Only a few steelers fans have the right to brag about superbowl wins. In my opinion, you have to be from pittsburgh or you have to live in pittsburgh. And most of all, you should know all of the teams youve beaten in the superbowls that youve won. If you dont know who u beat and which year you beat em you have absolutely no right to brag about it! Baltimore is nearly two times the size of pittsburgh but ya dont see ravens fans all over the world do ya? Your just a bunch of no good fair-weather
@Dancam12345 Your whole comment is so amazingly retarded that I honestly feel more stupid simply from reading it. Please don't reply, as I don't feel like getting any more stupid.
i've been a Steelers fan my whole life and i'm from New York. i was made fun of my whole life for being a Steelers fan by Jets and Giants fans. i made a promise that i would never go to a football game until i first saw the Steelers play in Pittsburgh. it took me over two decades, but i finally made it. i got to watch the Steelers beat the Jets in the AFC Championship. don't tell me i can't be a Steelers fan because of where i'm from. Steeler Nation knows no boundaries.
Reed is better than polamalu. Statistics prove that. Last year, Ed Reed joined in week 8 due to injury, but he still managed to lead the league that season in interceptions.
Had Troy been healthy during SB45 (yeah, I know he played in the game, but he wasn't healthy during the playoffs...plus there was no Aaron Smith either...), who only knows....
@PissyThePissedOff Yeah both teams had injuries. Steelers played like absolute garbage all year and made it to the superbowl which was amazing to me. Green bay was the first team able to play clean enough to beat them the steelers in the post season.
@ggoldman43 Hey.. I have been a steeler fan my whole life and that by far was the ugliest season of Steeler football i have ever seen. That team was a couple of bad breaks away from being 9-7. Either of these teams would have gotten their tail kicked to by the 2007 Steelers or Arizona Cardinals in from superbowl 43.
@ambigroove they were also a few bad breaks from going 15-1, vs. the Ravens (the first time) vs the Saints ( Heath Miller fumble) and vs the Jets (Spaeth dropping the game winning TD). That 07 team played like garbage after Aaron Smith got hurt, and got run all over by the Jags.
@ambigroove the cardinals only got to the super bowl that year because they won their weak division and beat a carolina team with a terrible qb and the eagles werent that good that year either
KILOX MUST BE A FAG TO BE TALKING THAT GAY SHIT.WHO SAID ANYTHING ABOUT DICKS? FUCKING FAGGOT. WHAT YOU DOING WATCHING POLAMALU HIGHLIGHTS ? EITHER BECAUSE YOUR IMPRESSED HES THE BEST SAFETY OR YOU HAVE A MANCRUSH ON HIM WHICH YOU PROBABLY DO.
THE BEST SAFETY. PERIOD. ED REED IS GREAT AS WELL, BUT I DONT THINK YOU CAN COMPARE THE TWO. TROY IS A CLUTCH PLAYER, MAKES PLAYS YOU DONT EXPECT AND CHANGES THE GAME. HES A RAVEN KILLER AND ON HIS WAY TO HIS 3RD SUPERBOWL. WHEN ED REED GETS HIS FIRST RING, GET BACK AT ME.
jebus, baltimore. practically their entire o-line was running at polamalu and NO ONE GOT HIM? pittsburgh only had about 2 guys there with him. i think baltimore just gave up.
great rush by timmons, number 94. he starts as a middle linebacker here, times the count perfectly, and fights off a block to hit flacco as he releases the ball, helping to create the turnover. great play.
i cant stand ppl who say reed will make the HOF and troy wont. They both have a great instinct for the game. Reed with the pass. troy with the run. so ANY1 saying troy or reed wont make the HOF is just plain stupid.
stop comparing Ed reed and polamalu their both amazing player who make their teams so much better.Look at the steeler D last yr without him they werent as strong. Same goes for Ravens earlier this year. Both playmakers who make things happen. But Im glad with got Polamalu lets go steeler nation baby- Black n Yellow
Troy has phenomenal instincts on the field. Loved this play. Absolutely amazing shit right here. Now with Ben back and the Steelers at 3-1 we'll be in the mood for Super Bowl Ring #7.
lol @ the loser at 42 seconds who stands up to give someone a high 5 and then sits back down....man i dunno how anyone coulda not gone completely insane then....what a silly shy guy! lol
i loved this moment, best of my steeler fanhood i can ever remember
@iConnor86 You're fuckin dumb. My whole point has been completely taken out of context. The only thing i said about the fucking play is that it wasn't that long. Flacco made a mistake, it was a different look for him and he wasn't quite sure what to do. He was too anxious and Troy capitalized. Fact. You ask Flacco and he would tell you it was a bad decision.
