Music is amazing. If you write, write some more. People want to hear, maybe need to hear what you have to say. One day, just like we're listening to Mr. Stevens, they'll be listening to you and saying how much you touched their lives.

My best friend was really into Cat Stevens and when "Tea For The Tillerman" came out he was deeply in love or lust or both with a really pretty blonde girl named Lisa. I remember him playing the album, but especially "Sad Lisa" over and over again. I was a Stones, Cream, and Hendrix fanatic, but saw that this was a great album, and curiously, even though I felt she practically teased him to death I never got tired of this song.

@EastofForever Bad, Bad, Bad Lisa!!! That's appropriate, because in retrospect, she treated him like a dog. So really, she was a dog! The violin and Cat's voice must have been torture for my friend. Now he's a born again Christian. We never spoke about Cat's turning to Islam, but he was a real fan and must have felt betrayed. I believe too, but I don't think old Yusuf was a happy guy as Cat, so he found something that made him happy. He's done lots of charity stuff. Whatever floats your boat!!!

@christoJihad2 I too was very very disappointed with Cat when he became a Muslim because I think it is a very misleading religion.

The way I look at it is this:Some of the VERY BEST musically talented people in the world belong to some of the goofiest religions Look at Prince and the Jehovah's Witness, for example! It's like God or nature said: "Okay...I'm going to give you infinite music talent, but I have to take some sense away in the religion area of your mind to make it work."
