  • solo perdi 2 minutos 31 segundos de mi valioso tiempo viendo estas jaladas

  • Well, apparently this video has been banned in the US and some other countries for the use Michael Jackson tracks. It is such a sad day. I guess all good things really must come to an end, such as non-government interference with the internet, and YouTube in general. Way to fuck it up, UMG. Good show... Really, I am not making a profit on this. Stop being such dumbasses and think for once, UMG. This was a fucking SCHOOL PROJECT, not a fucking Emmy nominated movie. Get a hold of yourselves!!

  • @beatmania3rdmix

I agree that Michael Joseph Jackson composed the music for this epic, addicting and exciting game

  • Well Sonic's shoes were inspired by MJ's. I think the music in the Mystic Cave Zone sounds like Stevie Wonder's "Superstition". So I don't see why Sonic's music couldn't have some MJ influence.

  • everybody should of known this, anybody who still denies it is a dumb fuckin bitch

  • This is amazing, my favorite video game character and my favorite entertainer has collaborated for one of my favorite Sonic video games ever

  • I knew it

  • The most obvious is Stranger in Moscow and the credits to Sonic 3. They are the exact same song just that has lyrics

  • ITS ON WIKIPEDIA

  • who is it one could be a good remix!

  • I couldn't help bopping to "Who is it".

  • pampapam pampampapam pampapam pam

  • holy shit¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • I heard zero semblance between Ice Cap and Who Is It in particular. The rest as well, but Ice Cap and Who Is It is like saying Daft Punk's "Voyager" influenced or was used in Eminem's "Stan."

  • Those were horrible, horrible examples.

  • @10akee not

  • could you do a video for sonic 2

  • Yo forgot the most obvious S3 Ending/ Stranger in Moscow.

  • Personally I think Megadeth should compose Sonic music

  • We already knew Michel Jackson inspired Sonic. They even said evidence that Sonics shoes was inspired by Michel Jackson

  • This is both correct and incorrect. Jam is sampled in Hydrocity Zone, but Smooth Criminal is what was sampled for Ice Cap. I have been a fan of this music my whole life and if you listen to the bass line it's Smooth Criminal slowed down. I believe Who Is It was sampled for Act 2 of Hydrocity Zone.

  • hey, im his fan and i have two hipoteses: 1:he composed the song 2: he just take a base in that. but i belive that he composed.

  • Wow... you totally failed to include the most obvious and blatant piece - the ending of Sonic 3 is *Stranger in Moscow*. Now that this piece is referenced by the BBC article about Sonic, this is even more of a shame.

  • Congrats on being linked to from BBC's site.

  • I believe.

  • "There are rumours that Michael Jackson had some involvement with the music, which we can't comment on, unfortunately," said Sega's David Corless.

Another way of saying that Jackson had nothing to do with it, but we're happy to let you keep on thinking he did.

  • @BaubleRob I can tell you that it's a lot more complicated than that!

  • @daveleejourno Stop inflaming my curiosity and spill the beans! Jacko is dead and buried and Sonic isn't liable to sue!

  • @BaubleRob TRUE THAT

  • yes, of course! haha

  • Ice Cap sounds more like smooth criminal.

  • yes!!!

  • Both songs sound badass when put together!!!! XD

  • COME ON SUP LITTLE BITCHES YO MY NAME IS KUCKLES AND NOT COMIN TO DIS PLACE FOR SOME SHIT AND CHUCKLES...search knucles rap

  • The come on part goes like this

  • I believe that the "Come on, Shamone (?)" thing is not too close, but the "Woo!" part sounded like Michael.

  • Comment removed

  • its speed up dumb nuts

  • Listen to Mystic Cave Zone and compare it to Thriller. There's the comparison.

  • the only one that sounds legit was the first one

  • thats cool

  • michael sounds like alvin if you speed his voice up.

  • I decide that Michael composed SOME of the music, but not all of it

  • ice cap sounds more like smooth criminal

    does anyone else hear that?

  • 3rd evidence is just an opinion, which I disagree :/. Just cause s3's boss music says "Come on!", it does not resemble as "Shamone!"

  • How do you unlock this version of Sonic 3's music?! ^o^

  • OUTRAGEOUS

next thing you know, people will try to tell you that there are MJ songs in Sega's Moonwalker game! DO NOT BELIEVE DEM FEGGIN LIARZ

  • @D7maj Actually MJ did help with the music but when he heard it with the downgraded quality he took them off because he didn't like how they sounded.

  • hey can i use PART of this vid to make a vid called, "all the proof i found that michael jackson composed sonic 3 music"

  • i alwayz thought it might be a good idea to sample sounds from sum of my favorite video games, and they laffed at me... what other video games have other artists used in their rhymes?.....hmmm

  • 1:55 cool beat without the singing

  • The only correlation I make is in the first one. And I'm pretty sure that in the miniboss sample it says "Come on!" and in Bad Michael Jackson says "Shamone!"

