With the XK8 Jaguar has reached the non plus ultra of car beauty. It is a flawless design and I think Jaguar should seriously consider sticking to its design and stop pouring new ones. Maybe a few changes in the engine and suspension now and then to improve the performance.

american cars ARE getting better though. check out the interior of the latest mustang; it isn't all that bad at all. american engines aren't bad just because they're simple either. the GM LS engines are a good example. they're old tech, but they're reliable, powerful, light and relatively good on gas.

@Pwned000 Yeah, the Mustang Shelby's are good cars, not the car I'd choose though ( too weak handling and dont meet Eu-standards). Manual Gearboxes are better in many ways, and its proved that manual gb's needs less mainentance and perfoms better than automatic. But I have to disagree about the German cars. Cars like Mercedes, Porsche and similar might be big and heavy, but they are really good cars. I just love the mercedes SLR mcl' .

@09csr there are good cars from all over, really. american cars from the 60's-early 70's, 2011+ mustang, corvette, viper, BMW E36, E46, E39, E34, subaru WRX STI, so many different porsches, aston martin vantages, the list goes on haha. i love just about everything

The later E-types beat the crap out of the DB6, the XJS was way better than the old DBS/V8, the later XJSs were better than the Virage family, the XKR was better than the DB7, the current XKR is better than the DB9 or the V8 Vantage... and now Aston is making four-doors, the XJ Supersports is way better than the Rapide.

@galbmw ive done it in my saab by accident. i wouldnt recommend it as a regular thing, but she can handle it. the sentra just stalled instantly though. i mean any backing off from the clutch and bam it died, even if you floored the gas. i don't think its a matter of power. i mean i wouldn't compare a saab 9-3 to a DB7. i'm not sure what it is exactly that causes that . to be honest transmissions are quite mysterious to me, yet somehow i still find this all very impressive.

@maikeru01 it's all in transmission. if its built to accelarate really fast it also means its really short. if you want to go in higher gear you need either a supercar because of power or a car with a transmission with vwery very long gears. and saab sounds like a right car for it.

I didn't like the normal DB7 but I loved the DB7GT. It wasn't designed to lap the Nurburgring 0.003 seconds quicker than its rivals; it was designed to put a smile on the driver's face and be a comfortable grand tourer. That said, I'd rather have a DB9.
