I live in california where people drive like their butts are on fire... how well would this car handle 70-80 mph for several hours aty a time? I realize it is a "commuter car" but once a month I make a 2 1/2 hour highway trip to visit a friend and wonder if it would handle the trip. should I buy one or no?

Prius's are actually 30 grand brand new.
My friend was going to get one but went with a new Corolla S
Cool car history lesson, the Metro XFI got better Fuel Economy then the Toyota Prius and it was made in 1992 =)

Metro XFI is said to get 50MPG+
most ppl are saying they are getting around 40MPG on the prius
