  • If the little girl (seen not heard) had teased them with the bread they probably would have attacked her. They are usually mean buggers. If they get spoiled and then denied, they get aggressive (the same as squirrels). They are also an invasive species that competes against native rodents. They should be killed on sight.

  • how cute !!!!!!!!!!!, I have one at home, they are the most intelligent and loving animals youe have ever seen ....

  • Are they any good to eat?

  • kill em all, but damn they are cute

  • These ignorant people! We have them in our ponds in Oakland, Oregon and they get shot! They are a nuisance and very destructive! They can be very aggresive!

  • There are so many now in areas in Portland, Oregon. They are sort of cute..like a cross between a beaver (Oregon the Beaver state!) an otter, and the tail of a opossum (ugh). Long ago I read they were brought here from Australia and have grown big time. Now recently on the local news the city trying to rid of the Nutria's ended up killing a pet dog. Owners now suing. Sort of a mess when we mix up and mess with nature and place animals where they never were before...

  • @CindyPDX nutria are native to South America, and were brought into the north by a bunch of stupid trappers. They cause a lot of damage to wetland because they burrow in banks. I have a few at a pond on my property and I shoot them.

  • nutria are a pest and an invasive species. they eat too much and displace native critters.

  • If a nutria could talk and told me to come with him I would.

  • I got bit by a Nutria when I was little

  • At that exact pond, when she was little, my sister was attacked by a nutria. You were lucky to have good experiences. I hate the little rats... They're so ugly! The geese are way cooler...

  • I know they're cute, I love animals too, but I totally agree with rurikvred

  • I've got something like that in the pond nearby.

  • Even the Audubon Society says to either trap or kill these invasive large water rats imported from S. America for their "fur".

Their destructiveness has caused devastation in Maryland Migrating Bird marshlands, causing taxpayers millions to try to eradicate them.

The WORST story coming out of Louisiana: They found that the nutria population tunneled through the levees, weakening them and causing them to collapse during Katrina, creating the flooding of New Orleans.

    Think they're cute now?

  • @rurikvred tax payers millions 2 eradicate vermin ! humans tax payers billions 2 eradicate humans ! mmmm whose the vermin here ?? cute critters ? yup ! lived on this planet longer than us ! tigers/whales/dolphins/elephants .. they all vermin ?? we killing them all ! so who,s the vermin on this rock ! ?? .. me thinks us !

  • @rurikvred Maryland Migrating Birds huh? Maryland, to be more specific, Baltimore, has a bigger vermin problem. It's the two legged type of vermin. The type of vermin that fills the city morgues. This same species of vermin can also be found in New Orleans. They also fill the city morgues there as well. Compared to the two legged vermin, nutria aren't that bad. I don't think nutria killed anyone during Katrina. So yes, I still think nutria are cute. Feral hogs on the other hand I dislike!

  • they are so gentle. so gentle. like gentle beavers. they bite your digits off so gentle. love huge gentle water rats. feed em bananas cuz they are gentle like gentle fruit. stupid rough geese. ruin everything. eating the bread all ungentle. not like a gentle nutria.

  • lol That was funny when the woman filming said "You don't want to scare the..." and the little kid was like "thing" lol my little cousin always calls everything "things" or "Thing-ma-bobs"

  • i like to shoot nutrias!

  • @studdlyrockwell you killer of gentle rabies carrying nutrias! bastard! how dare you kill gentle loving gentle things. hope god goes gentle on you in your judgement. you UN gentleman

  • wow grow up

  • @Bubbakadoosh

the bible clearly says. do not kill the gentiles. and nutrias are gentle!

  • you know thats an invasive species native to south america that is threatening wetlands in oregon. it was improted to louissiana for fur trading but has spread across the US.

  • Thank you for posting this! It took me 14 years to see my first nutria in Washington and it was an albino! Have not seen one since and you have a family in the park! We were told by friends years ago not to have a small dog door becasue the nutria's will come inside your home! I've heard some people keep them as pets.

  • Hey this must be at the same pond as my nutria videos are from! Is it the one by Fred Meyer? If so, I was just there two weeks ago and fed four nutrias. It was my first time seeing them in the wild (I'm from AZ).

  • Exactly! You had the same experience of how sweet & gentle nutria are, I bet. Yep, it is the same place. The geese can be agressive, but not the nutria. What a small world it is! Thanks for noticing the video.
