yeh ive pretty much got the tone now the ds1 dose work for the palm muted stuff but ive turned down the gain on my krank distortion which is an awesome pedal but takes a bit of time to get the right tone

thanx yo you should try a noise gate or whatever and yes i have finally got a good tone for this song i use the ds1 turn the distortion to about 2 o clock tone at 11 oclock and level whereever and i also use a zakk wylde overdrive to give it that overdrive type sound it sound pretty awesome not like the recording of course but its good to have your own sound not someone elses although it sound alot like nirvana on the nevermind album

i think whats gonna help first and foremost is what amp your running bro..tube is always best,so thats what i use live but at home i get my tone using line 6 podfarm software and ive noticed i get the best tones by actually back my gain a bit and givin it some mids..and then i run "tubescreamer",not to saturated but enough to jump genres easily...gain and eq first then start throwing pedals at it...you and your amp are main source for tone..pedals are jus garnish..

yeh ok well i use a very old solid state amp n ive only been playing for 2 years so i dont have tube amps n stuff but i practice heaps so hears my setup

AMP>boss DS-1>EHX Small Clone>MXR Phase 90 Script>Krank Distortus Maximus>MXR Wylde Overdrive>Dunlop Crybaby Zakk Wylde Wah>guitar(Jackson DKMG Dinky) and (1984 Ibanez Roadstar 2) when i get a good tube amp with good distortion il take away the krank

sweet good shit..feb 09 made 2 years for me as well..that seems like alotta stuff in your signal chain...thats 3 distortion/drive pedals..i jus use an ibanez ts808...and the gain on my head is set to bout 5 on my lead channel...

lol yeh ive made up a list of pedals theres about 13 including the ones i own but thats cuz i play so many types of stuff and i dont like multi effects yeh i dont rly use the distortion on my amp at all so yeh i use the ds1 for rock krank for metal stuff and the zakk wylde od to get me that extra push