  • No wonder Sega Genesis had better music than SNES. The Sonic Series had the best soundtracks.

  • Jeez Michel was even in BOTH Space Channel 5 games! Where else in games has he been?

  • Is it just me or does the break part/chorus whatever in Ice Cap Zone also sound like the chorus in Smooth Criminal???

  • I think it sounds like "jamón"

  • I don't believe Michael Jackson composed the music, I honestly Believe SEGA just plagiarized his songs

  • @Darkit2099

You realize the Credits theme was confirmed to be an early build of Stranger in Moscow, right?

He might not have necessarily arranged them (Buxer most likely did), but original composition is definitely Jackson for that song, as are both acts of Carnival Night, both acts of IceCap, both acts of Launch Base, Knuckles' S3 theme, the S3 Act 1 Boss theme and the Competition Menu - as all 10 of these were replaced in Sonic & Knuckles Collection.

  • I'm just gonna say the following without imposing my opinion:

You say in the video "Did Michael compose the music or not?" and then you say in the description "I never said directly that Michael Jackson composed it." You said the last quote in an edit, so it's possible that your total opinion on the subject changed slightly, and you can't change the video, but you do still contradict yourself.

"It has actually been confirmed..." by who? What does that mean? Please explain.

    2:16 No, I do not.

  • Actually the first two songs made me think of the Exel Saga opening, lol

  • first of all micheal jackson was a sonic fan

  • I honestly could care less whether music was derived from MJ or found in a cereal box. It certainly won't change what the game already is, and what happened when they produced it. my look on this situation, is that people seem to lack focus at what really matters, rather than pay attention to the details that don't matter at all. Just play the game, and stop trying to prove points.

  • Something i just want to point out here; Why in gods name would Michael create direct pastiche's of his OWN WORK, or pieces that sounds similar to something he ALREADY WROTE? Especially when we're talking about a man that always managed to put a new spin on his work every time he came up with something new.

I'll accept that at one point, he might have had something to do with the music, but he had no input on the final songs. More then likely, the musicians took inspiration from MJ's work.

  • Sonic ADVANCE 3 too! The whole 4 acts (Including map) in Zone 2 is ALL an instrumental Beat It.

  • Holy shit I never realized that. Respect for MJ, Ice cap Zone had some of the most amazing music ever.

  • this game came out in 1994 and his dangerous album came out in 1991 so STOP it! seriously

  • Michael did help a little in this

  • so this is why the music from sonic 3 went so hard

  • Who Cares!

    Michael Jackson + Sonic 3 = Masterpiece

  • @MasterT610 Michael Jackson + Sonic 4 = EPIC

  • i think so

  • Boom, Cammown..... Boom, Shammown

  • lol 1:50 REMIX

  • Do you reckon you can make a full version of the who is it/ ice cap zone crossover?

    pretty please?

  • You forgot Stranger in Moscow.

  • Comment removed

  • *face palms* Yes michael Jakson helped with the composing of sonic 3 , itsone of the most well known facts about the game , if you guys were oblivious to that you really aint sonic fans , also sonics shoes we're based of michael Jacksons and his whit and humour was based of bill clinton

  • its carnival night not nite :)

  • @hiram765 it's laziness :)

  • @hiram765 It's it's not its ;)

  • @rymixxx Touche :)

  • 1:45

    Epic

  • ...so,did sega rip off micheal jackson or...like,cause there was a micheal jackson game in the 80's for the genesis?

  • @marialso2 No,MJ actually helped with this. As said by someone before, @JakPheonix. x3

  • Shamone!

  • Who cares? Both are awesome.

  • So that's why Sonic music kicks ass! XD

  • @Fanime456 i knw i always loved sonic music

  • Ice Cap Zone theme looks like "Candyman" by Aqua

  • For the Ice Cap zone, the song sounds more like Somebodys Watching Me by Michael Jackson

  • I wouldn't really say that Michael composed the music. Sonic was kinda inspired by Michael, from Sonic's shoes and such. and I guess the songs too!

BTW, Who Is It and Ice Cap Zone mixed together, make a really good song!! =D

  • evidence 3 is obviously bull. you didnt need to put that in there.

  • If sega has the permission to make "Michael Jackson Moonwalker" on Sega Genesis, Sega has the permission to put mj's music on sonic3.

Another comparation is a kind of Music from Michael Bublé and Mario Bros Classic.

  • Check link in description.

  • i think that the sonic themes INSPIRED by michael jackson.

however, look at it realistically for god's sakes.

-do you seriously think that sega could have afforded to pay Michael Jackson to write over 10 songs for their video game (a whole album's worth of material) and then pay him triple their worth so that they wouldn't have to credit him on the closing credits?

think about it logically. its pretty much IMPOSSIBLE that MJ wrote the sonic music. they sound similar. THATS ALL.

