  • Man, I wish you was closer to Nashville, TN. Would love to see about gettin' some lessons from you. Nice video lesson.

  • 52 ppl don't like how you called it 'nuk-nuk' sound :/

  • what time is it???

  • hi can you tell me a good electric drum kit for £250 please, thanks.

  • Wow, impressive!

  • 80's were just an awesome music decade

  • Please change that snare sound! - Por favor cámbiale el sonido a ese redoblante!

  • @matiasasconeguy that is the closest that I could get to matching the sound on the album. Sorry about that. BzB :-)

  • ooh! so that's how you do that! i've been wondering if there was any way to get a busy sound w/o multiple laid tracks. (although it would help if my set had many an extra piece ;) lol

  • @MayerEO Yes...it takes a lot of pieces to get stuff where you want it. BzB :-)

  • how much does those cost? LOL

  • You're Great!!!!!!

  • close ur eyes and listen to this guys voice. he sounds like the guy from "Alvin and the Chipmunks"...anyone agree?

  • @ElementProductions2 My wife says that I do not sound like Dave...LOL...

    BzB :-)

  • hey bazy the sound you call nuk nuk is a 808 rim sound tuned way down I get the same sound with my dinosaur seq cir Tom using a 808 cartridge which can be synced midi with any thing. Very cool lesson .

  • @boingboomchak Actually, I found out after the video was made that the sound is actually a Lindrum cross stick sound. There are many kits that have similar sounds if you play around with the settings. Mine is a Roland TD20.

  • yo wats the name of your drum set

  • @lampofootball23 It is the Roland TD20. BzB :-)

  • Hi,

Can i add extra cymbals on e-drums?

  • @SanderGuitar97 I thought I had responded to this question but looking back it does not look like I did. The answer is that it depends on the kit you have...or rather, I should say the module you have. My TD20 module has 4 additional inputs for whatever you want to add. BzB :-)

  • @bazybeats Thanks!

  • KICK ASS!!!!!!

  • Thanks for this video lesson. I can't for the life of me keep the open hi hat pattern goin'. I have actually linked a simmons and roland td3 module together and I can't get the exact sounds, but sounds that are good enough and will work.

But I can't even do the main beat. I can do it, just not with the open hi hat pattern. Guess I will practice more til I can get it down.

  • Interesting, so you really should use two snares to get this one right.

  • @RMNCOfficial I dont understand where two snares would help with this...unless you are talking about attempting it with acoustic drums...BzB :-)

  • @bazybeats Yeah, with an acoustic kit I would think it would be really hard to do the snare hits and the sidestick hits while still keeping the hi hat going. Great video though, I don't get all the hate for the explanation. It's really nice to have a beat like this explained at a very basic level. As a music produced I really like to mess around with drum kits like the LM-1 that RFTW used. Thanks for your reply!

  • @RMNCOfficial I would have to agree with you on all points. I really love the beats and kits that came out of the 80's. Sheila E will always be one of the greats for me. Sorry I did not get to respond sooner to your comment...I have just been really busy trying to get up and running again with more videos. TTyl. BzB :-)

  • do u need a special double kick for electric drum set plz tell me

  • @Daniel3347 Nope...I use the same double peddal that I use on my acoustic kit. BzB :-)

  • linn rimshot not nuk nuk

  • @HypeRhymz Yeah...we found out after the vid was made...but thanks brother. BzB :-)

  • That kit is fuckin beast!

  • 8:10

  • lame

  • hey.. thats my Guitar Hero/Rock Band drum set >:/

  • essa bateria é muito lokaa

  • lo peor que le apasado ala musica la bateria electrica

  • are you fucking high you scum bag. get a real man drumset so i can put my sweaty ball sack on it then put it on your wifes chin

  • suena muy feo

  • I want your drumkit... :D

  • Can you play Morris day and the time "777-9311" ? .If so i would love to see a Vid on it.

  • you look like tom arnold

  • my god

  • 9 minute video drum video with 30 secs of drumming. i could be wrong but i think its supossed to be the other way around. and before you tell me im in middle school im 25 and have been playing the drums for 14 years.

  • @that1guy789 Uh...duh...it is called an educational video...uh...it was designed to teach something...they still have not invented a way to teach without talking...uh...so...what then? If I was just trying to entertain then it would be strictly drumming like so many of my other vids...check them out if you are just looking for a quick fix of entertainment. BzB :-)

  • @bazybeats

u tell 'em, bazybeatssss! wit yo bad self!! :)) play on!

