yes what should I say.. its nothing compared with Wibi playing the same piece...this is way to quick and a shortage on timing and romance.. to my opinion. The start is too quick and misses dynamics mabye caused by nerves..
I actually love how even when you messed up, it was artistic. The only way I knew you made a mistake is because I'm learning this song. Otherwise it would have sounded completely normal and it was gorgeous. It almost had an impromptu feeling, and I loved that :D
that is the beauty of LIVE music, LIVE theatre... the unexpected is always possible, including mistakes. ultimately, there is no freedom of expression in our world, without the freedom to... fail... to make mistakes.
i really loved her interpretation...isnt perfect but she is playing with feeling!i really apreciate that..other ways is not an easy piece...and maybe she was just a little bit nervous...good job! :)
also missed 2:35... but yah COMPLETELY missed up at 2:43 omg... like DIFFERENT SONG was played lol... sry i know ima bitch for criticizing and we all do fuck up but its just funny sry ....
but there is an unaffected yet passionate fliw to her musicmaking that is really promising for a career in music . keep working and we will hear more of you !!
Gosh, I don't understand why everyone is so harsh here. Her performance is definitely on par with most I have heard at the semi-professional circuit. Her channel didn't say she is a professional concert pianist. One should feel more than proud to be able to play this well. I know I wish I could!
Music should be a self enlightened sense, and I envy her musicality in this piece that is one of my all time favorite. Stemming from my inadequacy, I only wish I could play this well.
well, there's several wrong chords and notes. perhaps this was an interpretation or adaption but not as written either by Schumann or Liszt in the original. If the performer intended it to be so, there should be a written explanation. otherwise, it is clearly wrong notes and the4re is no excuse for wrong notes. the people here who insult others should not do so as it is rude and immature.
there is actually one good excuse for wrong notes - they are not the most important thing in music. this performance vindicates that priority. could it have been better? yes, but they are obviously just smudged keys. anyone can edit those out in the fullness of time but this is a high quality performance of the music
Harsh, grating tone throughout, missed chords, rushed ending and lost a lot of the gorgeous lyricism of this piece. Several clunkers, notably at 2.01 and 2.49 - ouch! Van Cliburn plays "Widmung" to perfection, at a perfect pace and with beautiful tenderness. This piece, comparison, is atrocious.
I agree Cliburn version is incredible, but please, give this wonderful pianist credit... Who cares she missed chords at 2:01 and 2:49... very sensitive playing, and great tone. This is great playing and of course, she didn't want to be compare with Cliburn. "Atrocious"??? ahah, ya, of course, it's not listenable...
im sure those chords werent missed... she is obviously choosing to interpret the piece in another way, and i would be impressed if you were even half as good as she was
Such a naive statement--almost laughable. Not only were chords missed, they were extremely crucial chords. The unfortunately botched chord at 2.42 on the words Geist, mein bessres Ich! is a disastrous mistake as it is one of two climactic moments. She is young and shows promise but she seems to lose it when the dynamic range increases. Her mistakes fall well outside any leeway interpretation may allow. The irony here is this piece is so inherently glorious that it survives all such attempts.
to bad about the wrong chord on 2:42, felt like you justed wanted to get it over with after that, the part before that was very impressing nonetheless
Quite nice. Little rushed in ending- she should listen to the incomparable Van Cliburn reading on YouTube. His runs are liquid silver. But she did very well.
nice singing tone, maybe you could take the mid section a little bit slower, and don't rush in finale chords, they should be even and full, overall great!
Just beautiful - the pace and voice is perfect - she obviously has a lot of experience with the song.

@McMingDynasty no only there..
the whole piece misses dynamics, smoothness, actually she does not master the piece as Wibi does.

to me it's obvious that she added her own personal/emotional lilt to it. So all of you relax with your criticism and STFU.

so many pretentious critics hating on a beautiful piece. unbelievable. she is clearly incredibly talented, and i wish you luck on finding a life. =]

No, those chords were missed.

Sorry, but those chords are written down. There is no room for interpretation there. It's just a plain fact.
And even if there were... who is she to interprete Schumann/Liszt?

the finale says STRINGENDO in the musical score. that means to rush or speed up a tad.