  • @iTubeYourDadsMinge I'll even give you a link if you want.

  • @iTubeYourDadsMinge sonics shoes were too

  • @iTubeYourDadsMinge NO he did write it but there wasn't an contract so h culdn't be credited for his work, he also didn't like the noise that the console made because it degraded the sound

  • @iTubeYourDadsMinge Michael might have had label issues. The same reason Jonathan Davis from Korn couldn't sing on the Queen of the Damned sound track. He wrote all of the music, but his label wouln't let him sing on another label so hence the Korn sound on a majority of the songs (not counting some of the other standalones), but other singers singing instead.

  • @iTubeYourDadsMinge Are you seriously THAT transparent, well SEGA, a company, could pay micheal jackson, one man, a lot of money, When MJ Died sega had actually revealed themselves that MJ wrote those songs. It was shown in an interview of The Official Nintendo Magazine, NGAMER, And more. if you still don't think so then you better get your awareness checked

  • @iTubeYourDadsMinge to be honest, michael was the sort of person to use a pseudonym if he wrote work for other people. so he wasnt always credited as MJ. and sega were quite a big company back when, in todays market they couldnt definately afford michael, but way back when, who knows? Lets not forget Michael Jacksons Moonwalker was on the mega drive, and it was quite a hit.

  • @iTubeYourDadsMinge as if that even comes into it at all, u fuckin spastic

  • @iTubeYourDadsMinge Of course they could afford it. Sega was a multi-million dollar conglomorate. MJ is not gonna charge a billion dollars.

  • @iTubeYourDadsMinge Michael jackson composed the music!

  • @luigifan000 Not true. He helped with the music but when he heard the downgraded quality he took them off. Look it up.

  • I say yes I defiantly hear a resemblance.

  • hahaha omg,

  • "I never said directly that Michael Jackson composed it. I said that he had to have some musical involvement."

    From Video:

"What do you decide? Did Michael compose the music or not?"

  • Epileptic Trees!

  • the sped up sounds like alvin. lol

  • Hey, you also didnt mention the final credits, which are IDENTICAL to "Stranger in Moscow" - Seriously listen to it, exactly the same.

  • Nobody said he didn't.

By the way, if you know Project Chaos (that gathered extreme awesome remixes of Sonic 3 by various artists), there's a remix for the Hydrocity zone named "Water on the Dancefloor". Reminds anything? That's right. "Blood on the Dancefloor".

  • @Tailsilver

-but that doesn't mean that MJ WROTE the song, does it?

the sonic music is CLEARLY INSPIRED by michael jackson.

however saying that he WROTE THE MUSIC HIMSELF is a completely different thing altogether. Its quite obvious that he DID NOT write the music in Sonic 3, however the people who wrote the sonic 3 music were INSPIRED by MJ's music.

To say that he WROTE the music based on the fact that a remix of the song has a similar title to a Jacko song is absolutely ridiculous.

  • @iTubeYourDadsMinge You REALLY like EMPHASIZING words, DO you? (LIKE using CAPS lock) xD

  • @iTubeYourDadsMinge Sorry to burst your bubble, but it was actually confirmed sometime in December of last year by Brad Buxer--Michael Jackson's drummer--that he was in fact heavily involved with the soundtrack. He didn't want his name in the credits because he thought the sound of the SEGA Genesis was very poor and he didn't want to be affiliated with anything that degraded the quality of his music.

  • @beatmania3rdmix Brad Buxer is MJ's keyboardist, my bad.

  • @beatmania3rdmix its true..i read the article...they guy who made earthworm jim & mike were working on a game before the bogus child molestation case came up.Michael Jackson ... result of American Hunger.

  • @beatmania3rdmix brads his keyboard dude, not drummer xP

  • @JessOvBHE I corrected that immediately after I wrote it with another comment, as youtube doesn't allow comment modification.

  • @beatmania3rdmix just afraid to take credit for video-game music?! then don't work on the video game. what a nice guy.

  • @panzermk4 He did Moonwalker for the Genesis, and he commented how fun it was to arrange his songs in this fashion. With Sonic 3, however, he felt as though there were too many limitations against him for his true essence to show. I understand his point.

  • @beatmania3rdmix Even though the sound of it was fkn fantastic.

  • @beatmania3rdmix no thats not true i looked on segas website i asked a question they said because of melsation charges

  • i dont hear an resemblance in ice cap zone and who is it

  • Wow, I'm shocked by the striking similarities between that portion in Carnival Night Zone and Jam. I guess it is true. And vocals for a Sonic game does seem quite different from what we'd heard previously.

