Flash AS3 ScrollPane Component Tutorial: Scrolling Custom Movieclips

I must be doing something wrong, its really annoying me now. I have flash cs5 on AS3 and i have followed each step you did but when I try to run it, it just says "Access of undefined property scrollpane" in the compiler errors. any help would be greatly appreciated :)

I have two problem... when i view it, the scrollpane is white and i have to scroll down past it to see my content.. also my movies play automatically, how do i stop that?? someone please reply thanks!

I know this is for script 3.0 but does it apply for as 2.0? That's all I ever work with and I'm not certain wether or not there's a difference

how would i go about loading different content into the scrollPane when i change to another page?

would i just change the instance name of the scrollPane or would i have to go through some kind of remove child, add child method. Please help.

I did exactly what you did, step by step & it did not work

error messages read

1120: Access of undefined property scrollPane.

1120: Access of undefined property myContent.

1120: Access of undefined property scrollPane.

What didn't I do?

1. You must have mistyped scrollPane. Copy and paste the instance name to the action script instead of re-typing it.

2. Go to library, right click myContent, properties, and make sure the class name is "myContent".

Should get rid of both those errors.

how do you make a movie clip or button link from the scroll pane to another frame? I know how to do it from a normal frame to another normal frame. But when ever I do it from the scroll pane to another frame it throws up error messages. any help?

Thank you, that was a great time-saver. The Adobe help is sometimes not user-friendly...this was very practical. I had my scroller up and running in less than 5 minutes

My other scroll tutorial was building a custom scroller and not using the prebaked scrollPane component. I started with the advanced stuff, and am working my way backwards. lol
