Lets all intellectually step back a century and a half and vote for Huckabee!! Who cares about enlightenment or intelligence, Huckabee shows neither so lets vote for him!!!!!
I absolutely cannot support any candidate who is for discriminating against a large group of people for any reason. I am raising my children to be tolerant americans.

He sidestepped the question. The statement he signed onto specifically stated that wives must submit themselves graciously to their husbands. It said nothing about mutual submission of any sort, and quoting that verse, couched in sexist fundamentalist beliefs, was Huckabee's way of disavowing the sexist doctrine he clearly believes in. There's no doubt in my mind where Huckabee stands on women's rights.
He didn't sidestep the question. The passages go on to describe a HUSBAND'S responsibility to his wife and family as well. Why are you resentful that Huck gave a well rounded answer, instead of playing into Carl Cameron's playbook?
@daughterrevolution: Yes, the passages go on to describe a husband's RESPONSIBILITY to his wife and family...but they never tell the husband to SUBMIT himself before his wife. There's a plain difference between having responsibility for someone, and submitting to someone. Yet, Huckabee attempted to pass them off as being the same thing to avoid the blatant sexism inherent in those passages. Side-stepping through-and-through.
I like him......he is honest stickks by his beliefs....thats what I like...stand dont change to please others......good job hucklabee...its a about time that the real christian man stand up..it comes all from God glory to God
I like Governor Huckabee as well and I am a Democrat. I have read about him, he seems like a nice guy and has a lot of common sense ideas for America BUT........ I think marriage should be legalized for gay and straight couples. Don't you think it is horrible when gay people get treated like garbage? I think it is. I will never think it is a sin. Marriage has changed for thousands of years whether you want to believe or not and I think both couples should be married. How do you like that?
@RealTime88 Because marriage promotes the further development of the state. I've never met a gay couple that can have a child outside of adoption. Government's only role is to promote a certain direction and assistance to the country and its people. Marriage is a religious tool that has been adopted by the government. We can never be truly married because religion doesn't accept anything outside a man and a woman being married. On the other hand, the government gives people civil unions.
@rtgoodson I know that only a man and woman can create the next generation. But they can do that without getting married. I am not saying it's right I am just saying they can. I am glad you support civil unions. I think gays should not be discriminated at all.
I still cannot believe that South Carolina fell for Fred Thompson's "last stand". He was a ploy for John McCain. Hmmm...he trashed Huck in all Huck's strong areas of SC and Fred dropped out and endorsed his senate buddy McCain a day later. WOW! SC failed us.
