  • I love that battlecat uses alot of vintage gear and makes some of the most bangin joints ever. i see he rockin the MPC 3000. sickness

  • Let Me GEt That Battle Cat..

  • There is a difference from TIMELESS music & TEMPORARY music. Almost all them Lex Luger Beats are coo but they get old fast. Hard in the paint can't even get played cuz its played out. U can't play out classics!!! Battle Cat made Classics already!!! BTW Zaytoven has the best beats in the south. His shit changed south music. Everybody wanted that Gucci Sound that was made by Zaytoven. & ZAY Is from The WEST COAST!!! Whippin' Em At They Own Game!!! BattleCat is a Legend.

  • anyone know what the name of this track is? who it was produced for? would love to hear the final track

  • First of all im not no fucking fool...second lex luger has the best southern beats i ever heard...Im just saying you cant compare trap music to west coast...Talkin bout me..nigga you is a clown

  • First of all Lex Luger sounds he took from Shawty redd get your facts right...Battlecat is a fucking Legend..You can not compare dirty south trap music to west coast music different genre to hip hop

  • Attention New Artists if you label your music to a certain coast, you selling yourself short.Good Music is Good Music.Be creative and make the music you wanna make

  • FONKY!!!!!

  • I just LUV them Crip Flags ova the monitors....RSC4LzzzIFE CUZ!

  • @avalanchecanvass HAHA!! first of all Lex Luger and Battlecat produce in different areas. Two different kinds of beats. And you say Lex Lugers' beats hit harder?? Battlecat is a sound designer. His drums are definitely harder than those stock sounds Lex uses. Battlecat washed up?? you say that because he's not out in public and what not, huh? lol. You're a funny guy.

  • musical genius that doesn't just sample!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm from the East Coast, and I have to admit. When the video first started I said to myself, 'What the hell is this?" Then as the video progressed I couldn't stop nodding my head. The timing is what makes the beat hot!!! Not robotic at all! Good work!

  • @AwillzProductions Its that live groove feel, because its an original groove, not programmed, you never heard that groove before. So it takes a min to get into it, but once you feel it, its better than any programmed beat. The best songs always take a listen or two to understand. BC is a genius. Dude talking about lex luger is a fool.

  • Real West Coast Shit!!!CHECK OUT MY BEATS!!!

  • "Killatroz - Gangsta Brasileiro"

    Listen!!! California and Sao Paulo

    Brazil The Gangsta's.

    Listen!!

  • LOLOL @ ni**as saying Battlecat is washed up LOL #comedy

  • For all who are knock BC powda, talking bout timing issues and etc..peep Snoop's new album..listen to "The way it used to be" ...end of story !!!!!!!!!!!

  • nice beat man! I like it alot!

come check out my channel if you get chance. I make my beats with PAPER! lol.

Let me know what you think and subscribe! :)

  • ....lex luger has nothing to do with battlecat ... two totally different styles in different areas... and if you can't understand his timing then you probably aren't a fan of J-dilla which in that case your opinion is meaningless

  • LOL who was comparing Lex Luger to the BattleCat...thats quite funny. One is a Legend, an exceptional musician and responsible for the West Coast sound for the last 3 decades and the other is a up and coming Dirty South beat maker that programs his beats with a mouse. How can someone compare a Hall of Famer to a Rookie.

  • @BobbyBeatsTV I agree. This is a real producer man!

  • @BobbyBeatsTV THATS WHAT IM SAYING BRO,,,I LOVE HOW THIS NIGGA GOT THAT WESTCOAST VIBE,,THA SOUTH AND EAST COAST VIBE IS DIFFERENT WHEN IT COMES TO MAKING BEATS,,,

  • PERFECT!

  • Ras Kass fits his beats the best

  • A lot of people on here don't understand West Coast Production, or Battlecat and his sound. The timing is part of his sound. all his bits have a unique, Battlecat swing on them. I should know, i mixed one of his tracks back in 2000 at the Cave Studios in Hayward California for a record label i used to work at. It was off of Twice's album featuring Korrupt of the Dogg Pound. We took the song to KMEL and they played it a but but it wasn't huge. The timing is on PURPOSE. It's a West Coast Sound.

  • you don't have to make beats using quantizing, its just an option.you can use your body internal metronome

  • 64 people dont know shit about good WC production

  • @onestepbeyond6300 Here We Go Again, Another Rap Lesson On The Internet, C'mon Playa I Get That, But In This Video He Should've Been Saying That In The Process, Explaining The Step by Step What He Doing For The AUDIENCE, But Instead He's Just Touching This, Playing That, With No Information, Thats Why I Say....WHAT IS THE POINT!!

  • BattleCat Has Made Good Beat Before, But This Ain't One Of Them.

  • go on cuz get this shit craccin one luv tip top

  • hot damn dis beat if FUCKIN DOPE AS SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you can't touch this shit right here!!!!!

  • ill

  • the loose timing is done on purpose... smh

  • Nice!

  • Pure programming, over some people heads

  • i must say...more engineers nowadays need to thank ZAPP (Roger Troutman) for his work. Because many west coast producers definitely get they sound from him-real talk...and im from west so i aint hatin, just sayin give respect where its defintly owed...much love!

  • @LeSiPeKi03 they are giving respect by keeping his sound alive bra... WEST-WEST

  • Are you kidding? Sounds like someone falling down some stairs badly.

  • @oceansofarian LET ME GUEST YOU MUST BE A SWIZZ FAN.. THE KINDA BEATS THAT SOUNDS LIKE SOMEONE THROWING CANS DOWN THE STREET

Unfortunately that's what your paying for and listening too! At lest back then they had limited resources and actually had to think about the art, Instead of copping it out respect it because without that ...you would have more of the garbage that's out today!

    & 2nd - What tune is this?!

    H!Tman

  • there are some timing issues here

  • @Inyang53 its the type of the beat. u will hear it alot in old school beats bro

  • @Inyang53 it's quantizing being turned off. a lot of mpc users do that to give an unique sense of vibe to the track!!

  • @xhimiz14 co. sign 100% It gives the drums that bounce

  • @xhimiz14

you can get that same sound with a NI maschine

  • @Inyang53 cat likes to let it hang looooseee you already know!

  • @Inyang53 I think what you're referring to is intentional... "swing".. That's a west coast thing...

  • @iAmRedCharon

    ???Thats a jazz thing...like 1920s...

  • @Inyang53 no timing issues if it keeps looping without overlaping, It was an intentianl broken rythm kinda like Roy Ayers. It keeps it from sounding processed.

  • @Inyang53 lol....Timing Never Meet This Beat. My Question Is Why Post This.

  • @Inyang53 u must not own a mpc over there LOL swing jr !!!

  • @Inyang53 lol, you have no clue what you are talking about, no knowledge about music, no feeling for music or whatsoever, you either need to step your game up, or leave it to the pro's #Battlecat Legend

  • @Inyang53 i don't think they are issues...

  • whats the name of this song

  • I NEED TO GET OFF FRUITY LOOPS AND GET SERIOUS

  • @DREQON2005 do it,it would be the greatest thing u can ever do.if u like more of the hands on thing....hardware.....mpc,synths,sound modules, mixer and pro tools.

  • Damn Cuz , When Yall Go To Sleep Let Me Gaurd The Studio !

    haha Sick equipment Homie !

  • That Motif he's playing has the DEEP sounds on it but I HATE it's internal sequencer.

I can't tell which device he's sequencing on 4:46. OK He must be sequencing on that big Phat MPC.

None of that is as easy as it looks.

  • he is one of those producer who looks for the sound in the sounds he is playing until he finds the groove, good shit
