Why is the hope false, bc u do not believe in it means that those who do r not right. I Love the Lord , I sure wish he didn't name this song the way he did. I've always listened to music for the melody, never really listened to words it takes away to much from the harmoney of songs. This song is awesome.

This song doesn't seem so much like a song advocating for atheism as it is a song about how life can sometimes make us all feel like letting it all go. That's just my interpretation though.
As far as I know he wrote this at the time he was an atheist. Now he's a born again christian. I'm just glad we can all relate to this song on many levels. Mine being that it's the only banjo type song that I don't mind bumping loudly in my stereo. Scratch that last statement.

I think everclear does an incredible job of relating pain. They are one of my favorite all time sec. bands. From their music and videos, it appears the atheism comes from:
1. a horrible father
2. a perverted catholic theology
3. a hard life
They are great in describing the problem. I just pray they can find the solution of Jesus as described in the bible, john 3:16

@HippieGuitarBoy shortly after my prayer as i kept SEEKING God and started to have more and more faith form hearing more of what he has to say in the bible.
I finaly surendered my life to jesus when i realized he died for all MY sins. not his.
And I accepted that by FAITH.
whaen I did that I tell you no lie man I felt the spirit ogf GOD come over me like nothing i ever felt before. i felt overwhelming feeling of GODS love to me a million times greater then any drug i had ever taken.

A 2000 year old book that claims these things and backs them up with absolutely NO fact. How, exactly, do you know that this book wasn't written by some folks back around 10 AD that were trying to screw with people's heads. Or a cult? Personally, I think it's both.

If you really want to get technical, in the Jewish scriptures, the Messiah would appear in politics. Jesus was never a politician. He was a dirty, homeless peace advocate.
And if Christ died for our sins...wouldn't it mean that our sinning would automatically be forgiven, no matter what? Why would any God, who is all merciful and created everything, choose to give an after life to a chosen few, and not all her creatures?

An absolute moral obligation is something that is binding on all people, at all times, in all places. And an absolute Moral Law points to an absolute Moral Law Giver.

3 people started telling me that faith in christ enters you in a relationship with God.
4 I said ok i doubt its true but i will check it out.
5 went to church read the bible and heard the word of God

This song doesn't seem so much like a song advocating for atheism as it is a song about how life can sometimes make us all feel like letting it all go. That's just my interpretation though.

As far as I know he wrote this at the time he was an atheist. Now he's a born again christian. I'm just glad we can all relate to this song on many levels. Mine being that it's the only banjo type song that I don't mind bumping loudly in my stereo. Scratch that last statement.

I think everclear does an incredible job of relating pain. They are one of my favorite all time sec. bands. From their music and videos, it appears the atheism comes from:
1. a horrible father
2. a perverted catholic theology
3. a hard life
They are great in describing the problem. I just pray they can find the solution of Jesus as described in the bible, john 3:16
btw, those voices he is hearing is from the god of this world, satan.
I hope he can be free from the bondage.