2009 first game against the Titans Polamalu picks of a crazy intercept and makes alot of plays before getting injured, first 2 games of 2010 Troy intercepts on both games and makes play. Now compare that to Ed Reed? Everyone here knows when Troy Polamalu plays, the Pittsburgh defense is alive...1 man can change the whole game!!!
Troy Polamalu is a complete safty. He can play the run and pass very well. Ed Reed sucks in run support, he can only play the pass well. But what happens when th QB does not throw it in ed reed's direction. Ed reed is no more!
I was at Grille 36 in Pittsburgh when this happened...I, along with every other Steeler fan, lost my friggin mind when Troy made this play....GO STEEEEEEELERS!
i'm a steeler fan, and i hate the ravens, but they get my respect. great team, great rivalry, and if the steelers don't make it, the ravens will get my support.
the guy who caused this INT was timmons, the guy who hit flacco just as he released the ball. timmons had a bad 2009, but because he played inside linebacker. the guy needs to play the outside. yeah, there's harrison and woodley, but timmons is explosive from the outside. he's not an inside LB.

Correct! Pittsburgh is still in Pittsburgh & Baltimore is still in Baltimore. Regardless, the Steelers won the Super Bowl that year. Baltimore did win it in 2000. The Steelers have won in 2005 & 2008. Most teams would die for one title. Ask Bills fans!
@Kalimatai17 Because he capitalized on a rookie QB mistake and took it back for a pretty short TD? Ed Reed makes his living off of taking picks back for TDs, alot longer than 40 yards. I think Polamalu is better, but this is not why.
@Mortizism - "took it back for a pretty short TD?" Really?! Troy caught it at the 40....and then had to go laterally to find room. Can we PLEASE stop watering the Steelers' accomplishments down and simply accept that they were the better team?
@pacmantab I didn't take anything away from the steelers, they were absolutely the better team, I even said Polamalu is better than Reed but this play proves nothing. Flacco shouldn't have thrown the ball. Anyone could have made that pick. And ok it wasn't a short TD but it wasn't that long, 40 yards is 40 yards no matter how much sideways running you do.
@Mudkipzlolwut youre a retard. Polamaul has more rings. He also has made more gamebreaking plays. So suck on it. Ravens will always be the Steelers little brother. 6 Rings. How many u got.
@Mudkipzlolwut Reed has played 2 years more, and Polamalu put up his stats during his 5th season. And Polamalu doesn't get JACKED UP by wide receivers (Hines Ward).
@Mudkipzlolwut Ok, let's try this then. Polamalu has been on 2 superbowl winning teams, i dont think Reed has ever made it past the AFC Championship. Steelers have dominated the Ravens over the past 5 years, so obviously Ed Reed isn't that big of impact, where as Polamalu had the game winning interception in the AFC Championship. Polamalu should be in the top 10 to ever play. Just look at his interceptions
@2121westmax that's a team effort you moron. Steelers have dominated the Ravens yeah, but comparing rings when I'm comparing players is entirely irrelevant. Ed Reed is one of the best in his positions, Troy as a SS is just really good.
@Mudkipzlolwut Reed has played 2 years more, and Polamalu put up his stats during by his 5th season. And Polamalu doesn't get JACKED UP by wide receivers (Hines Ward).
@arkansoul and Ed Reed has made more plays. there's a reason he's on the top 100 players in the nfl and will probably go into the hall of fame. can't say the same for Polamalu.
@Mudkipzlolwut Both players play well in their systems. Neither is better than the other. Pittsburgh as a team has won more big games than Baltimore. thus, Polamalu having more rings.
@arkansoul agreed entirely. they both play different roles, but in their respective positions, Ed Reed definitely is better. that said, Pittsburgh has always had a better team (except our SB win) so. our lack of offense until Joe showed up hurt.
@Mudkipzlolwut The one difference is that Ed Reed is not asked to stop the run more than Troy is asked. If I'm not mistaken, Ed Reed wasn't on that Super Bowl squad. Reed definitely has more pick-6's and overall "big" plays. Troy is asked to do more on a team with more of a defensive history. I wouldn't argue with anyone that says Reed is better. I'm not saying that he is, however.
