different rules for different countries, had it been reversed I'm sure it would have been a scandal, Josee was robbed by ISU and Tanya again benefited. Sometimes the best just don't get the medals. N.K got the sympathy vote some how it's just not fair.
Tonya's theatrics caused Josee to have to go out and skate while Tonya solved her "equipment problems. So unfair to Josee, but she went out and tried her best. I have such respect for Josee. She deserved better.
@dizneegirl76 Hi: Yes, Tonya's behavior hurt a lot of people, yet she frequently cast herself as the victim. Josee deserved so much better, and I will never understand why she had to go out and skate when she did. Oh, well, one more victim...absolutely inexcusable. Glad to be able to come here and see that others like Josee as much as I do.
@dizneegirl76 how was that stunt her fault? her shoelace broke. she didn't plan for that to happen. what was she supposed to do? and please don't bring Nancy Kerrigan into this.
@LMA629 It was part karma, and part not being prepared on her part. My daughter skates and she's never broken a lace, they are heavy hard to break! She should've been prepared. One would think she would've had her skates checked thoroughly before competition? I know most skaters do, especially for something as big as the Olympics.
Just a note to whomever posted this video: the sound quality is very poor, even when i crank my speakers up you can barely hear the music...great video--just needs more volume!!!! :)
Well, its an inconvenience, but if you aren't ready a few minutes before you are scheduled to skate, you probably won't be ready if you go out on time.
Uh, excueeeze me, but that's no reason to be a snoot-bag to the flower girl. Anyway, she blamed her sad performance on Tonya Harding, when it really was bad technique; watch her upper body--it's always ahead.
too bad about this performance. the one time i saw her skate this clean, was one of the most memorable performances i have ever seen. brilliant choreography, brilliantly executed. made me love josee.

Josee Chouinard was skating just after Tony Harding failed before that (did you remember this ?).
That's may explain why Josee Chouinard seems to be under her full level. She may be prepared to skate after 6-8 minutes and not 2-3 minutes.
tabledechevet2007 2 years ago 3
@tabledechevet2007 she didn't fail. her shoelace broke and she had to come out and skate with it half-laced or she would have been disqualified.
LMA629 1 year ago
@LMA629, yes and that's why she failed at the beginning.

She didn't give her a look, she was getting her breath back and was obviously in shock at what had happened to her on the ice!

I think going out really early and not ready. Hurt her chances. Poor Josee!

Honestly, you're seeing something that isn't there.

I agree; she looks like she's doing her best to smile for a moment when she's handed the flowers. She just couldn't hide her emotions that well.

She never blamed Tonya Harding, the Canadian coverage of the 94 world's after this said that she refused to use the lace incident as an excuse.

well again, Josee was just the queen of rushed jumps....she should have switched coaches. It's all over now

does anyone have the sp from Lillehamar?
thomstephens 3 years ago
Josee had the best programs and costumes in 1994 by far.
MissFit29 3 years ago 2
i think she skated it cleanly at 94 worlds.

where was that? Canadian Nationals?
barkingtree88 3 years ago
that was at the 1994 olympics , they made jose go out early becasue tonya hardings lace broke and jose was supposed to skate after tonya harding
shayneinsc 3 years ago
yeah, I know that. But I wanted to know where she skated this program cleanly.
barkingtree88 3 years ago
barkingtree: She skated this pretty well at 94 Canadians and at 93 Pirutten. Unfortunately neither of those are on here right now.
