Man L8TLY I have been fascinated with the germs.Loved em when I was younger,and then a few months ago re-examined Darby Crash's lyrics,and the germs music as a whole.Man these cats had it all.I am convinced that even when Darby performed under the influence,he was always in control.It was part of the facade,and it was what the fans wanted,so he exaggerated it like any performer.Somehow he was able weave his personal politics into his songs in a very subtle way.I wish he had a 30 year plan.

I was there that night at the Whiskey - Masque X-Mas Show Dec 1979. The bouncers wanted the Germs off the stage and they wouldn't leave. This was my second punk show, I thought it was all staged but when Pat hit a bouncer on the head with his guitar & the guy was bleeding I knew this was going to get insane. Of course it did and the Germs were chased out of the Whiskey and I saw Pat running across sunset blvd with his guitar wrapped around his back almost getting hit by oncoming traffic.
