it's good strategy to raise with premium non-pocket cards pre-flop. you need to force out people with weak hands. AQo is worth a LOT more against 1-2 opponents than it is against 6 limpers and you're more likely to get paid off. i don't care if you claim you're always chip leader at whatever home games you play, the world's top players will raise it up with way more hands than just a high pocker pair and they're better than you.
