Raam carried a frikkin troika!(turret) and he had kryll that practically made him invincible for short periods. Not to mention he has a badass sword too. can jump really high, but he moved so slow in his battle, and his Dual chainsaw staff thing was shredded in half by a Lancer Chainsaw. Sure Skorge is cool, but Raam is more badass, and better, IMO.

It’s been argued that Skorge is faster and could just chainsaw Raam in half, but lets really look at this…

The Lancer’s chainsaw bayonet has shown to be better than Skorge’s chainsaw staff, as it repeatedly breaks it to smaller and smaller pieces during the boss fight. The Lancer chainsaw also has been shown to be completely ineffective against Raam, and even Boomers.

It may seem convincing, but there are a lot of mismatch 'facts'. Such as why are they attacking humans?

The Lambent are like Infected Locust who are Infected by Imulsion, the Imulsion then infects the Locust therefore setting them Haywire killing anything. So the Locust want revenge on the Humans on Sera for infecting their Species. Gears Of War has yet not explained the product in Imulsion which makes the Lambent more powerful and highly explosive than the Original Locust, that is why therefore they used the Lambent Brumak as a Bomb to destroy Jacinto Plateau.

RAAM was pretty much the equivalent to the general of the armies. Presumably the symbolic head of the locust religion (Skorge) took over this role, while maintaining his role as head of the religion.

They were both heads of two different things. Skorge was the head of the Kantus, RAAM was the head of the Theron Guards. Since Theron Guards were usually the units who would go straight into combat, RAAM was the general of the Locust Army, since he would enter the front lines of the battle field more often. Then after he had died, Skorge took over his place, since he had the next highest position.

If you're that interested in the game's plot, Marcus Fenix was a major before he was imprisoned for abandoning the defenses at Jacinto Plateau to attempt to save his father's life (which was unsuccessful). The reason that he was given the field promotion was because Hoffman understood that Fenix excelled in a leadership role and would fare better than any of the other three.
