@charmedmutant A box of Federal 22LR is about $18 for 500 rounds, it really doesn't get cheaper than that. They have a tendency to jam/stovepipe sometimes, but it shouldn't be more than 5%. CCI mini mags cost more, but hardly jam at all.
@YokoWenis I just took my new ruger 22/45 to the range today... Mine is blued slabside with imitation rose wood colored grips 4.5'' barrel very sweet...Which ammo seems to work best for you? I used federal and wincher cheap stuff today..had a few mis feeds, but its a new gun and it had to much oil ....I also shot my new stainless 22a S&W which is a great gun also...
@3255959 I usually use bulk Federal because it's cheap and I have a bunch around, but if I was really going for accuracy, I'd use CCI mini mags. It's usually a stove pipe or failure to feed with the Federal, but rimfire is notorious for keeping the gun and feed ramp particularly dirty.
@YokoWenis Yes, i think the fed is pretty reliable...Works good in all my 22's Better then the winchester 555 pack in my opinion..Also i just cleaned my ruger and it has removable looks like rose wood real wood not imitation...I think i got a nice buy out the door $300..happy shooting!
thats a nice toy

The Ruger 22/45 Mark III Hunter is an incredibly good-looking gun (except for the LCI).

Can you kill an animal with this toy?
Veirtimid 11 months ago
@Veirtimid It's not a toy, but the gun could kill an animal or even a human can die from getting shot by a 22 long rifle.

@Veirtimid Its actually called a G-U-N and its not a toy. And its not called a H-U-N-T-E-R for nothing....

good review..That barrel is around 7 inchs ..you measure from where the round seats in the chamber to where it leaves the barrel..

@3255959 You're right, barrel length is 6.88" and overall is 10.88"

@gunterm2009 It's a great handgun for a new shooter. Don't get discouraged by the disassembly/reassembly, but it can be a pain.
