God I love this song from Kirby Super Star! Also, this game looks really fun! Would you rank it as one of the better Tales game or no?

Definitely one of the better ones in terms of battle, barring the fact that I greatly favour the 2D LiMBS. A little slow to start, but once you get the hang of things, it really takes off.

Story? A little weak, but the execution is pretty good.

The reason I was asking is because there's certain Tales games I love (like the real Tales of Destiny 2, Abyss, and the PSP Phantasia remake) and others that I'm not too fond of (like Radiant Mythology 1 and Eternia).

Eternia just wasn't that fun for me. I didn't like the characters much nor did I really like much else in it. Can't put my finger on it.

As for RM, I loved it at first, but then I realized how easy, boring, and barebones it really is. The battles seemed to plod at a snail's pace, and were the main reason I fell out of love with the game. The monsters in the game don't even put up a fight most of the time. =(

No, there isn't. You can look up translations to the game though, which is a plus. Don't count on it being localized anytime soon either...

At least the PSP version. I know the battle system is a lot different from most tales games, but it still looks good.

Except that it seems like Namco Bandai doesn't have much interest in localizing this game (or any of the PSP ports for that matter). It's a good thing that the PSP is region-free.

Yeah, well, maybe someone will make an english patch for it. I hope so 'cause I don't have the time to learn Japanese (but I am taking Mandarin 1 at school, so if they have it in Chinese them I'll be all set [though I'd much rather know Japanese]).

Im assuming this has been english patched somewhat? I would LOVE to play tales of eternia, but I hate having to refer to a guide every five minutes just to advance. How far is the english patch do you know?

There's no English patch for Tales of Rebirth that I know of, but I think one group is planning to translate it at some point. You can play Tales of Eternia in English if you can find a copy of the European release.

Yes I have it but I dont like it much at all. I was just looking to play a tales game thats as great as rebirth and destiny as far as graphics are concerned. But all the good ones are in jap.

"Good" is quite subjective. My friends aren't exactly fond of the art style in the Japan-only Tales. They don't like the gameplay even more. "Too complicated." Hopefully a patch will be released soon.

Well, I LOVE the art style in the japan-only titles. Its so amazing to me, how they combo that with the graphics of the various arts and skills. I hope theirs some sort of patch soon. I really would like to enjoy these games.

3 Line LMBS movement. Arranging your characters in the Tactics menu for in-battle stat boosts. RG/FG/HP relationships (this is a huge one since there aren't any actual healing spells). Maybe a few other things.
