  • Probably best FPS port for DC

  • Curiously, I still play this game and QuakeLIVE... I kind of left out the PC version lol

  • we had this on a friday night it was pourin down with rain ....bring it all back think we stayed up til it came light playing this

  • Oh boy this takes me back...

  • This still works online

  • You guys are wrong Dreamcast will never die, at least in my house.

    Cheers!

  • jajjajajajajjjaa LOL !!!!!

  • I still cant believe a machine like dreamcast failed

  • omg i must need get this fuck

  • would it be worth it to get a dreamcast? theyre like 30 bucks now

  • i missed this game

  • is there any slow down? cos when i played unreal tournament it was laggy when you looked at the entire map or if you got right into an enemys face, is it just my dreamcast being all old :P

  • it was probably the first shooter on console to have a steady frame rate. It was 30 fps pretty much flawlessly. Unreal was bad with slow down and that's why I couldn't play that game for more then 1 hour. This was awesome, played it for 3 years straight was famous on it hehe good times.

  • wtf that is fuckin lame lol

  • with a mouse and keybord i would defintly get a xbox.

  • DAMN!!! THE DREAMCAST VERSION LOOKS SO COOL! i have the ps2 version, but i would say the dreamcast is better because it has online, better music, maps and you can connect a keyboard and mouse to the DC and play like it was on pc!

  • ps2 version was a joke, this game was all about online, amazing and st ill my all time favorite online console shooter.

  • are you playing online?

  • Can I still play seganet in America

    If not

    How can I?

  • well wen i had dialup a year ago i was paying Quake3 online with no problems. icant play it now cuz dont have the bradband adaptor for de DC i wish i had :(

  • @unholynessxera You can play the DC online still using a PC to DC server. It allows you to forward broadband through your pcs dial up modem and into your dreamcast at dial up speed so you can connect online.

  • XBox 360 should put this game on XBox Live Arcade,This Game used to the Bomb!

  • Im 15 years old and I still have this game and the system. Yes I still play this but you should totally put it on bodyview mode its easier.

  • Q3 Arena on Dreamcast in the UK played super smooth with our 33kbps modem, no lag at all. Segas online service was solid

  • you aren't too great at this game

  • totally shouldnt have chosen to use the railgun with quad damage.

  • I have the computer version of this game and its alot different. The maps are gameplay are the same, but a lot of the stuff like the loading screen and health bar and the weapons bar are different.

  • Spent many nights playing on US servers with a crap 33k Modem lol! miss those days :(

    Can't believe it's nearly 10 year ago!

  • they never had a 33k modem it was always 56k at least in canada. im sure the U.S had the same modem, they wouldn't bother changing such a minuscule thing like the modem. and they weren't that bad to play on, there wasn't nearly as much lag as there was playing halo 2 online on xbox live lol!

  • Naw bud we UK scumbag's only had the 33k modem, trying to get hold of the elusive 56 was like trying to buy rocking horse shit!!

    Shout out to:

    vF, [RW], BG*D, EG*A, (x), {LoD}

And a big FU to Murder for not sending that 56kmodem to TH3or3!!

  • early japanese and all pal dreamcasts were shipped with a 33k modem but all u.s ones were 56k. dunno about canada but they were probablly 56k aswell

  • they are 56k modems in canada aswell, i live in B.C canada so.

  • aswell isn't a word.

  • oops i forgot to space my word?? o_O seriously man your gonna post a comment to correct spelling when everyone on here has some misspelling errors!? dude you have too much time on your hands at least say something towards the video you just watched or did you come in here to criticize people of their spelling and how they use it in context?...........wow? some people really don't have anything better to do.

  • Some people can't spell to save their lives.

  • well as you can see i can spell fine with my last statement; i just some times jump the gun with my spelling and don't pay attention but i know what you mean. lol!, but i read all the time and play too many games that require really good reading skills to mess up horribly on my spelling, i play a lot of RPGs and that's all there is in those games is reading so.

  • i is a huge fan of unreal tournament dc

    god i love that game

  • Got this and although it looks good its well frustrating using a pad. Gotta play on a PC or cast with mouse, no f**k it, just play on PC

  • what's the point of going with the railgun on quad damage? railgun's gonna smoke someone anyway-- just stick with the rockets

  • not necessarily man unless you are playing instagib. you need 2-3 rails sometimes if they enemy is stacked. I see your point though I would rather use a shotgun or rockets oh and again best soundtrack ever!

  • u cant play q3 without a mouse! it's pointless.

