This song is one of his best! Agreed with davefan2, his first album is nearly perfect and all songs in that album are brilliant! In fact, for me this is his best album. The second up to the fourth albums were still awesome, but from the 'Xin Tong' and 'Wo Yao Fei' onwards his albums started going downhill.

The song was originally in Mandarin by 王文清 (both melody and lyrics), and was released in Dave's first album in 1987. 一生何求 was released in 1989 (lyrics by 潘伟源). The song for the drama 义不容情 which made the canto version very popular.

Excellent interpretation of this song by my idol, Wang Chieh. I like the arrangement too. The composer, Wang Wen Qing, is superb with melancholic ballads. I was told that he and Wang Chieh had an argument after Wang Chieh's second album. And since then, his songs stopped appearing in Wang Chieh's subsequent albums. Is that true? Honestly, they would make a very very good partnership!