@2121westmax 0-6? what? I think you mean 0-5. Flacco hasn't played Ben 6 times.
even so, what does that matter? we've been to the playoffs twice and have clinched yet another berth so I'm not sure the point of that. he's only the 4th QB in history to go to the playoff 3 times in his first 3 seasons.
@Mudkipzlolwut Yes, Flacco is 0-6 against Ben including the 2008 AFC Championship game. And don't go boasting about that playoff 3 times crap because Ben lead us to 2 superbowls and 4 playoff appearances in his first 5 years.
@2121westmax explain how Flacco is 0-6? swept the Ravens 3 times in 2008, beat us once last year and beat us once this year. that's 5, not 6. where's the 6 coming from?
and yeah, you are right, but again this is a team game, not individual. Ben is better than Flacco no doubt, but you're fucking delusional and retarded if you think Flacco isn't a good QB. just because Ben is better doesn't make Joe less of one. you need to learn proper debate. your argument is a house of cards
@2121westmax under what statistics? Ed Reed missed the first half of the season and has a FF and 6 picks. Troy has 1 sack same picks, same FF and about 20 or so more tackles. I don't think so.
he's not a center fielder, phil fuck simms, he's a strong safety. you assume he's a free safety because he gets a lot of interceptions, but you're thinking of ed reed. troy just does INTs in his spare time.
@joementum5 honestly, hes just a safety...clark is really more of our SS now....polamalu is kinda everything and anything he wants to be...hes so amazing
This play and call by Jim Nantz was featured in the Madden 10 opener.
Also do you think Nantz was saving that line "Super Bowl 43, Pittsburgh might be bound thanks to 43" for when Palamalu made a big play? Clearly it was not a matter of IF but WHEN.
Let's clear this all up right now... yes indeed,it was James who hit Flacco on this play. It's James patented swim move that shed gay-ther, and look at the size of his body as he was flying through the air just before he hit Flacco.Timmons is not that big, also look at the frame of the video at 1:40 you will see the NFL Defense Player of the Year #92 standing there on that play after he was trying to make a block for Troy on our way to the Superbowl.
I'm a Raven's fan though. FLacco just made the wrong choice by trying to go for the win instead of trying to get the first down. he had a guy open to make the play. Again he was a rookie. I though just going to the playoffs was great.
khaililasbro dude its not like u think tats wat u see a player open now but when ur the actulal qb its kinda hard and as soon as he saw one guy open he throws
ye its not as easy being a qb as people think they are looking at a straight view over linemen some are tall so its sometimes hard for them to throw and makes a mistake
At closer look ...it looks like Timmons #94 had the nice hit on Flacco, not James after all that's awesome, another great Steelers line backer in the making."Damn he's quick."
JOe...I mean bLoW, hang your head at 2:37 it's over, You blew it... You will never be as good as Ben Roethlisberger. you will ride his nuts- sack your whole Life.
Troy is the best defense back in the NFL...no one even comes close.I also like how James Harrison beat # 71 I Believe gay-fer is his name on his way too pressure joe jackoff...I mean joe wackoff to make that Pittsburgh pick off to the Superbowl. Thanks Troy You The Man.
lets b honest about our pirates man lol we root for them cause they're the home team but fuck the front office we'll never c 500 they keep doin wat they bin doin
that guy has incredible instincts he started running a whole 3 seconds before the throw even left his hand. This guy has more athlethism in his little picky then I do in my whole body :(
i love this what a amazing play. that guy who almost gets a sack is timmons i think. i watched it a few times and the last number looks like a 4. 94=timmons. he is gona be really goood soon
ed reed aint shit hes just good at make INT and taking them to the house his tackling is shiity polamalu is good at INT and A HARDHITTER and a SMART PLAYER BEST SAFTEY OF ALL TIME AND HES ONLY 27!
James Harrison with the sweet inside move off the edge. Would've had a Flacco sandwich if he got there one second sooner. The unsung hero of a great play.
the best part about this is that before the game the pregame show guys built up ed reed saying stuff like: "The difference between ed reed and troy polamalu is that when reed intercepts it he can almost always score a TD. Polamalu rarely does." what did reed do in this game? nothing. and polamalu takes it to the house. GO STEELERS
Wow, what a farsighted brain lapse. How about Holmes' tiptoe catch or 'Silverback' making the greatest defensive play in the history of the Super Bowl.