  • Dremacast had a mouse and keys,i use to use othem before i moved to q3 pc

  • I was just wondering lol

Dreamcast only had 1 joystick lol

  • Actually on single player it is very easy...Just set the control's so its like Unreal Tournament.

After that, practice, then get online...its hard, but you can get 15-20 frags on a PC player when he has around 40.

  • Dreamcast version had some legendary soundtracks!!! R.I.P DC

  • best noob ever:P

  • how would you play this on a dreamcast without two analog sticks would you use the abyx buttons to aim?

  • I can't remember, exactly, but I'm pretty that the default control scheme uses the face buttons for movement, kinda like WASD on a keyboard. It's actually more intuitive than it sounds.

  • i remember that ABXY buttons were like WASD for a computer, analog stick was used to aim...

  • yup its quite easy actually

  • yup

  • other way around you aim with analog and you move with a,b,x,y or you can switch them, its noot really that hard after you play for like a hour.

  • no you used the buttons to move and the stick to aim at least thats how we used to set ours up.

  • Noob =x

  • I bet you didn't think that at the time period.

  • he was 6 back then.

  • i hate that Q3 soundtrack. while Q1 and Q2 had some impressive metal music, Q3 just had some techno crap sounds. oh well, still a nice deathmatch game.

  • I sse that you've problems with recognizing music genre ;]. Its not techno crap ... Its fucking good industrial by sonic mayhem ! .

    Sry for my english .

  • aww man i wish i still had my dreamcast! For some reason it seems better than my ps2 right now

  • DC version soundtrack was wicked!

  • oye esto es online play?

  • Wait a minute, wit honly one analog stock, how you move and look?

  • keys - move

    joystick - look

  • I have been asking around alot!! PLEASE ANSWER MY QUESTION! Is it possible to play this game on the dreamcast splitscreen using 2 sets of mouse and keyboard??!!!?? So 2 people using a mouse and keyboard in split screen on the Sega Dreamcast???

  • I'm 99.99% sure you can. In dcq3 you move over the periferals you wanted to use for each player in to the player start menu. bummer is in split screen you only get a few maps.

  • why does this look so much like mph for the ds

  • ¿?

  • @zluvsj You mean why does MPH for the DS look like Quake 3... :)

  • @zluvsj So... You're from the Halo generation, right?

  • over 10 servers still....plus all the sega spain servers. (50 or so)

  • WAS THIS AN ONLINE MATCH

  • No, but people still play online.

  • how do u comunicate headset keyboard?

  • There is no headset, so you need a keyboard if you wanna type fast...But you can change the settings to a button on the controller or whatever you play with, then type there...i use the controller for everything.

  • i think the ultimate guy is just trying to say it was a pretty good game, i dont think he was trying to have a debate with a fucken queerdick. Cool you were on all the best peoples balls, who gives a FUCK!

  • Lo estas jugando con el control dreamcast o con(Mouse y teclado.)

  • Con el control.... por eso la mala punteria :p

  • this was my fave dreamcast game

  • i remember this game it was mi favourite but i dont have dreamcast anymore and i was the best on it id beat anyone

  • Oh really? What was your name on there? I knew all the best players about.

  • whats my name ? like i said i had it on dream cast not any more....

  • Yeah, so did I. That's where i played Q3. If you say you were the best on it, what was your name.

  • o my lord are u reading wat i put i dont have it i had dreamcast i dont remember

  • Yeah, yeah. Don't make claims to things like that if you can't back them. Why lie. Everyone would remember their name on the Q3 community if you played it hardcore back in the day, and you had to be hardcore to be anywhere near the best like you claim. Most of the guys in the TTP clan were good, as well as some in DKE,and onecalled LordSmeagol who was on a PC buy played on DC servers.

  • so how cant i back it id beat u in a second... i didnt know you could play online with toher people i probably did i dont have a good memory

  • no you need the broswer disc to setup your internet connetion for dial up. set dial numbers, username and password as for the BB adaptor I dont know if you need it.

  • Do u need the online start up disc to play online?

  • What online start up disc? This is the Dreamcast...if you are talking about the web browser, no...just put in the disc and go to "Internet Game" ...be sure to go to the setup to change ur name and character though.

  • lol ur aim sucks...start playing online, i will teach u a lesson.

  • lol

  • Seriously, 6 people were on last night...i use the d-pad...anyways i got lucky for getting to play 4 hours last night, LOL...cuz usually my dreamcast dont let me play quake.

Also, how do you change the bots skill level?

  • i didnt even know they made this for dreamcast!
