  • Some of the responces are saying that they changed to a 21 from a 19 tooth trans sprocket. THe N15cs, G15cs came with a 17 tooth. I switched from the orignal 17 to a 20 and didn't like it. So I went to the 19 and it made it just right for this bike.

  • @mikesn15cs1 Yes, 17T was standard, mine came with 19T from the States and I changed to 21T as this suits my riding better. A matter of taste - I find it too shaky at higher revs, but on the other side, it pulls like a train when it is allowed some revs.

  • Nice bike. I have a N15cs 1967 on You Tube. Check it out. @ APIM0270.AVI

I love these bikes when they are tuned to the max. I'll never sell mine!

  • @mikesn15cs1 Nice bike indeed!

  • Nice Bike! Nice Video!

  • Brilliant restore

  • I bought a red 69 Norton N15 new years ago, which is pretty close to the same bike except coil ignition. Prettiest gas tank around, sounded wonderful, lots of grunt, just a classy bike. My hands would fall asleep on long rides though. Great job on the restoration MatchyAJS! Hang onto it, there aren't many out there!

  • Thanks for your comment! The sleeping hands are well known to me, but going from 19T to 21T on the gearbox really helped a lot on it.

  • beautiful bike!! I have a 65 Norton N15 and just got a 21T tranny sprocket. Hoping this gives me better cruising speed without sacrificing too much power. Putting mufflers on it really increased my low end power too.

  • Thanks! I switched form 19T to 21T and that really helped. The clutch is prone to slip with this gearing, but the ride is much more comfortable. I have plenty of bottom power, but it took me a long time jetting it to obtain this. Good luck with your N15.

  • i had one of these in 1968 and used it in the sand and dunes out by the seashore and it was great to ride in that sort of terrain. needs knobbier tires to do that.

what i loved about it was its bottom end torque - it would pull like a tractor.

  • Great story. It definately pulls like a tractor. I have never been in the rough with it, but apart from the sheer weight of the thing, I am pretty sure it is a good dune slider.

  • not only a good dune slider, but a great hill climber, as well. it's a really great tractable motorcycle... wish i had another... sigh...

  • Nice restoration, will there be another vid of it being ridden? Anth.

  • Certainly, but that will need to wait for a less cold and wet outside. And thanks for the comments.
