man might think that what we do is wrong, right or important.... but i doens't really matter what we do, the universe was here a long time before man, and will last a lot longer that humanity. i don't think that humans can do anything that will significantly change or alter the way the universe works. the best thing we can do is trying to understand the little amount our brains can process.

Breathtaking. Something about seeing the universe move against the stillness of our small rock makes me feel very, very insignificant. I look at videos like this and it makes me wonder how long before humans actually come together as one and concentrate on moving outward, not just from the Earth, but from our ancient social stupidity.

It strikes me as a subtle irony that our Stone Age ancestors had a far better view of the night sky than most modern humans. They did not understand what they saw above them, but at least they could see it clearly. Modern civilisation has a far better grasp of astronomy but is simultaneously robbing its inhabitants of the night sky. In this sense at least Stone Age man was better off than us.

It doesn’t take much thinking to see the simple reality that not only Allaah (swt) exists, but that His existence is also necessary for the existence of everything.
One who contemplates on man, life and the universe would, clearly, see that they’re limited and dependent. Man, for example, is limited in form and capacity, and he depends on life that surrounds him and the universe for his existence. Other forms of life, as well, are also limited and dependent. A tree, for example, has a limited shape and needs water for its nourishment and growth. The universe is also limited and dependent.
The universe being limited is simply concluded form the limited bodies it contains. Moons, planets and stars, for example, are all limited, and the sum of limited objects is also limited. In other words, a limited number + a limited number = A limited total. It is self-proven evidence (axiom).
The dependency of the universe is expressed in every celestial object. The moon needs both the earth and the sun to follow around in its orbit around the earth; the earth needs both moon and the sun to follow around in its orbit around the sun; the sun needs gases for its existence, etc. Such an enlightened approach invites the reasonably-sound to decode existence.
Moreover, the limitation of man, life and the universe includes their confinement to time, which would suggest that they must have a beginning and must come to an end. If that is the case, the question that would arise and become intense in the mind is: If everything has a beginning, who is the Initiator? There has to be an Initiator, who began them and created them all. One who incorporates his or her intellect would arrive at three possibilities, of who this Creator could be.
The first possibility would suggest that this creator is another creature; the second possibility would suggest that this creator is a creator who created himself; and the third possibility would suggest that this Creator is unlimited (i.e. He has no beginning and has no end) and that He is independent (i.e., He does not depend on any of His Creation for His existence).Through the use of intellect, we can examine the above mentioned possibilities as to their validities.
As for the first possibility (i.e. a creator is another creature), it is rationally invalid. If the creator was a creature, then he would also be limited with a beginning and an end, as well as dependent - sharing the two common features of man life and the universe. And if this is the case, then who began him and created him!? For the one who created him and brought him into being would be the creator, so this possibility makes no sense, thus it is invalid.
As for the second possibility (i.e. a creator creating himself), it is also false. To have a beginning is a feature of being limited, and to be a creator means that the creator is unlimited. A creator, who is both, limited and unlimited just makes no sense as it is contradictory to reason. Consequently, the second possibility is rationally invalid, as well.
As for the third / last possibility (i.e. an Unlimited Creator, who is independent and free from the wants, the needs and the authority of all others), it is – intellectually - sound and convincing, and this is Allaah (swt), the Khaaliq (Creator) of everything.
Believing in the existence Allaah (swt) is much simpler than this, it is an innate matter and just as I had mentioned above that with a little common sense one can put his or her finger on it. There are so many signs, within the human self and the universe at large, which invite every conscience being to believe in Allaah (swt), and it takes so much effort for one to deny.
When a nomad, who wandered the desert at night, was asked by an atheist - by way of negation - to prove the existence of GOD, he was really shocked that there is an actual conscience being that can be blind enough by not seeing this simple truth and would ask such a silly question. This nomad - who did not go to Harvard, or Princeton or Yale – simply replied:
“Dung indicates that a camel passed by; foot prints indicate that a walker walked by. A heaven of constellations, earth of mountain passes and oceans of waves, do not all of these indicate the existence of Allaah!?”
In other words, where did everything come from!? There must be a Creator who created everything.

@ElJefer, but a statement "God is not part of the equation" is also a belief. One may look a man in sky as unbelievable but to the eyes of a child isn't the night sky equally unbelievable. I am not a follower of zen but agree with it, that to learn something we must unlearn everything - every thought we have is prejudiced by our belief system. Science just observes what has been created. It may never answer how the universe was created as that may go beyond the capability of mathematics itself.