Considering they won the SB, that may go down as one of the greatest plays in team history, certainly recent history. I was born in 1980 and convinced myself in 94' that I cursed the team. Maybe FWP taking it to the house at the beginning of the second half in XXL, or Randle El throwing the best pass of the game and Hiney skipping into the endzone. This play is certainly up there, regardless of generation.
Flacco shouldn't have thrown the ball. Anyone could have made that pick. And ok it wasn't a short TD but it wasn't that long, 40 yards is 40 yards no matter how much sideways running you do.

@Kalimatai17 lol yeah right. ed reed has double troy's INTs and has roughly the same sacks.
Mudkipzlolwut 1 year ago
@Mudkipzlolwut youre a retard. Polamaul has more rings. He also has made more gamebreaking plays. So suck on it. Ravens will always be the Steelers little brother. 6 Rings. How many u got.
TwoPlusTwoIsGay 1 year ago
@TwoPlusTwoIsGay so why is Ed Reed on the top 100 players of all time and Polamalu isn't?
oh yeah, right.
rings don't mean shit either, my friend. it's a team game. Ed Reed can't fix our problems on offense.
Mudkipzlolwut 1 year ago
@Mudkipzlolwut Ed Reed has played way longer. Polamalu has done what Reed has in half the time.
2121westmax 1 year ago
@2121westmax Ed Reed is in his 9th season, Polamalu is in his 8th.
living proof Pittsburgh fans are fucking stupid.
Mudkipzlolwut 1 year ago
@Mudkipzlolwut Reed has played 2 years more, and Polamalu put up his stats during his 5th season. And Polamalu doesn't get JACKED UP by wide receivers (Hines Ward).
2121westmax 1 year ago
@2121westmax nope, Reed is in his 9th season and Polamalu is in his 8th. Reed is on the top 100 players of all time list where as Polamalu isn't.
Troy should have better stats by the end of his career because Reed is older than him
Mudkipzlolwut 1 year ago
@Mudkipzlolwut Ok, let's try this then. Polamalu has been on 2 superbowl winning teams, i dont think Reed has ever made it past the AFC Championship. Steelers have dominated the Ravens over the past 5 years, so obviously Ed Reed isn't that big of impact, where as Polamalu had the game winning interception in the AFC Championship. Polamalu should be in the top 10 to ever play. Just look at his interceptions
2121westmax 1 year ago
@2121westmax that's a team effort you moron. Steelers have dominated the Ravens yeah, but comparing rings when I'm comparing players is entirely irrelevant. Ed Reed is one of the best in his positions, Troy as a SS is just really good.

@Kalimatai17 Ed Reed can't cover. He's great at watching the qb and making plays, but he has NO cover ability and he tackles like Deion Sanders.
arkansoul 1 year ago
@arkansoul and Ed Reed has made more plays. there's a reason he's on the top 100 players in the nfl and will probably go into the hall of fame. can't say the same for Polamalu.
Mudkipzlolwut 1 year ago
@Mudkipzlolwut Both players play well in their systems. Neither is better than the other. Pittsburgh as a team has won more big games than Baltimore. thus, Polamalu having more rings.
arkansoul 1 year ago
@arkansoul agreed entirely. they both play different roles, but in their respective positions, Ed Reed definitely is better. that said, Pittsburgh has always had a better team (except our SB win) so. our lack of offense until Joe showed up hurt.
Mudkipzlolwut 1 year ago
@Mudkipzlolwut The one difference is that Ed Reed is not asked to stop the run more than Troy is asked. If I'm not mistaken, Ed Reed wasn't on that Super Bowl squad. Reed definitely has more pick-6's and overall "big" plays. Troy is asked to do more on a team with more of a defensive history. I wouldn't argue with anyone that says Reed is better. I'm not saying that he is, however.
arkansoul 1 year ago
@arkansoul Ed Reed wasn't on the SB win yeah, but that doesn't stop him from being a t op 100 player of all time.
they're both amazing players, but in their respective positions, Ed is one of the best FS of all time where as Polamalu is just really damn good.
Mudkipzlolwut 1 year ago
@Mudkipzlolwut Joe fucking sucks. 0-6 against their biggest divsional rival quarterback. That isn't good.
