I stay in E mixolydian for the first one and a half minutes or so, with the occasional chromatic note thrown in to the mix.

I use a software ampsim, can't remember which one. And no this isn't the Scar Sym setup, we use real amps for our albums.

Your approach to scales, and your view of the fretboard are truly magnifiscent. Yes, like many are saying, I can hear the influence of Steve Vai and Paul Gilbert, but you have such a unique style of your own.  Everyone will sound a bit like their influences, but you've gone above and beyond "sounding like" them.