  • @bazybeats calm down before you have a heart attack. but i do have a question ive been playing for a long time and i have 3 acustic sets but lately ive really been wanting an e-drum set. thats accually how i found ur video. what do u recamend in the $500-$1000 range.i dont mind paying $5000 for a drum set but i want to get the feel of one first before i buy somthing that collects dust

  • @that1guy789 Well...I have always been a fan of Roland products but I dont think you are going to find something that will give you the feel that you are looking for without paying the almost $5000 that the TD-20 is going for...or the new TD-20 that is going for almost $7000. I am thinking that you should hit your local music store and try them out. See what you think. I dont think you will be disappointed. After you play them..let me know what you think. :-)

  • @bazybeats just to let you know that "Nuk Nuk" sound is a Linn Drum Sidestick. That whole song is Linn Drum. just..read up on 80's drum machines

  • @that1guy789 you're still a dick

  • play more talk less

  • @araedide I always get this same message from Middle School aged kids that are all about immediate gratification and absolute entertainment even if it is at the expense of actually learning something. This is obviously an educational video that would require quite a bit of talking in order to explain the details...so why do you watch it then if all you want is to be entertained. Maybe you should relax and watch and maybe learn something from an elder that is willing to teach. BzB :-)

  • genius

  • The nuk nuk sound? Best name for it I've ever heard. Does it even have a proper name?

  • tarda mucho en charlar

  • Complicated but you did that!!!! 2 tumbs up.....

  • love it !!

  • Nice job BzB!

  • wow, just WOW!!! One of my favorite tunes. You did an incredible job! It seems so complicated, but you explained it nicely. If I close my eyes, I'd swear there were two drummers :-)

  • Awesome, i dont play drums yet but im startin lessons soon, i want sum electronic drums in my room, can sum1 give me advice on which brand are the best?

  • i think Roland are the best

  • ....And folks, There u have it!! Good job man, drummer to drummer, Good job!! keep up the good work.. :-)

  • Damn!

  • Comment removed

  • Pure talent thanks for sharing that!

  • Freakin sweet!!!!!

  • Awesome lesson! My sister and I just just brought home a genuine Linn Drum LM1 thats pretty beat up. I have to do extensive rewiring. Anyways, we were wondering if its able to hook up to Roland TD9SX.

  • Well...with your knowledge of wiring and such you may know of a way to get it done better than I would but I am pretty sure that MIDI was not around at that point. I always see drummers hitting pads of some sort in videos that used Linn sounds...but I am not sure if that was just for the effect of video or if they really had a system of pads that can be used. I would think that the newer electronics will not connect unless the Linn has MIDI connections. BzB :-)

  • @bazybeats Ok! Thank you!

  • Dude this is a perfect roll out of the Oh Sheila shed!

Let me put you up on game.... Being that I played with RFTW and have been in the recording game in Flint, MI with Bernard Terry and out in Edina, MN with Flyte Tyme Studios..... That "NUK NUK" sound you refer to is actually from the original Sequential Circuits LINN DRUM machine. Prince used this and so did RFTW!

  • tio congratulations ... you are a genius of percussion

    From Spain

  • Thank you very much. BzB :-)

  • real good lesson. cool video. great drumming. check out my bass-vid for oh sheila!

  • Bazy nice stuff mate, I always wondered about the possibility of sounds offered by electronic drums. Thanks for opening up our minds to all they have to offer. Great stuff and keep it coming.

  • Thanks Bro...I enjoy sharing what I have learned over the years in order to further the art of drumming and performing. BzB :-)

  • Insane nice kit u got there, and im getting this for christmas, gonna be fun :D

  • Very, very well done. You explain everything so clearly and completely. I wish my drum instructor would have been as thourough!! Keep up the great work.

  • I am glad to hear that you liked the vid. Many people get frustrated with me because I take so much time to explain things. They do not understand the importance of learning when people take time to teach. BzB :-)

  • Right on! Great demo!

  • Thanks for the great comment. I appreciate that you made time to write. BzB :-)

  • SOLID!!

  • Thanks...BzB :-)

  • nice drum set, im gettin one like that

  • oh shiatzu

  • damn dude!!!

    crazy set up!

    nice job :D

  • That was very good. You picked a great song to play and you have done it well. Thank you. And don't listen to any of the negative comments. Keep doing what you are doing, playing great music.