2121westmax 1 year ago
@2121westmax 0-6? what? I think you mean 0-5. Flacco hasn't played Ben 6 times.
even so, what does that matter? we've been to the playoffs twice and have clinched yet another berth so I'm not sure the point of that. he's only the 4th QB in history to go to the playoff 3 times in his first 3 seasons.
Mudkipzlolwut 1 year ago
@Mudkipzlolwut Yes, Flacco is 0-6 against Ben including the 2008 AFC Championship game. And don't go boasting about that playoff 3 times crap because Ben lead us to 2 superbowls and 4 playoff appearances in his first 5 years.
2121westmax 1 year ago
@2121westmax explain how Flacco is 0-6? swept the Ravens 3 times in 2008, beat us once last year and beat us once this year. that's 5, not 6. where's the 6 coming from?
and yeah, you are right, but again this is a team game, not individual. Ben is better than Flacco no doubt, but you're fucking delusional and retarded if you think Flacco isn't a good QB. just because Ben is better doesn't make Joe less of one. you need to learn proper debate. your argument is a house of cards
Mudkipzlolwut 1 year ago
@Mudkipzlolwut Ben won against Flacco in 2007, 3 times in 2008, 2009, and 2010. That's 6 moron
2121westmax 1 year ago
@2121westmax Flacco wasn't in the league in 2007. you are moronic. Ben only played once last year. don't you remember Dixon? and Batch this year?
3 times in 2008, once last year, once this year. that's 5. hush.
Mudkipzlolwut 1 year ago
@Mudkipzlolwut and Polamalu is playing better than Reed right now so thats all that matters
2121westmax 1 year ago
@2121westmax under what statistics? Ed Reed missed the first half of the season and has a FF and 6 picks. Troy has 1 sack same picks, same FF and about 20 or so more tackles. I don't think so.

he's not a center fielder, phil fuck simms, he's a strong safety. you assume he's a free safety because he gets a lot of interceptions, but you're thinking of ed reed. troy just does INTs in his spare time.

This play and call by Jim Nantz was featured in the Madden 10 opener.
Also do you think Nantz was saving that line "Super Bowl 43, Pittsburgh might be bound thanks to 43" for when Palamalu made a big play? Clearly it was not a matter of IF but WHEN.
mjwatts1983 2 years ago

I though just going to the playoffs was great.

khaililasbro dude its not like u think tats wat u see a player open now but when ur the actulal qb its kinda hard and as soon as he saw one guy open he throws
so he didnt see other dude
pker075 2 years ago
and that s what separates a good qb from a bad one. Reading the field. Good Qbs like Payton scan the entire field.
khalilasbro 2 years ago
ye its not as easy being a qb as people think they are looking at a straight view over linemen some are tall so its sometimes hard for them to throw and makes a mistake
999933333 2 years ago
At closer look ...it looks like Timmons #94 had the nice hit on Flacco, not James after all that's awesome, another great Steelers line backer in the making."Damn he's quick."

James Harrison with the sweet inside move off the edge. Would've had a Flacco sandwich if he got there one second sooner. The unsung hero of a great play.
EdmacZ 2 years ago
are you sure that was harrison? i think it was timmons, #94, who comes from the top of the screen and hits flacco when he throws the INT.
gleebergloben1 2 years ago
i think it was timmons, he almost sacked flacco like 5 times this game.
Hawkboy77 2 years ago
the best part about this is that before the game the pregame show guys built up ed reed saying stuff like: "The difference between ed reed and troy polamalu is that when reed intercepts it he can almost always score a TD. Polamalu rarely does." what did reed do in this game? nothing. and polamalu takes it to the house. GO STEELERS
americaHUMVEES 2 years ago 2
Wow, what a farsighted brain lapse. How about Holmes' tiptoe catch or 'Silverback' making the greatest defensive play in the history of the Super Bowl.
azturtle28 2 years ago
Considering they won the SB, that may go down as one of the greatest plays in team history, certainly recent history. I was born in 1980 and convinced myself in 94' that I cursed the team. Maybe FWP taking it to the house at the beginning of the second half in XXL, or Randle El throwing the best pass of the game and Hiney skipping into the endzone. This play is certainly up there, regardless of generation.
azturtle28 2 years ago
lol Flacco must have forgot to read the part of the game plan that said - DONT THROW IT NEAR POLAMALU
