Curb weight and scrap weight are totally different numbers. Curb weight includes a full tank, other fluids, and a given number of average passengers, depending on the vehicle. Research it. Curb weight exceeds scrap weight by several hundred pounds, especially if you empty the tank, and remove any tires, the battery, or antifreeze.. Good luck scrapping, but don't feel shorted when you did not get paid for the curb weight you expected.
@ugotd14u Curb weight is "Unloaded Vehicle Weight" w/o passengers & gear. (That would refer to G.V.W.R. or the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating which is the maximum the chassis can carry) Granted this varies by State & County such as in California, however here in Mass. the Curb weight over the scale is the payout your take is based on., there is very little difference if you pull the rad, gas tanks, drain fluids, remove battery, seats, carpet, & so forth.
