It looks like a fried DVD drive. You may need to get a replacement. If you unplug your drive the light flashes like that. It's trying to tell you that the dvd drive is fucked up. However if your xbox is modded and the dvd drive is able to play movies but not games then that means it was flashed with the incorrect key.

ok this is wat happened to me there is 2 wires tht conect to the dvd drive one black and one white the white one is unpluged so i opened it up and pluged it back in

@jeffhardy8249 Learned that the hard way, my fucking mom's a bitch, she threw my xbox and broke it and it works but the tray is jammed and I cut my fucking finger open on the metal trying to fix the damn thing

There is a large gear to the left of the gear controlled by the rubber band. Try pushing it down, cuz it might have come out of the place from all the opening and closing of the disc tray. Also using a paper clip to manually move the gears could have caused it to come out of place.

there is a little rubber band in there right by the disc area where it open take it out and wash it.... problem solved

Sometimes this issue can be caused by dust in the drive. I bought a can of air at Wal -mart and that did the trick. However I am gonna be honest it was more like a temporary fix. Because I'm playing Lost Odyssey again and I alternate between that and other games I play online sometimes like Gears and MW2 and ITS STILL DOING IT.

MICROSOFT hardware sucks... but at least next month I am gonna get the 250 gb model :D

Looking at the disc tray, it seems that you got a Samsung/Toshiba DVD Drive. I used to have a 360 with that drive and gaved me a lot of headaches, because it was always jamming. I had to call MS support to send the console for repairs. What MS will do is that they'll give you a new console motherboard and a new BenQ/LiteON DVD drive. The new drives have a round opening and don't malfuntion like the toshibas/samsungs. I recommend that you call Microsoft.