  • That is definately an interesting thought. I have a nicer one now...with hydraulics. BzB :-)

  • cazzo bella batteria

  • Bro too much talking, we get it.

  • Sorry that my talking displeases you. Next time I will pantomime. BzB :-)

  • whooo that was tight lol i love that song to but i dnt think i wud be able to play it

  • Really...all you have to do is set your kit up to where you feel comfortable playing the beat. With electronics any configuration is possible. BzB :-)

  • Muy bueno ;)

  • Gracias...BzB :-)

  • lol i have the osp dd502 pro mod. these things are fun, and awesome for covers.

  • I love your videos, and your setup. I am learning coordination and timing, and just having a great time!

  • holy shit dude 7.5k $ man... u must really love playing drums to spend 7.5k$ on em =)

  • Very nice video, and amazing drum set, I plan on getting a electric drumset prolly a simmons cheap one. Nice Vid. :D

  • Thanks for the great comment. BzB :-)

  • how much is the cheapest one?

  • how much does this cost? i want to buy an electric drumset

  • The base 6 piece kit is around $5,000. This kit in the vid had additional add ons and I would estimate them at about $2,500 more.

    BzB :-)

  • Any dick can play that with that electronic/expensive setup. LOL

  • Aw..is someone upset because I saved every penny I had and went out and bought something nice for myself. But actually...I am hoping that with this video even kids with lesser priced kits will be able to copy what I am doing. They just have to re-assign the sounds so that they have ones similar to what I am playing and then find a set up that they like with them. This vid was not supposed to simply show off an expensive kit. What a moron. BzB :-)

  • you talk too much

  • Ya think maybe you are watching an educational vid and not just instantaneous entertainment. Hmmmm...middle school student maybe...I am thinkin. BzB :-)

  • Maybe.. Educational based videos are great but try making that part more interesting.Still a great drummer

  • Thanks for the comment fftball...I will see what I can do with it...but hey..instructional vids are what they are and sometimes there is not much you can do with that...except maybe I can spit fire or juggle chain saws or something next time ;-)

    BzB :-)

  • awesome, but I think we were expecting you to play more. We love it!

  • Thanks...yea...I have teaching vids and playing vids...ya just have to navigate around my channel a bit and you will get plenty of footage of me playing. BzB :-)

  • Actually, nice belt carrier.

  • Thanks for noticing...I have a new one now though. :-)

    BzB :-)

  • Nice cell phone.

  • Did you even use the additional pads??

You have inspired me to get my V-Tour out of the attic, set it back up again and tune into Bazy!!

  • You obviously did not watch the entire vid...yes...I did use the pads for the clap, shaker and some other stuff.

I am glad that the vid inspired you and you are ready to get crackin. Thanks for checking out my vids and thanks for the wonderful message. I will have more vids on the way.

    BzB :-)

  • Dude u are THE funkiest white boy ever on the drums!!!!! I thought 7779311 was good but u CRUSHED Oh Sheila!!!!!! Madd props son!!!!

  • Thanks for checking out my vids and taking time to comment. I actually did this vid before I did 777-9311...this was one of those songs that we had always wanted to play but we were afraid to try to jam it live because the drum part really fills the song and it was very busy. Then I sat down over the period of about a week and devoted my spare time to the beat and setting up a kit that would work for it. This is what we ended up with. You can hear our version on my MySpace page. BzB :-)

  • Are u strictly a R&B guy or do u do rock and metal as well? I'd love 2 see your take on bands like Slipknot or Pantera...

  • Very gay! ahahahahahahahahah

  • Thanks man...I have quite an extensive library of vids here on my channel...and I will be putting more out as time goes on.

    BzB :-)

  • Nice video. Developing muscle-memory for complex rhythms like that is always hard.

I remember playing along with that song when I was first learning and it's a toughy - those nuk nuks are on a wired off-beat that threw me for a long time. I *never* incorporated as much of the other percussion stuff as you do - I'm very impressed with your technique.

  • Thanks a bunch for the great positive comment. I am glad you liked the vid.

    BzB :-)

  • Yep...you must be an expert on Gay since that seems to be the only word you know. I see this is the second vid of mine that you have posted the exact same three letters in that order. So maybe you want to tell everyone why Gay is the only word you know? Maybe you are looking for a BoyFriend? Why dont you explain yourself a little better so people dont get the wrong impression of this "Gay" thing.

