Hello -- Yes, Mr. Hooper, turns out your prediction of a new inlet and possible pavement disruption was correct -- I bet it will be awhile til that inlet is filled with sand again. I saw it on TV from a helicopter on CNN. I also say, please post a follow-up video, will be interested to hear if that inlet broke through where you predicted, and how you all fared.

Your dad is so intelligent and perceptive and obviously has so much personal experience of barrier islands weather assaults. what is his line of work? i wish that the weather channel would talk to people like this! my mom grew up in ocean city, md and she often told me stories of the storm that cut the inlet between ocean city and assateague and i was reminded of that when your dad talked about the nc barriers becoming a chain of islands. it only takes water.
