TLC each had their own purpose. T-BOZ wrote the music and gave it a deep sincere feeling, while Left eye brought it out loud and then chili gave it a softer sweeter edge. Who else could sing what they have and have it become mega hit. They sing about stuff that just make sense. From the beginning they were real. I will miss them and they are my fav and most respected girl group of all time.

It went from Salt n Pepper in the mid 80's to the mid 90's, then TLC from the early 90's to the early 2000's, then Destiny's Child from the lates 90's till they called it quits. Beyonce won't be hot on the billboard charts forever. Rhianna is probably hotter than her right now. Pop audiences always move on to the next thing.

En Vogue was hot SWV Xscape Salt n Pepa, Brownstone, Total Zhane 702 Destinys Child and TLC outsold them all with 3 albums. They had staying power and a strong fanbase as well and kept reinventing themselves and put on amazing live shows

The point I was making is that for a period each of the groups I listed were the big crossover success with R&B credibility and mainstream commercial prominence. Brownstone, Xscape, 702, Total, Zhane and SWV never sold the numbers like En Vogue, TLC and Destiny's Child, who's albums sold millions. Those other groups had hit singles but didn't own their era like the big 4 groups I listed.
