  • My family's recipe is like this but uses Texas toast (thick sliced bread for those that don't know) and it also has raisins in it

    Excellent and thank you!

  • @biocryisis The water is to steam it or to soft bake it.. like you do when you are making cheesecake.

  • That is the hardest bread I've ever seen!

  • im just curious, what's the water for?

  • I've used your recipe a few times (with vegan substitutions), and it's been great every time. Thanks for the video!

  • and dam im gunna need a sharper knife XD Wicked :)

  • dam i need a sharper knife XD haha

  • @KarmaNirwana

    Yes!

You can use milk that you buy in cans or tins.

Also, you can use regular fresh milk, but it will not taste as good.

    Thank you for your question!

  • hi looks good i will try it but what is corn syrup im in Europe is there something else i can substitute

  • @kathyale123

You may substitute honey for the corn syrup.

    Thank you for your question!

  • @kathyale123 Hi, You can use golden syrup, instead of corn syrup.

  • " i am devastated , i forgot to put some raisins in here" ...funny!

it looks great even without the raisins.

  • looks awesome!! i hate raisins anyway, so when i make it , it will be just like that :D

  • @MyEnime

God I love raisins, but forgot them.

It is awesome either way :)

This is like my 2nd or 3rd video and I am much better at making videos now.

Hope you will find something else that you like.

  • should of put up the ingrediates before starting because I can'l bloody hear anything. I'm deaf LOL

  • @Ecka0007

if you look at the videos description underneath the video, you will see the list of ingredients in 98% of my videos :)

  • @freitasex opps! LOL! i didn't see that but i love the caramel sauce mmmmmmmmm yummy.

  • Hello again. The bread pudding was a BIG hit! I should have made 2 batches. Thank you for posting this easy to follow video. It really helped to see it step by step.

  • @blkhillsgma

You just gave me a big *smile* :)

Thank you for letting me know!

  • Hi! I'm making your recipe for my daughter-in-law's Easter brunch tomorrow. I have one question, do you let the pudding set out for the 2 hour soak time or do you put it in the fridge?

    Thanks!

  • @blkhillsgma

I let it sit out at room temperature.

I do not put it in the refrigerator, but you can if you like.

I think you will love this... at least I do :)

Thank you so much for your question!

  • I enjoyed your video. I liked the way you explained in detail with quantities etc. However, I missed the amt. that you used for the heavy cream for the sauce. Sorry, I am a beginner and haven't learned to eyeball measurements, yet. Thanks! I can't wait to try this!

  • The heavy cream is 2/3 of a cup.

Most of my videos have the measurements in the description over on the right side of the video.

    Thanks for your question!

  • Delicious! Thank you for sharing this recipe! After replaying the clip I realized that you did say the amt., I missed it!

  • @acharne1

Oh that is okay.... I miss things all the time... so I decided to put the measurements in the description to help because I hate it when cooking videos do not put the ingredients in the description.

  • Loved the video. Classical music in the background, works beautifully.

I'm an aussie and the super market doesn't have Corn Syrup, oh btw when you say "stabilizer" I think you mean it's an emulsifier. Is there an alternative to corn syrup?

  • You could use honey or Tate and Lyle Golden Syrup, I have heard that is really corn syrup.

    Thanks!

  • awesome thank you v/much!

  • Well you are a dessert person huh?

    Thanks!

  • I have had bread pudding with cranberries in it and candied almonds sprinkled on top with whip cream on the side and caramel sauce :) I will try your recipe for sure but are there any breads I should avoid. tks.

  • I would stick to any white bread... not some dark bread.

    Thanks!

  • "dang, I need a sharper knife"

Nope, you need a bread knife.... the serrations may help.

Hmmm... interesting... using a double-boiler method. Have you tried it without? Shouldn't be needed with a glass dish, but I'm interested in your experiences.

  • can i use milk instead of cream or half and half?? tq

  • Yes, but it will not be as good.

  • what happens if you dont put it in a pan with hot water? does it turn out bad?

  • Thanks for your question.

No it won't turn out bad, it will cook more on the outside edges and not be a creamy in those areas underneath.

  • This is a wonderful bread pudding. The caramel sauce is fabulous. I had to use honey in the caramel sauce because I forgot the corn syrup, but it worked out fine. Thank you for this recipe.

  • What a great idea... the honey!

    Thank you for writing!

  • "so freakin' good" Yes it is! Thanks for the recipe. I put raisins and sliced almonds in mine, and used evaporated milk and regular milk instead of half & half - a winner!

  • I love it when people that can cook watch my videos.

    Thank you!

  • omg this looks soooooo good! thanks for sharin' your recipe :)

  • Wow, thanks so much!

  • I just made this and it is every bit as good as it looks! Even my picky daughter loved it! You wouldn't have an old fashion rice pudding recipe would ya? Thanks for posting.

  • Terrific, so glad you liked it, and your daughter too!

I have never eaten rice pudding, believe it or not.

  • Quite alright! Your recipe still rocks!

  • I can't wait to try this!! I read the comments so I will add the sugar and raisins. I hope it turns out as good as it looks on your video, thanks for the recipe!!

  • I really think you will like it.

    Thanks!

  • hey, I made this last night & boy o boy did it taste GOOD! that caramel sauce was YUMMYYYYY will deffidently make this again :O)

  • Now how can you make me feel any better?

YOU CAN'T, the best compliment EVER!

  • Im in the process of making this and I must say that it smells soo good. However, just thought that you should know that you didn't list one ingredient - 1 Cup Sugar. Im not the type to watch...I wrote down all the ingredients and luckily I watched it before I did anything.

  • Oh my, thank you so very much, I have fixed it now and it does have the sugar now.

    I am so sorry!

I hope you like it, I usually add raisins and forgot them too.

    Thanks again!

  • I actually made this! Tasted really good, i love the hint of cinnamon in there!! Made a little twist, added some vanilla extract though, still tasted great. thanks for the recipe (:
