  • looks like road atlanta

  • Thank you for being the best person in the world, and building this car. I have a 78 (I know, the G body is nothing compared to this!) But I hope to build it up, and one day own a 70 like yours. I love the combination of everything (I first saw it in CHP) And the end result of 11's in the 1/4, and 150 on the track!?! I want to build one just like it. That is my life's goal. You are the man!

  • I'd be gritting my teeth at 150mph with a stock suspension in that brick.

I know, I know. I got one so I can say brick.

What did you do to the rear suspension?

Did you put a rear anti-sway bar? From a Chevelle or a Hotchkis setup with different 4-link and bushings?

Did you sandbag it or nose up the pinion angle so it hooks up?

Just curious...Nice to see someone putting their foot into it.

  • @bucktheusa I was gritting my teeth at the thought of the corner coming up at 150mph! :) Handling was excellent. Would benefit greatly from the use of an air dam and some blocking of the grill opening to keep the air from getting under the car and hood.

Rear sway bar was not needed. Pinion angle was adjusted s it was parallel with the transmission angle. You can see all the mods I made to the suspension here: cardomain(.)com/ride/703372

    Take out the parenthesis. :)

  • im not into muscle cars, but its nice to see a camero on a track and not the strip

  • @burtoe Thanks but it's an El Camino.

  • @krefly ah my bad! no idea where i got the camero from

  • did you do anything to the suspension?

  • @TheKamakaziX Quite a bit. See my writeup here: cardomain(.)com/ride/703372

  • putfile got shut down. Any chance you could post the rest of these videos from BIR?

  • @vegas2510a I'm working on it. Thanks.

  • Is this an original LS6 car? I noticed the functioning cowl induction flap.

  • @kickZtailout It was an original L78 375hp 396 car. Even more rare than an LS6.

  • what all have you done to it?

  • I would love to do this.

  • Then do it! It's easier than you think. And more fun that you would ever guess.

  • my car only has a 305 though

  • Doesn't matter if it has a 496, 305, or a 4.3l 6 cyl.

  • really cool.

  • EL CAMINOS are cool i have a 86 ss with a ZZ572 cool vid

  • I also have an 86 elky what did you have to do to yours to put in the big block? I was thinking of replacing my 305 with a 454.

  • This is a '70 El Camino, not a '86. It came from the factory with a big block.

  • well actually if u have alot of money u can put in a 599 motor, no upgrades, u will kill nething outthere

  • I have 86 Elcamino w/ a small block .305 with a edelbrock intakes, and a standard rochester quadrajet. Should I save my money and buy a .350 and rebuild it, or should I upgrade the .305?

  • 350. Better yet, try and find a 383 or get a stroker kit for the 350 when you rebuild it. You'll be happy you did.

  • no acually 582 big block is biggest motor to put in a car

  • what? That may be the dumbest statement i have ever heard.

  • yes its a functional scoop. factory option too!!! hope my 84 elky rips too, but mine is a straight liner. cool vid.

  • Is that a functional hood scoop?

  • i have that exact car 70 el camino ss 454 ls6 motor, that engine is the biggest engine put in a chevy

  • the 572 is bigger dumb ass but it didnt come in stock

  • the 632 its a bigger,

some builders its make a biggers engines more bigger than 632

  • nice. was it a 454? love that car.

  • i have a 1970 elcamino to but i dought it will do 140

  • Nice!

  • Thanks!
