I first heard this song in around 2004 on wmnf radio. I was driving late at night and was mesmerized as I listened. I searched until I found where I could buy this song and ended up buying two of your albums. I love them both.

I love Bill Miller, one of my all time favorite artists; however, I'm uncomfortable hearing him talk about God and a Messiah. is this the same God that those who tried to annihilate his culture believe in? As a "white" person who doesn't believe in any god/gods, I'd much rather hear him talk about the land and nature rather than a fictitious being. God was used as an excuse to kill the Natives and bring slaves here and it's baffling that both of those peoples follow that same god. Hope I'm wrong

I am questioning why Natives and people who are descendants of Slaves would so readily accept the god of the people who tried to destroy them. If there is a God "I believe that there is" then it is everybody's God. I can not speak for Mr. Miller but what I read and head from him leads me to believe that he Believes in one God and that is the God of Abraham. And he believes in Jesus the Christ and that he is the Messiah. The Wikipedia has a section on the Spiritdance

I learned of Bill Miller when he came to our little, rural community college on November 9, 2009. I was absolutely blown away that I was able to witness his amazing talent close up, not in an auditorium where I had to pay $50 to get in and needed binoculars to see the performer. I am so in awe of his beautiful voice and musical ability, and his courage in telling of experiences exactly as he sees them. I wish his performances could be purchased on video. He deserves to be paid when we watch.
