Great video! I have to replace the optical drive in my early 2008 alu imac which has the same drive as yours.

Where did you get your replacement from, i am having a hrd time finding one in the uk although i can get my sister to ship me one from the US.

Thank you. One more question, will only that specific drive work in my iMac if you know? Or can I use any others inside of it, that being the only thing I'm not completely clear on.

All drives with the same given specs will work.

I think you get it in the same store you purchased the HDD and please do not forget to have the jumpers set the correct way for master/slave. yes, I probably should include commercials in the video. Recommendations?

Where could I purchase another optical disk drive for my iMac 2008? I recently removed my hd and put in a 1.5 tb hd but my disk drive needs to be replaced also before I can install an os.
