Just found this playthrough almost a year later. Picked up GW and I was SO LOST. I played WoW for almost 6 years and I couldn't figure out crap in this game. Your Let's play is so imformative. THANK YOU for helping me feel like less of an idiot :)

im just considering playing this because of the second game on its way but i have to say it looks nice and seems to do so without eating all the power of the computer its being played on....

@wodka450 it's still a great game for sure, and yup it pretty much runs on the smell of an oily rag ;p there are also advantages to playing GW1 before GW2 comes out - look up the 'Hall of Monuments' on the Guild Wars Wiki for more info =)

@wodka450 Reggie and i will definitely be playing GW2 - as soon as it's released we'll be in the midnight queue =) as for the technical specifications, it's too early to tell as i haven't got my hands on any form of playable copy yet, but if they're previous mandates are anything to go by i have no doubt they'll ensure it scales well across many different setups =)

The circle is officially called "Danger Zone" (or aggro bubble by most players). It's not the range of spells. It's "Withing earshot" range, the range of shouts.

Most enemies will attack you in that range, but some will see you from a greater distance, and some are passive, so they won't attack you even if they get inside your aggro bubble. Those are mostly only animals and enemies of level 2 or less.

Normal spell range is actually a bit bigger than that, like recurve bows, wands and staves.
