more fiber. Mmmmmm.

servings are 6-8. Sorry I do not know the calories for the meal. I don"t count calories, I teach folks to use portion control.

not to be rude but if you teach portion control then you should know the caloric amounts in your recipes. That is portion control.