@ElJefer, I knew the very second my mother died so that proved to me that spiritual beliefs are true. But how can one prove to you that it does. It's as difficult as proving eyesight to those born blind. Hinduism looked same problem and realized that a perfect material creation could not be pierced so concluded that only through meditation (looking within) can one seek truth. But you have right to your own beliefs. One does not have believe that man in sky to be good or move spiritually forward.
@ElJefer, the ancients believed in a life force ... Mana (polynesia), Prana (hinduism), Ruach in hebrew. In deep meditation it is one first things heard, a beating drum that never stops beating. They say without it, no life can exists, everything just revert to the chemical substance they were made. So if you really want prove/disapprove the existance of God, there are methods you can try, but you need tackle with open mind.

I learned about the Bible but I found no reason to believe that the supernatural exists. God can never be proven or disproved, and I believe that Kierkegaard asserted that it must remain that way for people to choose freely whether or not to believe. So, I guess I choose not to believe. But I want to ask: why does one choose one god and not another?
@ElJefer, my atheist friends have better morals than many confessing be religious so your journey of discovery may have been doomed from start. The books were written different times for different cultures but many choose to take easiest road as possible - hindu's believe that the one God has many faces but some paths longer than others. Those that don't believe in God can also spiritually grow as long they pay attention to whispers from the spirit within - your belief in God matters not :)

The creation and flood story in Genesis is nearly an exact duplicate of the earlier Babylonian creation story Enuma Elis, and the Sumerian flood story Gilgamesh, both dated before any Semite Hebrew religion began in the middle east by archeological records. The Judeo- Christian religion is simply a replica of earlier religious myths all merged together.

@bornagain001- uh, it's a common fact that the oldest religion in the middle east is Mesopotamia mythology. Every historian, archeologist, or anyone who studies ancient religions know that Assyro-Babylonian, Sumerian religion later influenced Judaism. And Egyptian, Greek mythology later influenced Christianity. It's called patternism. Of course most Christians aren't aware of this. Literally hundreds of christ figures all with the exact story can be found before christianity.

Breathtaking. Something about seeing the universe move against the stillness of our small rock makes me feel very, very insignificant. I look at videos like this and it makes me wonder how long before humans actually come together as one and concentrate on moving outward, not just from the Earth, but from our ancient social stupidity.

It strikes me as a subtle irony that our Stone Age ancestors had a far better view of the night sky than most modern humans. They did not understand what they saw above them, but at least they could see it clearly. Modern civilisation has a far better grasp of astronomy but is simultaneously robbing its inhabitants of the night sky. In this sense at least Stone Age man was better off than us.

Your point about how technology will eventually find out the "hidden secret" seems confusing because science has been uncovering the universe's hidden secrets for centuries but the result has been the opposite of what you say, the gradual pushing-away of superstition. @ElJefer, but a statement "God is not part of the equation" is also a belief. One may look a man in sky as unbelievable but to the eyes of a child isn't the night sky equally unbelievable. I am not a follower of zen but agree with it, that to learn something we must unlearn everything - every thought we have is prejudiced by our belief system. Science just observes what has been created. It may never answer how the universe was created as that may go beyond the capability of mathematics itself.

@ElJefer, I knew the very second my mother died so that proved to me that spiritual beliefs are true. But how can one prove to you that it does. It's as difficult as proving eyesight to those born blind. Hinduism looked same problem and realized that a perfect material creation could not be pierced so concluded that only through meditation (looking within) can one seek truth. But you have right to your own beliefs. One does not have believe that man in sky to be good or move spiritually forward.

They say without it, no life can exists, everything just revert to the chemical substance they were made. So if you really want prove/disapprove the existance of God, there are methods you can try, but you need tackle with open mind.

@0urGaia A few years ago, I joined Bible study groups just to see if by learning from religious people I could understand what makes them believe. I learned about the Bible but I found no reason to believe that the supernatural exists. God can never be proven or disproved, and I believe that Kierkegaard asserted that it must remain that way for people to choose freely whether or not to believe. So, I guess I choose not to believe. But I want to ask: why does one choose one god and not another?

@ElJefer, my atheist friends have better morals than many confessing be religious so your journey of discovery may have been doomed from start. The books were written different times for different cultures but many choose to take easiest road as possible - hindu's believe that the one God has many faces but some paths longer than others. Those that don't believe in God can also spiritually grow as long they pay attention to whispers from the spirit within - your belief in God matters not :)

The Hindu laughed and was questioned why you laughing, the Hindu answered, you swimming in the very essence of God with your eyes firmly shut. So I think God does not hide. I suspect Jewish and Christian books that may help those seek deeper truth have been locked away by those that want misuse religion for power and greed.
