Kong Hee: Anti-Cheap Grace Teaching

Should you tell someone to change the desires of their flesh, or give the knowledge and Faith to kill the desire to sin. Its one thing to not sin even though you want to do it, which means you sinned already through your thoughts. It's another thing to not sin because you have no desire to commit sin which means it escapes your thoughts as well. This is what I believe Pastor Joseph Prince Teaches because it is the word of God not man's opinion ... anyone agree?

God's gift of salvation is free. But the cost of discipleship is everything. I am glad to hear Pastor Kong Hee speaking about crucifying the flesh and the pursuit of holiness. But I do plead that he would study hermeneutics, Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic and also proper pneumatology, as every theologian should.

I feel sad that Kong Hee takes Prince completely out of context. Prince NEVER said that we should sin more, or that sin is condoned. Please find me where he said that. However, it's God who will judge. Joseph Prince's teaching has turned around me and my wife's lives and we are closer to God than ever before. Surely that can't be a bad thing? I believe it is Jesus working through Prince, and we give glory to Jesus, not to Pastor Prince.

this pastor is so busy going round places judging on another pastor's teaching. He is busy condemning another pastor whom also God's child. I cannot find his teaching about Jesus work at all. He who has not sin at all shall caste the first stone. Everybody left, except Jesus. Jesus said, "Woman sin no more....". If i can recall, this is something which is written on the bible. i see grace. i see no condemnation. Who on earth can really follow the 10 commandment. They are law. If we need such law to keep us upright, we don't need Jesus. There are many policemen around. Because I remember Jesus' love for me, I will think twice before I make the same mistake again.

At 0.45 K.Hee said the other pastor said holiness is a position. that means he does not agree with it. I just learned that from my pastor's a few sundays a go that holiness is a position earned by whoever that believes Jesus is savior. I read my bible again and it's true the bible said that. K.Hee needs to discover the bible truth again before start preaching false understanding, which mostly based on human's common sense, not God's point of view.

you know.. nobody is attacking pastor to pastor.. it's defending the gospel. read the Bible more instead of searching of how he is wrong/right or how you aren't condemned anymore, because no, that isn't the case, God is right, the Bible is right. The Bible is meant for us to read, not the pastor to tell you what verse to read, then you go to that verse. Read the whole Bible, starting with Matthew 1:1 not just Romans 8:1. also read Romans 8:1 KJV/NKJV instead of NASB.

Sad that whoever is preaching here is not refuting the message of so-called "cheap grace" with the bible. The bible will not contradict itself. We all know which pastor in Singapore he is talking about. I stumbled upon JP's teaching in the USA and have been extremely blessed to know I'm free and my grace is paid for. Who said it was cheap?

Kong Hee and his people from City Harvest Church will deny this, but it is crystal clear to the Christian community that Kong Hee is talking about Joseph Prince from New Creation Church, who is well known (not just in Singapore, but all around the world) for preaching the gospel of grace.

Google the name "Joseph Prince", and check out his well-viewed sermons on Youtube, and see if you would agree that Kong Hee's criticisms are biased, skewed and totally unfair. Peace.

Pastor Kong is known world wide, but his teachings are not broadcast worldwide, unlike Pastor Prince's sermons which are accepted as the gospel revolution. It's not Pastor Prince who is the preacher though - It's Jesus who fed him the revelation. Everytime i listen to pastor prince he points me back to Jesus and I can feel His presence. Pastor Kong just felt forced, trying too hard to conjure emotions and very judgmental. For example, this sermon, is so bias and he sounds so angry.

Kong Hee is either totally mistaken about what the pastor preached, or is simply twisting the words of that pastor.

Like he himself said, it would be utterly ridiculous for any pastor to preach that kind of message that encourages sinfulness and irresponsible behavior. Such a church would never have thrived, let alone survive in Singapore, a city state well known for being disciplined, diligent, responsible and pragmatic.

When we quote the Bible, we need to do it based on the context of the entire chapter. Pastor Prince never for once, confused me with worldly teachings like how to be S.M.A.R.T and we should be S.M.A.R.T.E.R Try to quote from the Bible, which part talks bout smart and smarter.

When I read the bible, I see Jesus everywhere - Old Testament, New Testament. i see Jesus healing sinners, I see Jesus giving Grace, never for once, giving more Laws.

Jesus is God. If he's all grace, God is all grace!

The Law is always perfect. Which is the problem! We can't keep the law! We can never do it. Which is why Jesus came down, not to break the law, but to fullfill them! We are redeemed from the curse of the law!

In fact, from the very first book of the bible, we know law is a curse.

Try explaining - What is the Tree of knowledge of Good and Evil which brings death? It's simply the law.

Law tells you - do good get good, do bad get bad.

Jesus tells us to live by life - Tree of Life!

So many people in this world are trying to balance the law with grace. But it is impossible to do so ! The Law came by Moses, but Grace & Truth came by Jesus Christ. Check in the original greek that the word "came by" there is actually "subsists" and not "subsist" (without the s). Which in fact shows that Grace and Truth are ONE. If Pastor Prince's messages are so erroneous as mentioned by KongHee, why is it that Pastor Prince's sermons are broadcast daily on TOP Christian networks such as TBN and Daystar ? While Kong Hee is busy twisting Pastor Prince's words, Pastor Prince is busy UNVEILING Jesus to the rest of the world. If righteousness and holiness is not a gift, and we have to earn it, why would God send Jesus in the first place ? It's not about us anymore, It's all about Jesus

Hi eclecticderby, yes grace cannot be earned, but neither does it come free or cheap, that after you receive it, you have no need of repentance or to do good.

The price of Grace was Christ on the cross.

Preaching grace without the balance of repentance is heresy. Grace does not negate repentance, if not the rest of the New Testament all the way to Revelation will not have repeated the need to repent before its too late.

here's where Pastor Kong Hee have twisted the words of pastor Prince. Every sermon that Pastor Prince preached, he back everything with accurate verses from the Bible.

He never did say that we do not repent. Prince says that the strength to stop sinning is by grace from God! If we are caught in sin, we do not condemn ourselves. We repent not by self effort, but by leaning to the cross - Jesus!

Hi Rufino1995, you claimed that he had taken it personal? If he had, he would have named him. Clearly he is talking about a doctrine of 'cheap grace', not about a personality. If he were, he would have criticised his character and personality. Moreover, Pastor Kong also teaches grace, but with every sound doctrine, there are two sides and a balance, grace with repentance, not grace without repentance or repentance which deny Grace. Know the full counsel of the Word !

How can there be grace with repentance? think about it, Jesus is the Son of God, he came down to put away sin, only for humans to "try" to repent? If we sin in our minds, just a mere thought, we sin!

Please read Romans 7 and 8 in their ENTIRETY, becos the Bible states very clearly that romans 7: 9: "I was alive once without the law, but when the commandments came, sin revived and i died."

Jesus came down so tat we receive the spirit of adoption by whom we cry out Abba Father.
