@2nuggs1 LOL that is bc NE prep school are not ranked with normal hs teams.. If they were it would be more than half at least.. Chris Kreider was a first rounder this year, John Carlson, Zach Bogasian, Colin Wilson, Jimmy Hayes, Ryan Bourque, Pacioretty, , jonathan quick.. You've gotta think outside the box other states play hockey at the same level.

Billy Guerin, Keith Tkachuk, Chris Drury, Hall Gill, Brian Leetch, Rick Dipietro, Tom Barrasso, criag conroy, Tom Poti , Jay Pandolfo, Scott Young, Ryan Whitney.. Chris Bourque, Brian Boyle, Josh Hennesy and Keith Yandle all played on the same hs team as did Bogasian when he was a freshman.

@2nuggCatholic Prep teams have their own rankings. Prep schools are not allowed to be ranked in with the uscho rankings, but have their own rankings. It is still high school hockey. Zach Bogasian was the 3rd overall pick in 08 and plays for atlanta, quick is one of the olympic goalies this year, carlson won a gold medal at the wj (had the ot game winner) plays for the caps and was a 1st rounder in 08.

@Canadacup09: well i heard MN has more D1 players than MA, michigan, and ontario combined(alot play juniors though) and about 15 first round picks in past 5 yrs or so.....ill have to keep an eye out for the guys you mentioned....how did quick get to play in the WJ tourney if hes NHL? cause i thought if your pro you cant participate

@2nuggs1 no quick is on the olympic team he's one of the goalies, bogasian would have played on the wj team, but he's in the nhl and prob should have made the olympic team too he's unreal. A lot of east coasters play major junior if they don't play on a powerhouse like bu or bc.

As the Benilde coach said, all STA is doing is collecting trophys right now. They should definitely be playing in AA. Mike Vanelli was one of my favorite all time Gophers but I wonder what his dad the coach and AD is doing here. Boosters I think has something to do with it. The boosters want them to win and wont fund the program anymore if they dont. I think STA should be embarassed of themselves. Benilde lost this year, but at least they stepped up and showed some courage to AA.

Bass yes these are high schools in Minnesota, some were from the state tourney played in teh target center for B-ball and Excel center for hockey.

Minnesota has the greatest hockey from Pee-wee's to the Wild anywhere, that is why we are the State of Hockey

The AA state hockey tournament in minnesota is considered the best highschool sporting event in the nation. It's played where the Wild play (Excel Energy Center) and the Target Center which is also really nice like Jimmy said. If you play hockey MN is the place to be, though I'm across the river haha.