    BzB :-)

  • xD this awnser was the best i´ve ever read to "gay" xD

  • Thanks for the response... I just wrote what I was thinking after seeing that same comment from that same jerk twice in a row.

    BzB :-)

  • BEAUTIFUL

  • hey man your and amazing drummer. and its obvious that your a beast a electric drums. i was wondering if you know any good websites for good electric drum sets cheap since the economy is so sucky.

  • Your tune "Grace in Solitude" = "Awesomely Good!" :D

  • Thanks a bunch...I have not had much feedback on those songs. I appreciate that you took time to let me know.

    BzB :-)

  • hey do you know any more of this songs with multiple drum tracks? they're great to practice to!

  • There is a lot of 80's R&B, Rap and Pop that has more than one track of drums and percussion. You just have to dig a bit. Check out other prince songs for starters. BzB :-)

  • Damn Im pretty curious what TheDrumCritique had to say. Mainly because I like to get Youtubers pissed off too ;).

    But you drum good :)...

  • Thanks for the nice comment. Being a hater is sad. I never got to see that guys comment...but I am pretty sure he is now stalking me. I think he has been getting new accounts with different screen names so he can continue to talk trash. I dont understand what he gets out of it. I like to try to make friends and not treat people like trash...I would rather share info. BzB :-)

  • Awesome!

  • Great job. Thanks for the lesson. TheDrumCritique suggests you get to the gym. I suggest that the 'Critique' get to a classroom. Hey Critique, ever hear of Capital letters, punctuation or complete sentences? Also, it's 'you're' not 'your'. I get the feeling Bazy could play rings around the Critique. Just a guess.

  • thanks so much for the support and for watching my back. I did not even get a chance to see this guys comment and I guess so many people gave him thumbs down that it automatically took his comment down. Whatever he said must have been very disrepectful though...so again...thanks for watching out. I apprecaite the complements and loyalty to what I am doing here. BzB :-)

  • Not a problem. That guy, 'Critique', was being a prick. I don't know what his problem is. Anyhow, I have been playing the drums for about twenty years. Unlike the 'Critique', I love to watch other drummers no matter their level of experience. By watching other drummers, I have learned many different fills, techniques, tricks and beats. Rock on my friend.

  • Thanks again...I will be putting some more informational and drumming vids out soon.

    BzB :-)

  • Dude - nice work man. "TheDrumCritique" can probably just change his name to "TheCumSwallowingCritique" cause he is clearly a penis loving shit-head. Keep up the good work BazyBEATZ!

  • Thank you for keeping an eye out for me...As I stated above, I had not gotten a chance to see the comment before it got removed. judging by the backlash, I am guessing it was pretty nasty. I appreciate so many people coming out and putting this guy in his place. I have seen him before on my vids and we have had words. BzB :-)

  • now this one is simply great!!! =D

  • i still want your drums sets hahahaha

  • You're the man!!!

  • Thanks for the vote of confidence.

    BzB :-)

  • DUDE!!!!! I'm goofing around on the net and found you while checking out a old "THE TIME" video. NIIICEEE!!! I bet you're a fun guy to be in a band with. As a bassplayer myself I love how you broke down a few of the 80's jams. Funk on Brother!

    doc

  • Thanks a bunch bro. this was a great comment to finish out my evening. BzB :-)

  • I want those drums :D great drumming though...

  • pwizzz can i hav ur drums? hehe

  • I think I will have to keep them for a bit yet...But I will keep you in mind if I am ever ready to throw them out. :-)

  • jaw-droppingly awesome!

  • Thanks RSH...I appreciate those that take time to write a positive message. BzB :-)

  • you have a big ass electric drum set

    how much did it cost?

  • The basic kit is 5,500 but I have added a lot to it...I would guess it is worth around 8,000 now. BzB :-)

  • Still love ur drums, you're really good! I look up to you! ;)

  • Thanks for the message...BzB :-)

  • AWESOME !

  • Thanks ...BzB ;-)

  • awesome.

  • Thanks...BzB :-)

  • i was looking for tips on using a drum kat and found this great video with you teaching please keep doing wat you do .peace

  • Cool...thanks for the message. The vids will continue to come. BzB :-)

  • I'm not a drummer...but i think i could learn by watching you. Excellent class. The Nuk Nuk is just a tuned down side-stick I think. I used to get pretty close with an R-8.

  • Yea...I have since found out that it is actually a cross stick from a Linn Drum Machine. Thanks for the great comment. BzB :-)