  • 2:00 sounds like some kind of crazy ass remix xD nice video :P

  • there are a lot of games with songs nspired by artiests works. I mean type in Elecman theme and Journey' Faithfully. I doubt MJ had any link with this game and it was probably either a coincidence or the music company (Or MJ himself) just didn't care enough to press charges.

  • idc the game is still awesome

  • carnival night & jam sound EXACTLY alike

  • Both songs just have the same bass riff, and that's it. It's a common riff that I'm sure you'll hear in a lot of songs, but the chorus sounded nothing like ice cap zone. However, I do think that MJ was involved in the creation of Sonic's third ending. Maybe not a direct composition, but at least came up with the melody.

  • i believe!shamone!

  • In Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection for Xbox 360, It says that Sonic 3 was composed by MJ.

  • dude michael jackson was big at the time when the game was made sonics boots are actually based of michael jacksons too lol

  • and now that i finished the video ill go ahead and say its complete bullshit! carnival night was your best try tho

  • im calling bullshit on the ice cap zone and who is it. they sound NOTHING alike sped up or not lol

  • the sound of the synth is the only reason why people make a connection between Ice Cap Zone and Who Is It, the progressions aren't really very similar at all

  • WEEE!

    Thatz awesome!

  • oh my gosh that's so cool!

  • woah that waz fucked the over layed song

  • Subliminal messages through their music.. very sneaky SEGA..

  • UM FYI MJ wrote the music for Sonic 3, i thought everyone knew this by now

  • ...you forgot that the bassline for Ice Cap Zone comes from Smooth Criminal.

However... you may have to hear the song in the movie "Moonwalker" to see the resemblance.

  • I think he did say somewhere admiting be made the music for Sonic 3 it kinda explains why it won the Mtv awards has anyone ever noticed the shiny sticker seal on the cartrige's top left side saying MTV music awa-- blah blah blah lol my point is, if you remember seeing something like that?

  • Using google chrome as a translator, i figured out that the official sonic team website states this. he did work on it.

  • my favorite game ever had michael jackson music? woah weird

  • i first two i saw resemblent but the come on thing i did not see it

  • No I think they made something very (creeeply) similar..

  • its in the credits

  • its already been confirmed. He worked on sonic 3

  • it sounds MJ'ish.

But mabye Sonic music creators copied certain elements of MJ because in the early 90's Pop music was very popular and SEGA may of just made it themselves but copied a couple of beats off other artists.

  • So basically, to put it simply...Michael Jackson did in-fact compose some of the music with his composition director. Some of his own music is in there too but he was not credited because Michael was not happy with the result, 16bit just didn't do it for him :p

  • @ANFTAMMI4EVER Exactly, so he left, taking his music with him, causing the music to have to be hastily rewritten.

  • @ANFTAMMI4EVER He was hired on to do teh music but sega couldn't cover all of it so they used what he had done and finnisehd it with their own. go look it up, it's really interesting.

  • wow really lol Sonic 3

  • well 'Woo! C'Mon!' is a bit of a strange war cry for an evil robot (most of the sonic3 mini bosses)

it does sound a bit like Shamon

  • LOL.

  • @thegreatNEb

You thought it was a war cry?

  • @bagaaoglong

well i was a kid...it was a boss...and it was coming at me to fight...i was usually saying something like that when i got to the end of the level!! lol good times

  • yes mj did make some music... sonic retro found prove

  • it's no conspiracy.mj did do the sound track for sonic 3.

  • maybe the sonic team was BIG FANS of mj

  • no sonic music from michael not like u said 

they maybe hear mjs dangerouse album then make their own ringtone

  • Evidence 3 was shit.

    "WHOO! C'MON!"

    sounds nothing like

    "Shamone!" or whatever he says.

The other two were rock-solid, though.

  • lmao yeah dat last example was so lame i actually laughed out loud

  • "Michael Jackson helped compose some of the music for the "Sonic the Hedgehog 3" Sega Genesis video game." SOURCE: OMGMJfacts from twitter.. yeah that's right that's why i'm here :)

  • you are absolutly corect

  • Ehh.. it just seems unbelievable. Concidence probably

  • @JM4LAJF "Michael Jackson helped compose some of the music for the "Sonic the Hedgehog 3" Sega Genesis video game." SOURCE: OMGMJfacts from twitter.. yeah that's right that's why i'm here :)

  • I know i know i saw that tweet like hours after i saw this vid, i was like :O

    awesome :DD

  • I'm still totally shocked that this video has gotten so many views and has been so controversial. I did not intend for this video to be so viral. I made it for 1 person to see, and 51,649... that's a staggering number! Thank you to all of the people who took the time to view my video. Every viewer is appreciated ^_^

  • MJ wrote it but didn't put his name on the credits because the sound quality was too bad at the time.

  • @kromen10 : Which kinda blows too...:\

  • @kromen10 That's crazy talk - He had a Sega Genesis game called "Michael Jackson's Moonwalker.
